The battlefield was silent.
Not peaceful.
Not calm.
Silent.
Smoke drifted across the broken ground.
Cracks covered the earth.
Hundreds of warriors stood frozen between the Red and Blue armies.
In the center...
Two souls stood facing each other.
James.
Saku.
They had once fought together.
They had laughed together.
They had protected Arashio together.

They were enemies again.
A Red Team guard stepped forward.
"Saku belongs to the Red Team."
He pointed toward James.
"And James belongs to the Blue Team."
Another guard raised his weapon.
"Your friendship is over."
Saku's fists slowly tightened.
James lowered his head.
Neither answered.
Then—
A painful memory flashed through Saku's mind.
His father.
Standing alone.
Fighting against the Time God's army.
Saku watched helplessly.
"Dad..."
The Time God appeared.

His expression was completely emotionless.
Saku's father tried to attack.

The memory shattered.
Saku's eyes widened.

He grabbed his head.

His father stood surrounded by the Nature God's army.
He was wounded.
Exhausted.

James screamed—

The Nature God had killed his father.
The Time God had killed Saku's father.

Saku slowly looked at James.

The Red Team guard smiled.

Crimson flames exploded around Saku.

His eyes turned bright red.
His hand became covered in fire.
James slowly raised his arm.

Blue lightning crawled across his body.
His eyes became brilliant blue.
The sky above them darkened.
Saku whispered,
"James..."
James looked at him.
"Don't hold back."
Saku nodded.
"Never."
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!
Both disappeared.
Their fists collided in the center of the battlefield.
KRAAAAAAAAAASH!!
A massive shockwave exploded outward.
Red soldiers were thrown backward.
Blue soldiers struggled to remain standing.
Saku slid across the ground.
James flew through the air.
Both landed.
Neither fell.
Saku wiped blood from his mouth.
James cracked his neck.
Saku smiled sadly.
"You're still stubborn."
James smiled back.
"So are you."
Then they vanished again.
BOOM!
BAM!
CRACK!
Their movements became impossible to follow.
Saku's flaming fist struck.
James blocked.
James's lightning kick came next.
Saku dodged.
They moved around each other in circles.
Fire.
Lightning.
Fire.
Lightning.
It looked like two storms were fighting across the battlefield.
Then—
Saku's aura suddenly exploded.
FWOOSH!!
Behind him appeared a gigantic monster made of crimson fire.
A massive humanoid warrior.
Its fists burned like molten rock.
Its roar shook the mountains.
ROOOOOOOOOOOAR!!
Saku raised his burning hand.
"Monster Soul..."
His eyes became fierce.
"CRIMSON FLAME GOLEM!"
The Flame Golem punched forward.
James stared.
"So that's your Monster Soul."
He slowly raised his hand.
Blue lightning gathered behind him.
The sky began shaking.
ZZZZZZZZZZT!!
A gigantic blue dragon appeared behind James.
Its body was formed from pure lightning.
Its eyes glowed like stars.
ROOOOOOOOOOOAR!!
James looked toward Saku.
"Then I'll show you mine."
"SOUTHERN BLUE PRIME DRAGON!"
The two Monster Souls stared at each other.
Flame.
Lightning.
The battlefield seemed to disappear.
Saku raised his fist.
James raised his.
Then—
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!
The Flame Golem and Blue Prime Dragon charged.
Their fists collided.
KRAAAAAAAAAASH!!
The shockwave destroyed the surrounding rocks.
Saku screamed,
"YOU TOOK MY FATHER!"
James roared,
"AND YOUR GOD TOOK MINE!"
BOOM!
Another punch.
BOOM!
Another.
Their fists collided again and again.
But with every attack...
Their memories returned.
Arashio laughing.
Their first battle.
Their arguments.
Their ridiculous moments.
The times they had protected him.
The time they had awakened their powers together.
Saku's eyes began filling with tears.
"Why...?"
James's voice cracked.
"Why did we have to become enemies again?"
Saku screamed,
"I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT YOU!"
James shouted,
"THEN STOP!"
Saku's fist stopped inches from James's face.
James's lightning-covered fist also stopped.
Both were breathing heavily.
Their Monster Souls slowly faded behind them.
Saku whispered,
"James..."
James looked at him.
"We're idiots."
Saku laughed through his tears.
"Yeah."
"You're a bigger idiot."
James smiled.
"And you're still annoying."

They were friends again.
Then—
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!
A massive explosion struck the battlefield.
Everyone turned.
A spaceship descended from the sky.

It crashed onto the ground.
The door opened.
Arashio stepped out.
Behind him were Siya, Leon, Kiro, and Alya.
Arashio looked across the battlefield.
His expression immediately changed.
"James..."
"Saku..."
He saw their injuries.
He saw the two armies.
He saw the flames.
He saw the lightning.
Arashio's fists tightened.
"What happened?"
Siya looked at him.
"They were forced to fight."
Arashio slowly walked forward.
James looked at him.
Saku looked at him.

Neither spoke.
Then Arashio smiled.
"You two really know how to cause trouble."
James laughed weakly.
"Sorry."
Saku smiled.
"We missed you."
Arashio stopped.
His expression softened.
"I missed you too."
He stepped between them.
"No more fighting."
The Red Team guard shouted,
"Move aside!"
The Blue Team guard raised his weapon.
"That's an order!"
Arashio looked at both armies.
His eyes began glowing.
One side—
Blue.
The other—
Crimson.
His aura slowly grew.
"I'm not letting anyone take my friends again."
Siya stood beside him.
Leon raised his weapon.
Kiro summoned his Monster Soul.
Alya stepped forward.
The four stood together.
James looked at Saku.
Saku looked at James.
They both smiled.
"Together?"
"Together."
Suddenly—
The entire sky turned dark.
RUMBLEEEEE...
Everyone looked upward.
A gigantic presence descended from above.
Even the Red and Blue armies stopped fighting.
Arashio slowly raised his head.
"What... is that?"
Siya's expression became pale.
"I don't know."
The clouds split apart.
A massive shadow appeared in the sky.
Its energy alone shook the battlefield.
James whispered,
"Arashio..."
Saku clenched his fists.
"This isn't normal."
Arashio's eyes became serious.
The mysterious figure slowly descended.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!
The ground shattered beneath everyone.
And from the smoke...
A terrifying voice echoed.
"You have all been fighting the wrong enemy."
Arashio stared forward.
The battle between Red and Blue...
Was over.
