Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : The Wedding

And now many years later, in the grand halls of the wedding chapel, stood the two figures, the bride and the groom, Athena and Lucian and in front of them, the priest who uttered the prayers and blessings, and a few others attended the wedding and whispers was all around the chapel.

Athena was dressed in a beautiful Wedding gown with intricate designs on the skirt, white heels that highlighted her legs, her hair was in a formal updo that framed her face perfectly, a corset so tight that her figure was able to be seen, even from afar, in a corset so tight the bride could barely breathe but Athena kept silent, not uttering a word at all as she listened to the priest speak.

And then the priest spoke the final words that the whispers quieted down instantly, as they all stared at the altar.

"Do you Athena, take..this man to be your husband?" The priest said as he stared at me with slight disgust and dismissiveness. Rude.

I then looked at the man standing beside me. Who was unfazed by the priest' gaze and the whispers whispering around the capel.

Lucian Aurelian

The Grand Duke of Aurelian's heir

Future Grand Duke

"I do" I said calmly to the priest who only stared dismissively and in disgust at me in return, then the priest turned to Lucian with a uneasy expression on his face

"Do you, Sir, Lucian take.. This wench as your wife?" The priest said calmly with disgust and bitterness

"I do" Lucian said calmly, his expression not faltering or changing, giving no hint at what's going on in that head.

"I then pronounce you, Husband and wife" The Priest said as he continued speaking

"Then you may kiss the bride"

Lucian turned to me, and then i saw something changing in his eyes, it was only for a second but did his eyes just soften?

Then Lucian leaned down and lightly kissed my lips, and i returned the kiss and after the kiss, whispers became louder

Lucian then took my hand and led me out of the chapel and led me to a nearby carriage and i sat down as he sat across from me, staring at me with ... was that longing? I couldn't tell

Once we sat down in the carriage on opposite sides of each other, Lucian stared at me with a expression i couldn't read, he stared at me for a moment before he then spoke.

"I'm leaving for the frontline soon, Wife." Lucian said to me calmly

"But we just got married today!" I said with a puzzled expression as i stared in confusion at Lucian

"I'm aware, but the people at the battlefield needs me to" Lucian said calmly to me, with a calm expression on his face

..

..

1 hour later, We had arrived at a grand estate with towering gates and walls, it looked like a castle, so ethereal, my jaw dropped in shock and amazement as i stared at the castle towering above me.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Lucian' voice pierced through, breaking me out of my own thoughts and i fixed my composure and put on a neutral expression on my face,

"It is" I said calmly as i looked away, not wanting to look at Lucian' face, Lucian only hummed in amusement as he stared at me, as i looked at anywhere else but not him

"Why are you staring at me, it's weird" I said, as i refused to look at him. And he let out a laugh.

"Just admiring the view" He said so suddenly, my jaw just dropped as i turned to look at him, only to realize that he actually looked at the sky. The nerve!

I looked at him with annoyance now as he turned to look at me and he smiled mockingly at me, as he turned and walked towards the grand mansion, he turned slightly and gestured for me to follow him, which I hesitantly obliged to do actually, with a frown on my face as i followed after him. And when we entered, then? I stepped on his foot
