Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Pupil Technique: Ten Shadows Technique

(I did some careful research later, and the Divine Dogs are a beginner's benefit of the Ten Shadows Technique and don't require Subjugation. Let's just consider this my own creative interpretation.)

Uchiha Shao Yu stood in the courtyard, his shadow stretched long by the moonlight. Those crimson Mangekyo Sharingan eyes appeared increasingly eerie in the night.

Even now, he still felt a sense of unreality.

Did he really have the Mangekyo Sharingan just like that?

He withdrew his gaze from the night sky and looked down at his palms. The throbbing from when he first activated the Mangekyo had not yet subsided, and his heart was filled with curiosity and a desire to explore the abilities of these eyes.

The abilities of every pair of Mangekyo Sharingan are unique, and he had to figure out his own eyes' capabilities as soon as possible.

The left eye's pupil technique was the Ten Shadows Technique, and the right eye's was the Six Eyes.

?????????

Why did that sound so familiar?

Aren't these the abilities of Satoru Gojo and Fushiguro Megumi?

Uchiha Shao Yu carefully observed his two pupil techniques.

They were quite different from the pupil techniques of other Uchiha in Naruto.

Instead, they were somewhat like the cursed techniques in jujutsu kaisen.

Other Uchiha had singular pupil techniques, like Sasuke's Amaterasu, Itachi's Tsukuyomi, or Shisui's Kotoamatsukami.

Just a single, specific ability.

But Uchiha Shao Yu's pupil techniques were different.

Whether it was the Ten Shadows Technique or the Six Eyes, both were sets of combined pupil techniques.

The Ten Shadows Technique could summon ten types of Shikigami. The Six Eyes provided 360-degree long-distance vision, as well as the analysis of Chakra and techniques, extreme control over Cursed Energy, support for high-level applications like Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue and Cursed Technique Reversal: Red, and even the Limitless Jutsu.

Most importantly, these two pupil techniques did not consume too much of Uchiha Shao Yu's ocular power. It wasn't like Itachi and Sasuke in the original story, who were practically going blind.

Only using Susanoo would cause a significant drop in his ocular power.

However, both the Six Eyes and the Ten Shadows Technique required sufficient time to master. Currently, Uchiha Shao Yu was not yet proficient.

The Six Eyes required slow cultivation and adaptation, while the Ten Shadows Technique required Uchiha Shao Yu to subjugate the Shikigami one by one.

As for the first Shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique... was it the Divine Dogs?

The black and white pair of dogs had a keen sense of smell for tracking and devouring curses. After the white dog was destroyed, the black dog could inherit its power and evolve into Divine Dog: Totality.

This was fine. If it was the Divine Dogs, Uchiha Shao Yu didn't need to find a place too remote; he wouldn't make too much of a commotion dealing with them.

Then... let's give it a try.

As his eyelids closed slightly, the Chakra of the Ten Shadows Technique quietly seeped into the ground beneath his feet.

Without the need for hand signs, pale black cursed markings spread half a zhang across the grass, and two silhouettes of light and shadow burst from the earth.

One white on the left and one black on the right—they were the Divine Dog Shikigami.

The white dog's body was covered in short, frost-like fur, while the black dog's was as shiny as if dipped in ink. As soon as they appeared, they arched their backs and bared their teeth, their crimson fangs glinting coldly as waves of Chakra churned gently around them.

"You're not exactly kittens, so why are you hissing at me?"

But this intimidation was meaningless before Shao Yu. He stood with his hands behind his back, his Chakra spreading out like an invisible barrier, suppressing the Divine Dogs' restlessness in an instant.

The black dog lunged first, its sharp claws aiming straight for his throat with the sound of breaking air, but Uchiha Shao Yu dodged it when it was only half a foot away.

As an elite who had trained Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu to the peak of Jonin level, Shao Yu needed no flashy tricks. Relying solely on his precise control of Chakra, he brought the second-tier Shikigami's sudden attack to a halt.

He tapped his finger lightly, and a wisp of highly condensed Chakra was injected into the black dog's brow like a fine needle. He didn't rely on any special Ninjutsu, but rather used pure Chakra suppression to forcibly rewrite its core consciousness.

The black dog whimpered and collapsed to the ground. The restless Chakra around it was forcibly smoothed out, and the ferocity in its eyes gradually faded during its struggle, replaced by submissive docility.

