Chapter 356 - Chapter 356

Lynn's hand immediately ignited with flames interwoven in gold, red, blue, and white.

The flames danced in Lynn's palm, contracting, expanding, rotating, and then becoming still.

Anyone could sense the immense lethality contained within this magic.

The two Ministry of Magic Professors remained silent for a long time.

Their gazes shifted from Lynn's hand to his face, then back to his hand again. Only one thought occupied their minds:

Is this student a proper Hogwarts student? What kind of decent person needs a wand for simple magic, while that obviously aggressive magic requires no wand at all?

"Professor, my demonstration is complete."

Lynn clenched his palm, and the flames vanished instantly. He tucked his hand back into his pocket and waited for the two examiners' reactions.

After a long while—

"Er… good." Professor Marchbanks's voice finally rang out. "Please have the next student come in."

The subsequent exams for Transfiguration, Herbology, Astronomy, Divination, Care of Magical Creatures, and Potions all concluded smoothly.

Though "smoothly" was a loose term, as quite a few minor incidents occurred in between.

For instance, during the practical Divination exam, the task was to predict the examiner's future through palm reading.

When it was Lynn's turn to make a prediction, he could not help feeling that Professor Marchbanks's expression was off.

She sat at the examiner's desk, her brows slightly furrowed and her lips pressed into a thin line, radiating an unmistakable aura of I am not happy.

Lynn almost thought that his fabricated prophecy had offended her.

His prophecy was not actually outrageous. He had said:

"There is fog in your destiny. After the fog disperses, I see an Owl flying from the north, clutching a letter in its talons."

This was not "making it up."

It was "making it up with finesse."

It had an animal, a direction, an action, and a result. It was far better than students who merely said, "You will encounter a surprise."

Lynn left the classroom feeling somewhat uneasy.

It was not until after the exams ended that he learned it had not been his fault at all.

It was all Harry's fault.

Harry had taken the exam before him. While reading Professor Marchbanks's palm, he had mixed up the life line and the wisdom line, declaring that Professor Marchbanks should have passed away last Tuesday.

Passed away last Tuesday.

That was no longer a "prophecy."

That was a "curse."

Even if Lynn had been deliberately trying to pick a fight, he could not have come up with such a prophecy.

A living person was standing right in front of you, yet you claimed that she was already dead.

Whoever heard that would have to be in a bad mood.

It was a testament to Professor Marchbanks's composure that she had not lost her temper on the spot.

The final exam subject was History of Magic.

Anyway, it had been like this every year since Lynn arrived at Hogwarts. He did not know whether it was some unwritten tradition.

As long as one endured this most tedious subject, it meant that the exams were finally coming to an end.

However, an unexpected incident occurred during this final History of Magic exam.

The exam hall was in the Great Hall, with the four House tables arranged in four rows, occupied respectively by Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin students.

Professor Marchbanks and Professor Tofty sat on either side of the hall, invigilating.

Their gazes swept across the exam hall—from left to right, then right to left; from the front rows to the back, then from the back rows to the front.

Having just finished his paper, Lynn had already started napping on his desk.

If the exam had not forbidden early submission, he would have returned to the dormitory long ago.

Just as Lynn's breathing became steady, his heartbeat slowed, and his consciousness began to blur—

A loud bang suddenly startled him awake.

He looked toward the Gryffindor table, following the source of the sound.

He saw Harry lying on the ground, his face pale as he called out:

"Stop… don't touch him… run…"

Lynn's expression changed instantly.

Just as he was about to rush over and check the situation, Professor Marchbanks shouted from the podium, stopping the students who wanted to leave their seats.

"Everyone, sit down!"

Professor Tofty stood and walked step by step toward the Gryffindor table, arriving at Harry's side.

He crouched down, checked Harry's pulse, and lifted his eyelids.

"I suspect he is under too much pressure." Professor Tofty sighed, looking up at Professor Marchbanks. "When I was in school, I also could not sleep well during exams."

He paused, his gaze shifting from Professor Marchbanks to the worried students.

"I'll take him to the School Infirmary first."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Harry sat up from the ground as though nothing had happened.

