Sienna had begun to feel the limits of the Spatial Farm's available land. Oil trees, bamboo rice, corn, and radishes now occupied nearly every suitable patch of soil, leaving little room for her to introduce other crops. The farm had served her well, providing food and resources that had helped House Vale survive, but its limited space was becoming a problem as her needs continued to grow.
Fortunately, the Black Waste was slowly becoming more fertile. The land that had once seemed incapable of supporting anything useful was beginning to show signs of improvement, and Sienna had been paying close attention to the changes. If she could grow oil trees and other crops outside the Spatial Farm, she would no longer need to devote so much of its limited space to ordinary production.