Seeing this, the white dog tried to retreat. Shao Yu tapped the ground with his toe, and Chakra seeped into the soil with his step. Instead of using the Uchiha's signature Fire Release, he used a basic Earth Release Ninjutsu to quickly condense a three-foot-square earth prison. The light brown earthen walls instantly closed in, firmly trapping the white dog inside.

"Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!"

This Earth Release didn't have world-shaking power, but it excelled in rapid hand signs and precise placement.

The white dog made a symbolic charge against the earth prison twice, but feeling the pressure of Shao Yu's strength, it lowered its head and crouched on the ground, no longer struggling.

"So... that's it for the Subjugation?"

Looking at the two puppies running over to lick his hands, Uchiha Shao Yu was somewhat curious.

However, the strength of these two Divine Dogs was indeed not great, roughly at the level of a Chunin. They wouldn't be of much help to the current Uchiha Shao Yu.

But the other Ten Shadows Shikigami were not as weak as the Divine Dogs. Shikigami like the Circular Deer, Piercing Ox, Tiger Burial, and especially the strongest, Mahoraga, would provide a massive boost to Uchiha Shao Yu.

But now was not the time for Subjugation. Uchiha Shao Yu needed to find a place where no one was around; otherwise, the commotion would be too great and would attract the attention of others.

Especially at this critical moment, Uchiha Shao Yu didn't want to be targeted by those two Old Schemers, Danzo and Hiruzen Sarutobi.

He had a rough understanding of the Ten Shadows Technique. Next, he would try out the Six Eyes.

Uchiha Shao Yu closed his eyes and then slowly opened them.

It was no longer the signature crimson Sharingan of the Uchiha. What was now reflected in the mirror was a pair of vertical pupils swirling with silver-blue light. The whites of the eyes were covered with fine, pale gold patterns, like vines spreading under ice and snow. It possessed both a non-human eeriness and a heart-palpitating majesty.

Damn, it's so flashy and handsome.

(*^ω^*)

The world had completely changed its appearance. At first, it was an unbearable sensory overload.

The branching angles of leaf veins a hundred meters away were as clear as if they were right before his eyes. The movement trajectories of dust in the wind drew fine arcs, and he could even hear the vibration frequency of the water when a koi flicked its tail in a stream three kilometers away.

What overwhelmed him even more was the flow of Chakra. The Chakra circuits within every living being around him were like glowing rivers flowing beneath their skin. A human's Chakra was warm and peaceful, while the Chakra of wild beasts in the distant mountains was restless.

And his own Chakra, in the vision of the Six Eyes, was actually a brilliant sea of stars. Every wisp of Chakra flow was clearly discernible, yet it was also so turbulent that it almost broke through the constraints of his meridians.

He sank his consciousness into the vision of the Six Eyes.

He no longer tried to block out the overloaded information. Instead, like untangling a mess of yarn, he differentiated bit by bit which perceptions were necessary and which were noise that could be ignored.

He watched the wind blow through the bamboo forest, and the Six Eyes automatically captured the trajectory of the airflow. He tried to let his body move along with the direction of the wind, and his footsteps actually became as light as a feather.

He observed the falling bamboo leaves, and the Six Eyes calculated their falling speed and angle. He reached out and accurately caught that green leaf which still carried morning dew.

The hardest part was controlling the flow of Chakra. The Six Eyes allowed him to see the path of every Chakra meridian in his body, but it also made him realize that his past use of Chakra was merely superficial.

When he first tried to activate his Chakra, the surging energy nearly burst through his palm and shattered the stone table in front of him.

He grit his teeth and, relying on the insight of the Six Eyes, guided the Chakra bit by bit to flow slowly along his meridians, like taming a wild horse.

He focused on the path of every wisp of Chakra, feeling them condense, flow, and dissipate at his fingertips. Gradually, those once out-of-control Chakras began to follow his commands, becoming docile under the gaze of the Six Eyes.

In the future, the consumption of using Ninjutsu would be infinitely reduced.

His endurance was greatly enhanced.

Uchiha Shao Yu discovered that both the Ten Shadows Technique and the Six Eyes were much more powerful than the related techniques in the original jujutsu kaisen.

Was it because of the change in worlds that the related techniques had also upgraded?

After all, if they were at the power level of the original jujutsu kaisen, there would be no way to compete with the various powerful opponents in the Naruto worldview.

There was a gap between the levels of the two worlds.

But everything that needed to be figured out had been figured out.

"Well then, it's time to head back."
