meeting a chill guy

"I died to a random ass heart attack. I was healthy and active, and I still got a heart attack.

"My complaints fill the grey void I am in, filled with grievance. "I hope my family is ok, my sis must have watched me fell hard of the bleachers.

" I was crying now. Tears are falling fast and hard. I don't yell, I don't screem, I don't curse or flail.

I just look up.

More grey void.

I do not know how long I stood there crying.

When I finally got my emotions under control I finnaly take a good look at the grey void that started to shift or faze in furniture.

A recliner spawned below me, and I fell onto it with a oof. I glanced around in mild panic. My heart beats faster not knowing what's going to happen.

A door just fades into existence around 10 feet away from me. It opens slowly with no sound and the grey fog fades away into a warm cabin.

Snow falls gently outside the windows. A fireplace roars to my left, burning with surprising intensity, yet the heat feels perfectly balanced not too hot, not too cold.

Just right.

"When did I pick up hot cocoa?" I mutter, staring at the mug in my hands.

My thoughts are jumbled. My eyes snap back to the doorway.

There's a guy standing there. Not movie star handsome, but good looking in an ordinary way. He holds a mug with both of his hands and wears glasses. He smiles kindly, one of those smiles that reaches the eyes.

"Good evening," he says. "My name is Toddy. It's good to finally meet you."

He walks in casually, sits in the recliner across from me, takes a sip from his mug, and sets it down.

"You have a lot of questions," he continues. "Let me get the boring answers out of the way first." Another sip. "Yes, you died. No, you cannot go back, unless you have an absurd amount of power, or ability to do so. And yes, I am an extremely powerful yet humble, chill guy."

He beams with pride at his own statement.

Meanwhile I am trying to process leaving everyone behind and having a crisis in my head

" Are you a R.O.B." I asked with slight trapadation in my voice.

He smiles and nods.

"To you, yes. But omniscience and omnipotence are titles reserved for beings who hold dominion over both concepts, or those who become the strongest entity in their universe and ascend as its ruler. But that's not important right now."

He points to me and himself.

"We're here for you."

My stomach tightens.

"You see, my friend, I've been searching across the universe for someone to do a job for me. And I think you might be perfect for it." He leans back. I wish I had the time to do this simple job. But I am at war with the Original Primordial Dragon of the END". He says slightly annoyed at the end.

My jaw drops. I try to picture what kind of dragon can go against this God.

I immediately regret it.

The pain that hits me was so intense I couldent speak or even scream. like fire ants inside and out gnawing in me.

Toddy frowns slightly and waves his hand.

No more pain.

"Thank you" i say gratefully while catching my breath. The sweat and tears making me uncomfortable I move around in my recliner subconsciously.

That pain felt like it was trying to unmake me.

Toddy waves his hand again and I am clean. I nod gratefuly in his direction.

He smiles and points at my mug that was not in my hands anymore but on the table.

I take a long drink of my cocoa and finish it. As I lower the mug, it refills the moment I glance away.

I look back at Toddy. He's wearing a bright yellow T-shirt that says:

"My T-shirt is brighter than your future."

I can't help it.

I chuckle.
