Chapter 1
This night, Ella is going to give her body to an ugly old man she has just married despite the growing whispers in town; about her desperation to make easy money.
Everyone is saying one thing or the other about her marriage to the most ugliest but very rich man in town.
Some are saying she married him because of his money, some are saying she's greedy, yet others are saying she's in love with him.
"huh!, give me a break!" Tina her cousin said . She is of the opinion that Ella is desperate not in love.
But yes, they're right, Ella needs the money, her only brother is going to die if she sits there and do nothing about it.
The 20 years old Ella is left alone in this world with her brother, ' meaning they were orphans. He's all she's got in this world, so damn it!,… she will do anything to keep her brother alive.
The doctor had said her brother needs a kidney transplant, that is the only way out for him.
Ella had seen an advert on the news about the richest ugly man who need a beautiful young damsel to marry and she also saw all the huge benefits and price tag to who ever is willing to marry him.
Looking at the man's face on the news paper one can only conclude that this is like beauty and the beast, but hey! Her brothers life is on the line and Ella had jumped right in to this opportunity without thinking twice.
Among the women who responded to the advert, Ella is the youngest and the man choose her.
Both Ella and the ugly man who only introduce himself as Williams had tied the knot in the newly built Catholic Church in East-Town with only few people in attendance, and I mean only Williams family in attendance except for those of Ella's family members who want to see how humiliating it will be for her to marry a dead dog.
Tina, on the other hand was so happy that at least Ella has finally married the ugliest beast man, meaning she will no longer have any competition. She breaths some fresh air of relief and smile.
Now is time to consummate their marriage, Ella's heart beat wildly as she sat down in the hotel room waiting for Williams to come in.
She can't imagine giving herself to an ugly looking man, she has always dreamed of a fairytale love for herself, "but I guess this is real life." She muttered, sitting on her hotel room, still waiting for Williams to come in.
"What is keeping him?" she yells in her head, she wanted to get down with this and get done with it so he can give her the price money, the money is enough to take care of her brothers kidney transplant.
She waited and waited but Williams is taking forever to come in. She got up, walk back and forth in the room, she was so worried that he's not showing up.
She got up and put on her clothes, she hurried to the hospital sobbing on her way there.
How disappointing can it be?... She thought she got this, she thought she made a perfect plan to save her brother, she needed the money to pay for that transplant, but now what?... She married a man who disappeared on the night they were supposed to consummate their marriage so he can give her the money to save her brother.
She sob all the way to the hospital.
"Doctor, I'm sorry, I couldn't get the money, but I promise to look for the money…."
"Ella where have you been?" The female doctor cut her off.
"And why are you apologizing?.. A good Samaritan by the name Patrick has just cleared your bills and the transplant done successfully" the doctor told Ella with a big smile on her face.
"What! Patrick?.... Who is Patrick?"
"I don't know, he said his name is Patrick, I think you have a secret admirer" The doctor said smiling mischievously at Ella.
"Secret admirer?" Ella asked surprise. Who could that person be?
"Yes" the doctor said smiling at her " You needed to be here, he's so handsome… oh my God!... He's tall, masculine, has the perfect figure of a gentle man" the female doctor said blushing as she keeps talking and her face turning pink.
Ella was confuse, "Could this be Williams?... No! Williams doesn't have all this wonderful futures the doctor was describing, Williams is old and ugly…. so who could it be?
She left the doctor to see her brother who is doing just fine.
"Thank goodness you are alright now" Ella hugs her brother who is now sitting down and looking alright.
"Yes, I heard from the doctor that a good Samaritan came here and pay for my treatment, is a pity I couldn't meet him" Peter said with a weak voice.
"Is ok, just rest, if it is God sent, he will come back" Ella said hoping to meet this kind man.
Two weeks has passed, but no news of Williams or Patrick. Ella was beginning to think that all of this was a huge joke.
"Hey, look at you, such a bad luck, is not enough that your parents died leaving both of you to suffer, the ugly man you married disappeared also, dumpling you on your honeymoon night" Tina mock Ella outside their house.
Ella don't mind her, let's go inside" her brother pulled her in. They both sat down but not talking to each other. Her brother was just staring at her.
"Okay, say what you want to say and stop looking at me like that" Ella sounding more authoritative, knowing what her brother will say.
"Do you have to..?"
"Yes, I can't let you leave me in this world all alone, you are all I've got" Ella said, tears fill her eyes.
"Is fine, am not mad at you, I will work hard and repay whoever that Patrick was that helped us out" Peter said hugging his sister.
"Young master, is done just as you instructed sir" a bodyguard bows to tell Patrick about Ella.
"Fine, prepare me, I have to met her, after all, she's my wife, I married her with my money"
"Yes, sir"
Ella steps out of the house, going to work when all of a sudden 3 black SUV cars pulled over in front of her.
