Your Imperium didn't even know about such a huge incident happening right under its nose, and still needed us Aeldari to clean up its mess.
Not only did the Aeldari have to clean up the Human mess, but then some barbaric monkeys from who-knows-where ambushed and severely thrashed them, reducing the already sparse Aeldari fleet to just a few ships.
Kenmyo Isayama could hear a hint of grievance in the voice of this Aeldari fleet leader, and couldn't help but be amused.
"Don't you Aeldari understand why your reputation is so bad, given what you've done?"
Orks fight for fun, and the T'au expand for the Greater Good. Only the Aeldari have always been a mystery; people can never figure out what they truly want.
Even Orks couldn't wreak havoc across the entire universe, but the Aeldari did. They birthed Slaanesh and created the Eye of Terror.
The Aeldari are very peculiar; they might start a fight with you for some strange reason, or come to help you for another strange reason, and then for yet another unknown reason, they'll open fire on you again.
Crucially, they are also extremely arrogant, looking down on every other race, believing themselves to be the most noble.
Moreover, attacking Shrine World Kaelerrang was a sudden interference in another nation's internal affairs. The Aeldari being beaten was not unjust at all. If they had informed the Imperium beforehand and reported it to the High Lords of Terra, they wouldn't have been so badly defeated.
However, even if the Aeldari and Imperial legions had formed an allied army, Kenmyo Isayama felt that the Imperial high command wouldn't have done so.
There's no helping it; the Aeldari's reputation is already ruined, whether they are Asuryani or Dark Eldar.
Even the Blood Axes mercenaries among the Orks are more trustworthy than the pointy-eared ones; they are simply despised by everyone, even dogs.
When Kenmyo Isayama used his Bolter on this arrogant commander, he immediately received a notification from the warhammer simulator.
His side quest completion status had been updated.
"Hint: Your side quest completion status is as follows:"
"1. Death of the Inquisitor (Quest content: Kill the rebellious Inquisitor Tossak-Rome, ascertain Tossak-Rome's location on the Hive World Adelie, and eliminate him)."
"Hint: This quest has been completed."
"Due to the excessively high completion rate of Side Quest Two, some changes have occurred. You have directly skipped Side Quest (Round Two) and Side Quest (Round Three), triggering Side Quest Round Four (Final)."
"Side Quest 4: Battle for Survival (Quest content: Encircle Shrine World Kaelerrang, currently the Aeldari craftworld fleet has been defeated (Completed))"
"You have gained 12,000 Honor Points. The one-time special equipment [Tears of the Living Saint] has been placed in your system inventory."
"Note: Extract the weapon's attributes after the simulation ends. Due to the equipment's characteristics, otherwise there is a very high probability of attracting the attention of the various Chaos Chosen Champions under The Four Great Chaos Gods."
"System Warning:" These words were written in blood-red letters. The system warned Kenmyo Isayama not to take out the [Tears of the Living Saint] within the simulated world.
Honestly, Kenmyo Isayama was somewhat curious. What exactly was so good that it wasn't even allowed to be taken out, and would immediately attract the attention of these Chaos Chosen Champions?
The power of these Chaos Chosen Champions, bestowed by the Warp's Chaos Gods, was almost god-like, with some even approaching the strength of the Imperium's Primarchs.
Listen to advice and you'll eat well. Kenmyo Isayama didn't have the strength to confront these big shots yet. It was better to keep a low profile, return to his own little corner, and then investigate.
"All side quests completed, main quest now activated."
In Kenmyo Isayama's vision, all the words for the side quests began to be dyed with an eerie purple and pink interwoven flame, dancing, and countless demons exuding depraved pleasure surrounded Kenmyo Isayama.
The previously hidden main quest was now completely revealed.
"Main Quest: Defiled Holiness - The Fall of Pleasure"
"Difficulty Level:??? (Note: Due to the divine war that broke out, Slaanesh is preoccupied, but this is not a cause for complacency.)"
"Note: High-ranking Chaos Lords may appear!!!"
"Quest Synopsis: The pursuit of pleasure is an instinct of living beings, but it is absolutely not a reason for betrayal! This is blasphemy against the Emperor, an unforgivable betrayal!"
"Shrine World Kaelerrang is the resting place of an Imperial Saint. Now, the most loyal servants of the Imperium have fallen, corrupted by Slaanesh's Chaos Daemons."
"They covet this world, and even covet the Saint's body."
"Execute all traitors! Wreak the Emperor's wrath! Drive out all evil."
"Quest Reward: 100,000 Honor Points"
"(Note: Honor Points symbolize Imperial merits, are extremely difficult to obtain, and can be exchanged for items in the Merit Store.)"
