Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: First Hunt

Adrian woke up with groan, he felt like he had a hangover. He could smell a terrible yet familiar scent around him.

He opened his eyes and closed them immediately, it was so bright he felt like he was staring directly at the sun.

' Who the hell is beating drums so early?' he thought then paused. ' Those sound like...' he didn't finish the thought as it was ridiculous.

He thought back to the nightmare he had last night, he was certain it was a nightmare otherwise how would he be still alive.

He heard a dogs whimpering and something cold on his face. ' Who the hell let a dog into my room?'

He sat upright and opened his eyes, what he saw made him jump. His body jumped so high he hit the roof of a cave.

" Ouch." Then he realised it did not hurt, he wondered if this was still a dream but it felt too real.

He was in a cave surrounded by wolves, he was scared for a split moment then his fear disappeared like smoke.

He felt a strange yet strong connection to the wolves like they one of his own. The scent he was smelling belonged to them.

He wondered how they could smell so much and the drums were their heartbeats. ' Were wolves heartbeats always so loud?'

He immediately dismissed that idea, because his sight was also better, infact all of his senses were better.

He felt like his body was overloading with information and energy. It was overwhelming so he closed his eyes and tried to focus.

The senses still flooded him all at once but slowly he was getting a hang of it, it was still hard but better than when he woke up.

The light was no longer blinding and the sounds weren't as overwhelming. He looked around the cave he was in.

It was large and so was the wolf pack, at once corner was a frozen tiny pond, he used it too check himself.

He saw a familiar yet unfamiliar man, he still looked like himself but more perfect. Talk and muscular yet lean.

His hair, even his eyebrows and eyelashes had turned a pure silver, it made him look absolutely gorgeous.

His eyes were like the moon drawing in even him. He looked down and realised his member had also grown much larger.

" Sweet." He couldn't help but grin, the memories of yesterday hit him all at once. He remembered his mother's death and his sister's abduction.

He remembered the transformation even though it was blurry but he clearly remembers eating a demons heart.

He wanted to throw up but was unable to, it was as if his body denied him the ability to throw up.

The wolves in the cave stood around him, he felt strangely calm next to them. They bowed to him as a sign of submission.

He heard something whisper in his head as if it was the world itself. ' Primordial werewolf' the voice said.

Or rather an instinct, he couldn't tell but he clearly understood it. It was calling him a primordial werewolf, the original werewolf.

He had no idea how he understood any of that but he did and did not think further about it, his instincts also told him the wolves were the lowest kind amongst his kind.

" I see, I guess I am some sort of wolf creature now." He decided to try a few things he did last night.

He tried to transform, his bones cracked and grew larger. Fangs and claws came out and he started growing fur.

Then he failed, his body returned back to normal. " I see, I need food." He did feel hungry, he looked down at the ice pond and saw his eyes had turned black again.

He left the cave, the light, the wind, the smell of the forest all hit him at once but it was no longer as bad.

" It seems I can turn this off." When his eyes turn silver his senses grow stronger it seemed.

After leaving the cave he sniffed the air and caught a scent, the wolves came up behind him.

They sniffed the air and ground as well but it seemed they didn't catch any scent. He figured his sense of smell was just better.

He ran towards it then fell face flat, while he had instinct about his abilities and his body, that didn't mean he could just get used to it.

That speed was much greater than that of a human. He started slowly then increased his speed.

The wolf pack was running around him, he was running as fast as the wolves and he was not even going all out.

Then he saw them, a herd of wild bison grazing through the snow. He crouched, his eyes turned silver.

His senses grew stronger and his fangs and claws came out. The bisons seemed to sense the danger and ran.

The wolf pack moved first to chase down the weakest and slowest of them but Adrian had different plans.

He ran after the largest bull, his body blurred forward leaving a trail of wind behind him. He ran through the snow like the wind itself.

He was so fast the bison barely ran a few metres before he caught up even though they were over 60 metres apart.

He pounced, his body sailed through the air grabbed into it head. Before the poor creature could resist he sunk his teeth into it neck.

The blood made his eyes contrast like he had just taken drugs. He dropped the bison to the ground easily overpowering it.

It struggled for a short while but died a short time after. The pack was still chasing the other bison.

They had moved a few kilometres away but he was able to see, hear and even smell them clearly as if they were next to him.

He decided to help with the hunt, his speed was much faster. In this form he estimated his speed to be above that of a standard car.

Adrian was never a maths guy which is why he needed extra classes. He ran past the wolves and killed the bison.

After the kill the wolves howled, he howled with them.

Near the edge of the forest, a group of human hunters stopped. " Is that a wolf, how can it howl be so loud?" One of them asked.

" Don't know but we'll come back tonight to hunt them down."
