Chapter 49 - Nagato’s Rinnegan! A New Member of Akatsuki

"Uchiha Feng. Please take care of me."

Ning Feng wore a bright, harmless smile. Yet no matter how Konan, Nagato, or the others looked at him, they simply couldn't connect this innocent-looking child with the terrifying existence who had just dominated the battlefield.

Beside him, Konan quickly recounted to Nagato and Yahiko what had happened earlier with the pamphlets. After hearing it, the admiration already present in their eyes deepened even further.

The warm-hearted Yahiko immediately said, "I always thought our persistence had been meaningless… I never imagined that there were still people who truly understood us!"

"That's right," Nagato followed up, equally enthusiastic. "Our Akatsuki has always struggled to grow. There are very few companions who truly agree with our ideals—especially someone as young as you, Uchiha Feng. You're practically one in a million…"

"You're truly the great savior of our Akatsuki!"

As Nagato spoke, Konan watched the scene with a smile, then suddenly laughed out loud, the heavy burden in her heart finally easing completely.

Ning Feng looked deeply at Nagato and Yahiko at this moment. He couldn't help thinking that in the original story, if Yahiko hadn't fallen victim to the joint scheming of Hanzō and Danzō, Akatsuki would never have gone down such a twisted path.

The Nagato and Yahiko before him now—full of passion and hope for the future—were their truest selves.

"There's no need for such praise," Ning Feng shrugged. "I just acted when I saw injustice."

Just as he was about to say more, Yahiko exchanged a glance with Nagato and Konan. After receiving their nods, Yahiko spoke again:

"Uchiha Feng, would you be interested in joining our Akatsuki?"

"Of course, we know you're a shinobi of Konoha. Normally, joining another organization would make you a rogue ninja. But Akatsuki, at least for now, is only a mercenary group—you should be able to join."

As he said this, Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato all looked at Ning Feng with hopeful expressions.

Afraid that Ning Feng might hesitate, Nagato quickly added, "If you have any concerns, we won't force you. But if you do join Akatsuki… you'd absolutely be one of our core members!"

"The benefits would be enormous. You wouldn't need to travel around persuading other countries like we do—you'd just hold a title. After all, you saved Akatsuki. We can't let that go unanswered."

Faced with such heartfelt enthusiasm, Ning Feng shrugged and finally nodded.

For someone who knew the Naruto storyline inside and out, joining Akatsuki had immense advantages.

What's more, if one day he really did become a rogue ninja, he'd at least have somewhere to go.

"F-Fine then."

Ning Feng deliberately put on a reluctant expression.

Sure enough, the moment he agreed, Konan, Yahiko, and Nagato all broke into broad smiles. Konan, in particular, hugged Ning Feng tightly without hesitation.

It had to be said—while Konan's figure might not rival Kushina or Uchiha Mikoto, she had her own unique charm.

Ning Feng even took the opportunity to sneak a peek inside…

"Hey, little one," Konan said with a blush, pushing his wandering hands away with mock annoyance.

"Girls aren't something you can just look at casually, you know. If you do, you'll have to marry me!"

Naturally, Konan would never associate something perverted with the harmless-looking Ning Feng. Her face flushed slightly as she teased him.

Nearby, Nagato and Yahiko were filled with envy.

They had harbored feelings for Konan for a long time but had never dared to confess.

"Then in the future, I'll marry Sister Konan and bring her home!"

Ning Feng said it with an innocent, clueless expression, making Konan laugh even harder, her face full of shy delight.

Nagato and Yahiko had never seen Konan like this before and couldn't help but stare, completely entranced.

"Ahem, ahem, ahem!"

Thankfully, a few other Akatsuki members were nearby. One of them, feeling extremely awkward, quickly cleared his throat.

Only then did everyone pretend that nothing had happened and disperse.

Soon after, Konan gave Yahiko a look. Yahiko straightened up and produced a set of clothing from a ninjutsu scroll.

It was a black cloak embroidered with red clouds—the Akatsuki uniform—handsome and imposing.

Beside it was a cyan-colored ring, engraved with the single character "空" ("Void").

"This is the attire of Akatsuki members," Yahiko explained. "If you wish, you can wear it at any time. As for the ring—it's a symbol of Akatsuki."

"And this character 'Void' represents your exceptional status within Akatsuki. If you encounter other Akatsuki members elsewhere, you can even use it to command them."

After saying this, Yahiko took a deep breath. "But today also made us realize something—without strength, true peace is impossible."

As he spoke, Yahiko took Nagato by the hand and brought him before Ning Feng.

"I've always believed that Nagato, with his Rinnegan, would be the bridge leading the shinobi world to peace. Uchiha Feng, if possible, I hope you'll help Nagato as much as you can."

"Even… if necessary, you can take Nagato's Rinnegan. As long as Akatsuki's ideals can live on, that's enough."

Yahiko didn't know why, but he felt that Ning Feng was someone he could trust—his words carried a sense of entrustment.

"Don't worry," Ning Feng said with a shrug, pretending to agree.

Deep down, he truly admired people like Yahiko, who pursued ideals with such sincerity.

"So Nagato, Konan," Yahiko continued, "if one day I'm no longer here, go to Konoha and find Uchiha Feng."

The two of them nodded heavily.

Ning Feng's performance today had already completely won their hearts.

They weren't fools.

If a five-year-old could already be this terrifying, what about at six… seven… eight?

Akatsuki, at this stage, was also quietly grabbing hold of a powerful thigh. Not to mention—Ning Feng was an Uchiha.

In the time that followed, Konan, Nagato, and the others warmly hosted Ning Feng, taking him to tour the scenery of the Hidden Rain Village.

What they didn't know was that Ning Feng's actions today hadn't merely changed their lives—

They had changed far more than that.

After finally bidding farewell to Nagato, Konan, and the others, Ning Feng at last found time to open his system notifications.

Sure enough—he had expected rewards, but the moment he opened the system messages, even he couldn't help but freeze in place in shock.
