Chapter 6 - Tobirama’s Shadow

Chapter 6:

The second seal did not open willingly.

It tested him.

Kakashi stood before the hidden wall deep beneath the archive, fingers resting lightly against stone that wasn't stone at all. Fūinjutsu layered so tightly it felt less like a barrier and more like a living thing—calculating, judging.

This wasn't Hatake work.

This was Tobirama Senju's hand.

Kakashi let his chakra bleed through—not power, not intent.

Precision.

Water chakra first. Calm. Structured.

The seal shifted.

Then lightning—threaded thin, disciplined, controlled.

The seal paused.

Finally, the storm.

Not unleashed.

Contained.

The barrier parted with a sound like ice cracking under slow pressure.

Beyond it lay a narrow chamber. No torches. No decoration. Only a stone pedestal and three scrolls resting atop it, each marked with the same symbol:

飛雷

Flying Thunder.

Kakashi swallowed.

"So you really did plan ahead," he murmured.

He approached carefully.

The first scroll was the smallest—and the most dangerous.

Hiraishin: Conceptual Foundations

Not instructions.

Principles.

Chakra anchors. Spatial sympathy. Vector locking.

Kakashi read slowly, his mind racing.

This isn't teleportation, he realized. It's forced relocation along a predetermined spatial relationship.

Minato had refined it into art.

Tobirama had built it like a weapon.

Cold. Efficient. Lethal.

Kakashi closed the scroll with care.

The second scroll was thicker.

Hiraishin: Storm Adaptation Notes (Incomplete)

His breath caught.

"Theoretical successor: subject exhibits dual affinity with extreme control."

"Hypothesis: spatial displacement may be stabilized using rotational chakra flow."

Kakashi's storm chakra reacted instinctively, tightening into a perfect spiral.

"…You were waiting," Kakashi whispered.

Waiting for someone who could finish it.

The third scroll felt heavier than the others.

Not physically.

Morally.

Edo Tensei — Containment Variant (Restricted)

Kakashi did not open it immediately.

Tobirama's reputation weighed heavily here. The jutsu that defied death. The technique that should never have existed.

He broke the seal anyway.

What he found wasn't what Orochimaru would later steal.

This version was incomplete by design.

No mass resurrection.

No enslaved armies.

Only targeted recall. Short duration. Absolute containment.

A tool for information, not war.

"The dead are not weapons."

"They are witnesses."

Kakashi exhaled slowly.

"…You didn't trust anyone else with this."

He rolled the scroll shut and returned it to the pedestal.

That one would stay buried.

For now.

The storm chakra inside him had gone still.

Focused.

Kakashi sat cross-legged on the cold stone floor and opened the second scroll again.

Hiraishin + Typhoon Release.

Rotational stabilization.

He smiled faintly beneath the mask.

Minato had moved like a flash of light.

Kakashi would move like a storm front—not instant, but inevitable.

A presence brushed the edge of his senses.

Ancient.

Measured.

Not chakra—intent.

For a moment, Kakashi felt as if someone stood behind him.

Red eyes. White hair.

A man who had built a village with blood on his hands and logic in his heart.

Do not waste this.

Kakashi bowed his head.

"I won't," he said quietly.

The presence faded.

When Kakashi rose, he resealed the chamber—rewriting the access condition.

Storm Chakra + Hatake Blood + Senju Pattern Recognition.

Only him.

As he climbed back toward the surface, the weight of what he carried settled fully.

He now possessed:

The foundation of Flying Thunder God

A path to evolve it beyond Minato

Knowledge that could resurrect legends—or shatter the world

And somewhere above, Danzo was moving pieces on a board he no longer understood.

Kakashi stepped into the light.

"The shadow's mine now," he murmured.

And the storm agreed.