An ugly old man steps out of the car, followed by his bodyguard.
Ella froze, her heart skips in multiple times, she thought he was gone for good, why did he come back?
"Look old man, I am no longer your wife, you broke the contract and disappeared on our honeymoon, beside you didn't give me the money again, so why are you here?" Ella ask with so much arrogant in her voice.
"Is that how to welcome your husband?" a guard ask Ella when Patrick motioned for him to speak.
"Wait a minute, so the old man can't even speak?" Ella ask in amazement.
" Ok, am done with this nonsense" she walked past them and into the street.
"Young master what should we do?" the guard ask as they watch Ella walk carefree out of their sight.
"Let her go, after all, she's just after the money."
"But sir, grandfather and mother wants you to bring the girl today, how are you going to deal with that?"
"Don't worry, I Will get another girl"
"What?" all five of the bodyguards shouted at once. They have gone through a lot of stress to disguise him just to get Ella to marry him, they don't want to go through that stress again.
"Let's go"
"Yes Sir"
"Just as Ella was about entering her workplace, everyone stand in awe of her, they can't believe she's back to work after getting married to her ugly billionaire husband.
"What is going on guys"
"You are supposed to be in your one billion dollar mansion, what are you doing here?"
Ella scoffed, who told them she got married huh?... How news fly faster this days.
"Ella how could you be this desperate?... Just look" one of the girls pulled out the newspaper. "just look at what you married for money" they all laughed at her.
"Oh wait!... But where is the money?... Why is she back here, looking for work huh?" they all make jokes of her and laugh the hell out of her.
Just as she was about to turn and leave, the SUVs pulled over at her work place.
"Get in ma'am, young master request your presence"
"What?... Who is young master?" she ask, but turning back to see her coworkers staring in amazement at the expensive cars, she adjusted her shoulders and walk majestically into one of the cars.
She needs to save her face in front of them, even though she didn't know where they are taking her or who is this young master that requested for her presence.
Ella found herself in a dreamy mansion too good to be real, she slap her face just to make sure she was still awake.
"Where is this place?" she ask the guard.
"This way ma'am" he pointed at the main door that lead to Patrick large guest room. Ella turned to ask the guard where the young master was but he just disappeared into tin air.
"What the!" she looks around like a lost puppy.
"Come forward" a deep, commanding but enchanting voice called at her. She couldn't see his face because he was facing her with his back.
The smell of his expensive perfume filled the air, Ella just couldn't get enough of it, she only wish for him to turn around so she could see the beautiful face behind that handsome figure standing near the large glass window.
"Are you the young master looking for me?" Ella ask in a small voice, afraid to anger him.
For the first time in Ella's life she felt afraid of someone.
"What is your name?" the deep voice ask, only realizing that he didn't ask her name when they where getting married, or wait?.. Yes, the priest called her name but Patrick didn't give a damn whatever her name was.
"My name is Ella" she said bowing her head as if she was obedient.
"Do you know why you are here?" he ask.
"No" Ella was curious now.
"But you have managed to remember that you got married to an old billionaire last 2 weeks." Patrick ask and Ella's eyes lite.
"Yes, but the old man disappeared anyways" her tone indifferent about getting married to an old ugly man.
"Is it because of the money?" Patrick ask, a little anger in his voice, he can't imaging what has gotten into girls of this days, willing to marry that old billionaire because of money!.
"Excuse me"
Patrick turn to reveal his mesmerizing face, Ella grasp… she just couldn't stop staring at him while Patrick waited for her to defend herself.
"Yes, you are well excused, what do you have to say?" Patrick ask.
"hmm!...Huh!.. Me?" she was dumbstruck by his beauty.
"Ah, no, no is not about the money, is because of my brother's…"
"Cut the bullshit, all of you poor people behaving the same way with money, now listen up" Patrick walked dangerously towards Ella, scaring her to death.
"I am Mr. Patrick Williams, the old man you married two weeks ago "
"What?" Ella blinked in amazement.
"I have a girlfriend who lives abroad, but my grandparents are on my neck to get a wife before the month ends, they want me to introduce a woman to them today, and that is where you come in" Ella listened with close attention as if studying for exam.
"From today till when my girlfriend comes back in 2 years, you will be Mrs. Patrick Williams.
Only then will your contract end and you will walk away with 1 billion, two cars, one mansion and a 5 years contract to walk at MS group of companies."
Ella scoff, she didn't hear anything else Patrick was saying, she only heard 1 billion, 2 cars, a mansion and 5 years working contract.
"But wait a minute, how can you be both Williams and Patrick at the same time?"
Ella ask and Patrick just scoff at her.
"Having you heard of disguise before?... I disguise myself so my girlfriend won't know what I just did, am doing this to please my grandparents, now enough talk" Patrick snap his finger and two maids emerge from within, dragging Ella away.
