Dario had eaten the bread that Thana gave him, but he was still extremely hungry.
Nobody wanted him; everybody hated him. Would he be able to endure this for long? He was just a little boy who needed love but never found any.
He was all alone on his large bed, sobbing. Feeling weak… his eyelids slowly closed as he fell into a deep sleep.
Just then, the candlelights flickered as Demetrio and Ezekiel appeared inside the chamber.
"What should we do about Basmus, Demetrio?" Ezekiel asked.
"Nothing," Demetrio muttered as he walked toward the table and dropped the basket of food he had brought.
He removed each and every item one by one—rice, eggs, bread, strawberries, and apples.
"What do you mean nothing? Dario is suffering, and that's because of Basmus… he is fûcking overstepping the boundaries," Ezekiel hissed angrily, though his anger wasn't greater than Demetrio's.
But Demetrio remained calm.
"Shouldn't we just take the boy away?" Ezekiel demanded, making Demetrio snap his eyes at him.
Ezekiel simply rolled his eyes.
"Gosh, I can't stand it. The scent of his blood is driving me crazy, and I feel like having a taste," He said, his eyes glued to the sleeping Dario.
Just then, his fangs protruded from his mouth as he moved closer to Dario's bed.
He was about to step further but stopped halfway… feeling a dark aura beside him.
He turned and saw Demetrio glaring dangerously at him… his red eyes darker and more ominous.
Ezekiel shuddered; his fangs instantly retracted.
"I'm sorry," he muttered, lowering his head.
"Let's leave," Demetrio said quietly. He glanced at Dario one last time before they both disappeared.
After a few minutes, Dario woke up, perceiving the smell of food.
"Food," he muttered and got down from the bed. His eyes immediately landed on the dishes on the table.
He hurried toward them and, without a second thought, devoured the meal.
When he was done, he drank some water and exhaled.
That was when his mind cleared… he looked around.
"So where is the food from?" he asked no one in particular.
