Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: First Time at Fairy Tail

Chapter 3: First Time at Fairy Tail

Taking a closer look at the small old man in front of him, although there were some differences from the anime, the appearance was extremely similar.

Makarov saw that Kaito was finally stunned and felt much better. He had long heard about a little brat who kept stealing and couldn't be caught, always disappearing in golden light. This time he happened to pass by on his way back, so he decided to check.

After all, he had heard many similar stories, like Mirajane being treated as a monster by the villagers.

But he had never seen a boy this powerful. In just a short time he could roughly grasp part of the boy's strength.

The body could turn into light for light-speed movement, immune to physical attacks, fingers could fire laser beams, legs could also release powerful light attacks. This boy was practically the embodiment of light.

So strong at such a young age—what would he become when he grew up? If he wasn't guided properly, almost no one would be able to stop him from walking the path of crime.

Of course, there was one main reason: the guild. To grow the guild they needed powerful mages, and this boy's talent was simply too good.

Besides Giant Magic, light magic was also one of his specialties. His grandson Laxus specialized in lightning, and he wanted to pass down light magic as well.

If a guild master didn't recruit a wild genius like this, he would be completely unqualified.

"Kid, I heard you only steal from a store once and never return. You have principles. You clearly possess great power yet you don't abuse it or hurt people randomly."

"But that kind of sneaky thieving life can't last forever."

"Come to my guild. Everyone in the guild is like family, and you can make lots of friends there."

"There are plenty of jobs in the guild. Work hard and you'll earn generous rewards. Then you can walk into any restaurant openly to eat without being chased."

"With your power, you shouldn't be doing such things. You deserve a much brighter future."

Kaito's eyes flickered slightly. He admitted he was tempted. On one hand, Makarov's words had an effect. He had only just arrived in this world and didn't understand it well yet, and he currently had nowhere to stay.

On the other hand, he also wanted to see what Fairy Tail was really like. After all, he was an anime fan who had watched thousands of series.

Fairy Tail was one of his favorite shonen adventure anime.

Seeing Kaito's interested expression, Makarov immediately added fuel to the fire: "There are beautiful and cute girls in my guild, you know, and they really admire the strong."

"Whoosh!"

Kaito turned into a streak of golden light and landed in front of Makarov, saying with a straight face: "Since you're so sincere, I'll go take a look. If there aren't enough beautiful girls… no! If I'm not satisfied, I'm leaving."

"No problem!"

The old man and the young boy looked like they had just made some shady deal, both showing knowing smiles.

Suddenly, the sound of many footsteps appeared, mixed with voices of the townspeople.

"Over there! The explosion happened over there! There was golden light! It must be mages fighting."

"Surround the whole area!"

Makarov's face changed drastically: "Oh no! The Magic Council! Hurry…"

Before he could finish saying "run," he saw Kaito turn into golden light and disappear, leaving the poor old man behind.

Makarov was stunned and grumbled: "So fast!!"

Magnolia Town

Contrary to Kaito's expectations, the train ride from Hargeon to Magnolia took only about three hours.

When Kaito arrived in front of the Fairy Tail guild building, he felt like he was dreaming.

Makarov stood in front of him, arms spread wide, looking extremely proud: "Little brat, welcome to Fairy Tail!"

Soon, under Makarov's lead, Kaito walked into the Fairy Tail guild.

"Welcome back, Guild Master!"

"Guild Master! Welcome back!"

As soon as they entered, everyone greeted Makarov. Kaito carefully observed the surroundings.

"Guild Master, where did you pick up another kid? Our guild is turning into a kindergarten." A man in a white coat with blue trim, hair neatly combed but overall looking sloppy, said to Makarov.

"That's right! Macao is correct! Guild Master, if I go out on jobs my colleagues will laugh at me." Sitting beside Macao, a man with a pompadour hairstyle, green T-shirt, and holding a pipe—Wakaba—also spoke up.

Makarov replied irritably: "Then go out and work! You're even worse than children."

Kaito acted like he didn't hear. Well, he didn't consider himself a child anyway. Looking around, there really were many kids. He could vaguely recognize familiar faces among them.

That pink-haired kid seemed to be Natsu, the protagonist of Fairy Tail anime. And that girl in armor with striking red hair should be Erza.

Huh… so he had crossed over before the Fairy Tail story even began.