The rewards were generous: 100,000 Honor Points. Kenmyo Isayama could acquire the power armor that the current High Inquisitor of the Inquisition had worn countless years ago, after countless slaughters.
However, the difficulty was also extremely high. Kenmyo Isayama first had to find the traitors lurking within the Ecclesiarchy and then execute them.
During this process, a high-ranking Chaos Lord under Slaanesh would be lurking in the shadows, potentially sneaking out to strike Kenmyo Isayama.
A high-ranking Chaos Lord was terrifying to even think about. It was likely that one glare would be enough to end Kenmyo Isayama's simulation.
It was a different dimension of power. Chaos Lords are the leaders of the traitorous Chaos Space Marines, and only the few most favored and powerful Chosen Champions under the Warp's Chaos Gods can hold this position.
If Kenmyo Isayama accepted Slaanesh's demands and became a Chaos Chosen Champion, after being blessed by Slaanesh, he would likely become a high-ranking Chaos Lord, the strongest figures of The Four Great Chaos Gods in the Warp, apart from Daemon Primarchs.
Kenmyo Isayama's "never-met" Mentor, Ahriman, is a high-ranking Chaos Lord of Tzeentch, the Lord of Change, directly commanding the entire renegade Thousand Sons Legion.
Now, Kenmyo Isayama was going to compete with a high-ranking Chaos Lord on the same level as his Mentor Ahriman, trying to snatch food from such a powerful individual.
Kenmyo Isayama silently looked at the Black Templars in their big black armor nearby, feeling a distinct lack of security.
"I need to find a way to call for reinforcements."
Kenmyo Isayama looked at the Shrine World Kaelerrang, ravaged by Aeldari fighter bombings, and thought silently.
The only intact 'Eternal Faith' port remaining on Shrine World Kaelerrang housed an imposing Ecclesiarchy army, whose members were mostly Battle Sisters, Penitent Engines, Ecclesiarchy Priests, and other individuals. They wore unified, standard armor symbolizing their respective ranks.
Standing before them was the Planetary Governor of this Shrine World Kaelerrang, Cardinal Bishop Mikkel, the head of the Ecclesiarchy branch. He wore a tall hat and carried a massive pure gold scepter. Beside this elder were the high-ranking officials of this planet, dressed in the traditional attire of the Ecclesiarchy.
Now, without even needing to look up, a massive black steel beast, blotting out the sky, slowly descended accompanied by the roar of its engines.
This twenty-kilometer-long battleship, built during the Great Crusade, was imbued with a sense of history and still bore the scars from its recent engagement with the Aeldari fleet.
The 'Eternal Crusade' alone occupied most of the dock area, while Kerigran's original orbit, once filled with Aeldari warships, was now covered by the rest of the Black Templars' fleet.
It could be said that Kenmyo Isayama had achieved the prerequisites for the Black Templars to conduct orbital bombardment and initiate Exterminatus.
When Cardinal Bishop Mikkel saw the pathway slowly extending from the ship's bridge, and when they walked before him, the Cardinal Bishop revealed the composure and unflappability of a host. He bowed slightly.
"Welcome, esteemed Space Marines, and Inquisitor of the Inquisition."
The Black Templars' Sword Brethren stood in a line behind Kenmyo Isayama. Beside him was Adebelard, the First Marshal of the Black Templars' Crusade.
These figures from the most savage nascent legion among the Space Marines, black giants like black mountains, guarded Kenmyo Isayama from behind, exuding an oppressive aura that made it hard to breathe.
Since the Black Templars were nominally there to protect Inquisitor Horst-Eisenholm, the head of the supervisory team arriving at Shrine World Kaelerrang was Kenmyo Isayama, not the Black Templars' Marshal. Strictly speaking, the Black Templars still had to obey Kenmyo Isayama's command.
As the negotiator, Kenmyo Isayama smiled slightly and stepped forward.
"I am Inquisitor Horst-Eisenholm of the Inquisition. It's a pleasure to meet you, Cardinal Bishop Mikkel."
"This is Marshal Adebelard, First Marshal of the Black Templars' Crusade, and the others are the Astartes Monkss of the Sword Brethren."
Marshal Adebelard of the Black Templars merely bowed his head slightly as a greeting, appearing extremely aloof. The other members of the Sword Brethren were similarly aloof.
After all, the Black Templars' crusades of devotion have only one purpose: to kill, to purge all heretics from this world, and to unleash the Emperor's wrath.
Cardinal Bishop Mikkel was not surprised by the Space Marines' coldness.
"Thanks to the help of all you esteemed individuals, our Shrine World Kaelerrang was able to survive the alien bombardment."
"Thank the God-Emperor, and thank you for your dedicated assistance. I praise you on behalf of the three billion most loyal subjects of the God-Emperor on Kerigran."
