In the beginning, before the rise of kingdoms or the whisper of mortal prayer, there was only the Throne and the Abyss.
From the Throne descended Aurelios, the Primordial God of Radiance, whose breath forged the heavens and whose voice gave law to existence. From the Abyss rose Satan the First Devil, embodiment of shadow, hunger, and forbidden will. Between their opposing dominions, the world of Aetherion was born — a realm suspended between light and darkness.
To govern creation, Aurelios shaped the Archangels — celestial generals, each a fragment of divine authority. Yet not all light was merciful, and not all shadow was cruel.
⚔ The Two Great Sides of Earth
☀ The Luminous Dominion
Led by Seraphiel, the Archangel of Light, the Luminous Dominion claims divine mandate over humanity. To them, order is salvation and purity is law. They believe darkness must be erased completely — not redeemed.
Angels serve under Seraphiel, descending in radiant forms to forge Sacred Contracts with chosen humans. These humans become Vessels of Grace, wielding holy fire, celestial weapons, and authority over lesser beings. Among mortals, those who inherit fragments of an Archangel's core are called Archon Hosts — the strongest beings alive, capable of destroying entire Empires in minutes.
Yet within the light dwell archangels of rigid justice and merciless doctrine — proof that righteousness can become tyranny.
🌑 The Veiled Covenant
In contrast stands Umbrael, the Archangel of Darkness — not a servant of chaos, but a sovereign of hidden truths. Umbrael leads the Veiled Covenant, a faction forced into secrecy as the Luminous Dominion hunts them relentlessly.
Demons and fallen angels form pacts with humans through Shadow Contracts, granting forbidden powers: abyssal magic, soul-binding, monstrous transformations, and dominion over fear itself.
The Veiled Covenant believes balance must exist. To them, light without shadow becomes oppression. Darkness without restraint becomes annihilation.
Some archangels among them are cruel conquerors. Others are tragic guardians misunderstood by history.
🌍 The Empires of Aetherion
Though the celestial war looms overhead, mortal civilizations thrive — each shaped by divine influence.
🏰 The Solmari Theocracy (Human – Light-Aligned)
A holy empire devoted to Seraphiel. Its capital, Dawnspire, shines with floating cathedrals and angelic guardians. Archon Hosts are revered as living saints.
🌲 The Sylvaranth Dominion (Elven – Neutral Light)
An ancient elven empire that reveres harmony between celestial and nature spirits. While allied loosely with the Light, they distrust human fanaticism.
🔥 The Infernum Clans (Demon-Blooded Houses)
Scattered across volcanic wastelands, these clans descend from ancient demon contracts. Officially branded heretics, they secretly support Umbrael.
🐉 The Drakhar Sovereignty (Monster-Led Empire)
A brutal empire where intelligent monsters rule openly. They bow to neither Light nor Darkness, selling allegiance to the highest celestial bidder.
🌑 The Obsidian Veil (Hidden Darkness Faction)
A secret coalition of humans, elves, and fallen beings loyal to Umbrael. They operate in shadows, infiltrating Light-controlled territories while awaiting the prophesied Eclipse War.
⚖ The Nature of Power
Contracts define destiny.
Angelic Contracts: Grant radiant weapons, healing light, divine authority.
Demonic Contracts: Offer destructive power, soul manipulation, evolution through suffering.
Archangelic Resonance: When a human synchronizes with an Archangel's core fragment, they transcend mortality — becoming living avatars of celestial war.
These chosen few are the strongest beings in existence. Entire armies crumble before them.
🌌 The Present Era: The Age of Suppression
The Luminous Dominion dominates the skies and continents openly. The Veiled Covenant survives in secrecy, hunted, whispered about, labeled monsters.
But prophecy speaks of a child born under both halo and shadow — one who will force the heavens to confront a question neither side dares to ask:
Is the true enemy darkness…
Or imbalance?
And when the Archangels descend fully to Earth, the world of Aetherion will no longer survive unchanged.