Before he could even react, he found himself floating in the air.

"Mr. Potter, please do not move around," Professor Tofty said from below. "You need to rest now."

"Professor, I'm fine, really!" Harry spoke urgently and quickly.

His body twisted in midair as he tried to get down, but Professor Tofty lifted his hand slightly, causing Harry to float even higher.

"My exam paper isn't finished yet!"

Professor Tofty ignored him completely. His pace quickened, and he showed no signs of frailty as he moved swiftly toward the exit.

"It's fine. I took a look at it—it barely passes…" His voice drifted back from the corridor, gradually growing fainter.

This incident did not attract much attention.

The exams were over, and History of Magic had been the last subject. Once it was finished, it meant that the holidays had officially begun.

The students were eager to welcome the two-month vacation ahead. Never mind Harry—even if Lord Voldemort himself appeared, he could not take away their joy.

But Lynn was different.

The moment the exam ended, he ran straight to the Headmaster's Office.

However, Harry had arrived even before him.

When Lynn reached the door of the Headmaster's Office, he heard faint voices coming from within.

"Headmaster, I really saw it." Harry's voice came through the door. "Lord Voldemort has caught Sirius, and they are planning to go to the Department of Mysteries to steal something…"

"Calm down, Harry."

Dumbledore's voice remained calm.

"As far as I know, Sirius is currently elsewhere, solving a problem Alastor encountered. He has not been captured by Lord Voldemort. He is very safe."

"But…" Harry wanted to say more.

Ding-dong—

A message notification sounded outside the door, and Harry's expression changed inside the room.

Dumbledore, however, remained calm. He glanced at the closed door and said, "Come in."

Under Harry's surprised gaze, Lynn pushed open the door and entered, looking thoughtfully at the Magic Phone in his hand.

"Mr. Lynn, is there anything I can help you with?" Dumbledore asked.

"Not a moment ago, but now there is."

Lynn walked over to Dumbledore and handed him the Magic Phone.

The screen lit up, displaying a message.

[Platinum Gentleman]: The Dark Lord plans to raid the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic tonight. He wants me to lead a group of Death Eaters and ambush Potter in the Hall of Prophecy.

After reading it, Dumbledore became even more certain of his conclusion.

Everything Harry had seen was a trap set by Tom, and its purpose was to lure Harry in.

"Alright." Dumbledore handed the Magic Phone back to Lynn.

"Harry, I think you should take a walk on the grounds with your friends and enjoy the upcoming holidays." His voice was very gentle. "Just as I said earlier, Sirius is very safe."

He paused, his gaze lingering on Harry's face for a moment.

"And do not forget that I am having you learn Occlumency. Perhaps this is exactly what Lord Voldemort wants you to see."

"Alright…" Harry sighed. "Then goodbye, Headmaster… and Lynn."

After confirming that Harry had truly left, Dumbledore rubbed his brow with a headache.

His gaze fell on the pile of unread letters on his desk.

"Child, what is your take on this?"

Lynn pondered for a moment.

"If Lord Voldemort cannot be killed… then I'll just rush over and slaughter the Death Eaters."

The corners of Dumbledore's mouth twitched.

He should not have asked that question.

After a period of silence, he took a deep breath and said to Lynn:

"You should simply go back and enjoy your holiday."

When he said this, Dumbledore had already prepared every possible argument Lynn might make. He had even thought of how he would respond to each one.

Yet he did not expect Lynn to agree immediately.

"Very well, Headmaster. I will."

After saying this, Lynn left the Headmaster's Office without looking back.

He could already guess what counterarguments Dumbledore would make, so it was better to leave now. If he happened to run into Dumbledore later, he would simply say that his rebellious phase had arrived.

Yeah… I'll just do that.

Dumbledore was also stunned by Lynn's straightforwardness.

He looked suspiciously toward the direction Lynn had gone, wanting to stop him and ask for clarification.

But after thinking it over, he decided otherwise.

It is better not to ask why he was being so obedient. If I accidentally trigger the child's rebellious phase, I will not even have a place to cry.