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Cardinal Bishop Mikkel felt the time was right and said,
"I have already arranged accommodation for all you esteemed individuals. Please rest for a while. I also took the liberty of preparing a banquet for your welcome."
"However, due to the recent Aeldari attack, our accommodations might not be up to standard. Please bear with us, esteemed individuals."
"A welcome banquet? That sounds like too much trouble, Cardinal Bishop Mikkel."
Kenmyo Isayama said with a smile.
Cardinal Bishop Mikkel shook his head.
"How can that be? You are the saviors of our Kerigran world, our most honored guests."
"No, no, it seems Cardinal Bishop Mikkel, you haven't understood my meaning."
Kenmyo Isayama smiled, gesturing to two members of the Sword Brethren nearby.
"If you truly wish to welcome us, perhaps Cardinal Bishop Mikkel, you could accompany us to the interrogation room."
"Let's discuss how you betrayed the nation."
"What are you saying? I am a Cardinal Bishop of the Ecclesiarchy!"
When Cardinal Bishop Mikkel felt himself being lifted by two Astartes Monkss, he finally panicked, especially when he saw the young Inquisitor's smile and thought of the Inquisition's methods, which sent shivers down his spine.
He struggled frantically, saying,
"To slander one of the Emperor's most loyal servants like this, be careful, I will report you to the Inquisition."
When they saw their leader, the highest-ranking person on this Shrine World Kaelerrang, being held by the massive Astartes Monkss like a chick, unable to move, Cardinal Bishop Mikkel's subordinates—Battle Sisters, Ecclesiarchy Priests, and other personnel—instinctively aimed their Bolters at Kenmyo Isayama and his group.
As the sounds of Bolters being cocked echoed, the previously amicable scene immediately became charged with tension.
Facing the Ecclesiarchy's guards, their nominal comrades, the Astartes Monkss of the Sword Brethren, led by Marshal Adebelard, all stood in front of Kenmyo Isayama, forming an unyielding wall of defiance. They, too, raised their large-caliber Bolters, aiming them at these people.
If they dared to fire the first shot, the Black Templars' astartes would deem them heretics and proceed with a brutal cleansing operation.
Regardless of rank!
When they opened fire on them, those obstructing the Black Templars would become enemies.
Seeing this predictably messy situation, Cardinal Bishop Mikkel snorted coldly and remained silent, as if wanting to see how Kenmyo Isayama would resolve it.
But all Kenmyo Isayama did was tell the Black Templars' Astartes Monkss not to be overly tense, as the situation hadn't escalated to that point yet.
"I am Inquisitor Horst-Eisenholm of the Inquisition."
He stepped out from the Black Templars' protection, facing the hundreds of dark muzzles in the hands of the terrified people. Kenmyo Isayama merely said in an icy tone,
"My actions represent the will of the Emperor and are overseen by the God-Emperor!"
This was a matter of righteousness!
The authority of an Inquisitor of the Inquisition comes directly from the Emperor himself; they can prosecute any official of the Imperium.
"Our Inquisition intelligence agency has determined that Cardinal Bishop Mikkel's ideology and conduct have severely deviated from the original intent of the Ecclesiarchy, violating the Imperium's eight regulations, suffering from a severe lack of ideals and beliefs, and indulging in extravagant pleasures."
"If any of you show favoritism or engage in aggressive acts, then I will consider you all traitors!"
Kenmyo Isayama took the Chainsword from his back and drew it, unsheathing the blade, like a proud knight fiercely loyal to the Imperium sounding the horn of a duel.
"Given your actions, I can reasonably suspect that the Imperial citizens of this planet have severely abandoned the Emperor's faith!"
"And have been corrupted by Chaos Daemons."
"At that time, I will sign an Exterminatus to bring down the Emperor's wrath and judge you heretics."
If Kenmyo Isayama's words had caused a great uproar and extreme mental breakdown among them, then hearing Kenmyo Isayama's words, Black Templars' Marshal Adebelard's equally cooperative action, directly aiming the 'Eternal Crusade's' macro-cannons, taller than buildings, at the already seriously wavering Ecclesiarchy guards.
The dark, eighty-meter-deep Imperial macro-cannons even began to spark internally, seemingly already charging.
The terrifying energy contained within them caused the temperature to rise by several degrees.
This was the final straw that broke their mental resolve. When the first sound of a Battle Sister dropping her weapon was heard, more and more followed, echoing one after another. Soon, no one on the scene was holding a gun.
Seeing this, Cardinal Bishop Mikkel thought of his actions, which could not be hidden under the scrutiny of an Inquisitor of the Inquisition.
His heart sank, and he finally passed out.
"It's over, completely over."
