My awkward expression made my wife burst into laughter, covering her mouth as she giggled.
"Did I hit a nerve?" Li Ke glanced at me, raising an eyebrow teasingly.
I steadied my mind, calming myself down, pulled out a chair, and sat down steadily before replying lightly, "Don't listen to Nannan's nonsense."
"Whether it's nonsense or not, you know it yourself." Li Ke tossed out the remark casually and then ignored me, picking up her chopsticks to start eating.
After just a few bites, Li Ke looked up, her expression finally shifting as she said, "Nannan told me you never cook at home. Before coming, I had mentally prepared myself and even brought anti-nausea medicine. But who would've thought—your cooking skills are actually pretty decent."
I rolled my eyes at her. "So, as I said, don't listen to Nannan's nonsense."
"That's a different matter," Li Ke retorted before diving back into her meal.
My wife chimed in, "Alright, dear, you're the best, okay? Hurry up and open the wine."
As she spoke, she winked at me. I immediately understood, uncorked the red wine, brought three wine glasses, and poured a drink for everyone.
"Come on, let's make a toast first to welcome the beautiful Li Ke to our home," my wife proposed, raising her glass.
Li Ke and I raised our glasses as well. Before I could speak, Li Ke cut in, "I know your drinking capacity all too well. I appreciate the gesture—just take a small sip."
After clinking glasses with us, she tilted her head back and downed nearly half her glass.
My wife took a tiny sip and set her glass down.
I held my glass up to my nose and sniffed—it didn't seem any different from ordinary wine. Taking a small sip, I found the sharp, bitter taste almost unbearable. I couldn't understand why something so hard to swallow could be so expensive. In my eyes, Erguotou could easily outclass it by miles.
"Hey, Liao Fan, that's not fair. I drank almost half my glass, and you only take a tiny sip?" Li Ke glared at me.
Squinting slightly, I pretended to savor the wine, slowly swirling the glass as I said, "Red wine is meant to be appreciated."
Li Ke burst out laughing, patting her chest in amusement. "Oh, please! A man who's only ever had Erguotou trying to act all sophisticated? I've drunk more red wine than you've had water, and you're telling me this?"
My wife stepped in to defuse the situation, clinking her glass against Li Ke's and saying, "Don't mind him. Let's just enjoy our drink and pretend he's not here."
Li Ke rolled her eyes dramatically, picked up her glass, and finished the remaining half in one go. Under the table, my wife gently nudged me with her foot. I caught on immediately, quickly refilling Li Ke's glass and saying, "You're right. What does a country bumpkin like me know? You two should drink more since you're the experts."
My wife and I worked together to keep the drinks flowing. By the end of the meal, nearly all of the bottle of red wine had ended up in Li Ke's stomach.
As for me, I forced myself to finish my glass. My wife, who never drinks, had only taken a few sips, and her face was already flushed red—clearly feeling the effects.
Meanwhile, Li Ke only showed a slight blush and spoke a bit more loudly, but otherwise seemed completely unaffected.
Dinner was coming to an end, and my wife, feeling tipsy, clung to Li Ke's arm and cooed, "Coco, have you thought about what I mentioned to you earlier today?"
Li Ke shot her a glare and retorted impatiently, "That's absurd. Besides, this is a matter between you and your husband. How could an outsider get involved?"
I feigned confusion and asked, "What are you two talking about? What's this about us as a couple?"
Suddenly, Li Ke grinned mischievously and winked at me, saying, "Your wife wants me to be your sex advisor and give you two live guidance in the bedroom."
I nearly choked on my own breath. Was this really the solution my wife had come up with?
My wife subtly winked at me and continued shaking Li Ke's arm, pleading pitifully, "Coco, my dear friend, both Liao Fan and I are so clueless and unimaginative in bed. I can't ask anyone else for help—only you can save us."
Li Ke rubbed her forehead, looking utterly exasperated.
Seeing Li Ke remain silent, my wife persisted with her coquetry, "My dear friend, could you really bear to see me go through life without ever experiencing true sexual satisfaction?""
With that, she fixed Li Ke with a pitiful gaze. I could almost feel the frustration radiating from Li Ke.
I sat there awkwardly, unsure what to do, yet inwardly feeling a surge of anticipation.
Finally, Li Ke spoke up, "I'm completely speechless. Only someone as naive as you could come up with such an outrageous idea."
My wife clung to Li Ke's arm, shaking it as she begged, "Please, my dear friend, just say yes."
Li Ke tried to pull her arm back but failed, grumbling irritably, "Stop shaking me! I'm not drunk from the alcohol, but you're about to shake me into a stupor."
Hearing this, my wife shook even more vigorously and declared, "I'll stop if you agree."
"This isn't just about the two of us—your husband is involved too. Is he even okay with this?" Li Ke pointed out.
"I agree," I blurted out without a second thought.
Li Ke stared at me in astonishment and sighed, "You two... you're just... a perfect match." She then rested an elbow on the table, cradling her head in her hand while shaking it in disbelief. "Equally dull, equally absurd. I really don't get how you two ended up together."
Seizing the opportunity, my wife pressed on, "Coco, see? Even my husband agrees. Please help us out, won't you?"
Li Ke closed her eyes in resignation. After a long pause, she suddenly slammed the table and declared, "Fine! I'll throw caution to the wind today. It's not like I'm the one performing live, and if neither of you cares, why should I?"
"Really?" My wife exclaimed excitedly, throwing her arms around Li Ke.
"Wait," Li Ke pushed her away and said, "But let me make this clear: if I'm going to guide you, both of you have to fully cooperate. If you're shy or hold back, then there's no point in doing this."
My wife nodded eagerly and promised, "I'll cooperate fully."
Li Ke then looked up at me, and I immediately replied, "We'll do whatever you say."
Li Ke nodded and asked, "How far do you two want to take this?"
My wife glanced at me and said, "The more extreme, the better. You know me—I've always been so reserved. But now, I want to become a... a..."
Seeing her struggle to find the words, Li Ke finished for her, "A total slut, right?"
"Mm." My wife bashfully lowered her head, her face already flushed from alcohol becoming even more rosy.
Li Ke no longer kept a straight face. She reached out and pinched my wife's cheek hard, giggling as she said, "As your best friend, I could tell all along—deep down, you're just as much of a shameless slut as I am. Since you've come around, I'll help you fully unleash that repressed wild side of yours."
