Chapter 106 - Hook

"According to officials from the Legal Department, this operation has already arrested over 100,000 relevant personnel, but this is just the beginning."

In a suite, Kenmyo Isayama, leaning back in a chair, had dyed his hair gold and styled it into a pompadour; he no longer looked like an Inquisitor.

His current persona was that of an arrogant noble official, dissatisfied with the service of a certain 'adult entertainment' venue and proposing a rectification of the entire industry.

Kenmyo Isayama smiled as he watched the animated news anchor on the screen and the 'criminals' being paraded, hooded and escorted.

Following Kenmyo Isayama's directives, the entire middle tier of the Hive World began a 'green' de-eroticization process, not only targeting illicit underground venues but also implicating some underground casinos in the crackdown.

The enforcement was unprecedented in Adelie Hive World's centuries-long history; Kenmyo Isayama intended to thoroughly cleanse this sinful land, uprooting all the filth that had taken root and been buried deep underground for ages.

"Isn't your goal to sacrifice to Slaanesh?"

"Then I'll just pull the plug, making everything you can sacrifice disappear."

Kenmyo Isayama had the Legal Department separate the arrested men and women into different prisons, one for men and one for women, with each person housed in a four-square-meter single cell to prevent fraternization.

The Legal Department invested significant manpower and resources into the centralized supervision of these individuals, while also conducting a concentrated rectification of these illicit venues, unearthing a large quantity of contraband related to Warp heretical gods.

As Kenmyo Isayama had imagined, the 'Wild Horse Gang's' venues were tainted with the foul stench of Slaanesh, using special incense, and their interior panels were crafted from Slaanesh's sacrificial offerings, subtly inducing various evil, filthy, and unbearable powers.

Kenmyo Isayama felt that the Legal Department here was utterly incompetent, allowing Chaos to unknowingly erode to such an extent.

Slaanesh's cult was just one part; there were all sorts of diverse beliefs here, with even alien deities blooming everywhere—good heavens, it was truly blasphemous.

If Kenmyo Isayama's other Inquisitor colleagues were to come, they would likely start by firing several macro-cannons from a Black Ship to quell the situation.

As Kenmyo Isayama thought this, Elena's voice suddenly rang in his ear:

"Mr. Elfman, our hotel seems to be surrounded by civilians."

Kenmyo Isayama was not surprised; instead, he found it remarkable that the opposition had endured for so long before reacting.

But to send civilians to cause trouble—that was too low-class, wasn't it? Kenmyo Isayama was clearly targeting criminal organizations, and he was, after all, a high-ranking Imperial official. For his hotel to be besieged without a proper reason—that was outright treason.

"What's the reason?"

Hearing Kenmyo Isayama's question, Elena seemed a bit hesitant to speak.

"The situation is very complex. Some people are looking for their missing wives, others for their missing girlfriends, and some are upset that their favorite technicians have been arrested. So they've all gathered to demand an explanation."

"Also, Adelie's unique Qixi Festival is approaching, which has made these people quite agitated."

Upon receiving Elena's reply, the amount of information was so overwhelming that Kenmyo Isayama didn't know what to say for a moment.

Well, he hadn't expected that his major operation, executed by the Legal Department, would uncover countless broken families?

Releasing them according to their demands was simply not possible.

Kenmyo Isayama pondered for a moment and then said to Elena:

"Arrest all these people and throw them in prison. Let them gaze at each other from across their cells."

Kenmyo Isayama was about to give a few more detailed instructions, but he suddenly heard a very faint, almost inaudible, unusual sound coming from the corridor not far away.

Most people might dismiss it as an illusion, but Kenmyo Isayama and Elena could not miss such an anomaly. They exchanged glances and confirmed it.

There was an intruder in the house.

"Useless, all of them useless."

The uninvited guest, wearing a black cloak that completely concealed his figure, was Tossak-Rome, a traitor from the Inquisition.

He had been waiting to extend his influence over the middle tier, to let the glory of his god illuminate this world and gain even greater power of pleasure.

But, unfortunately, some scoundrel, using his authority, had completely shut down all of Tossak-Rome's operations, without missing a single one. His plan had fallen apart just before dawn, and how could that not enrage him?

All the old hands in law enforcement had been killed, and Tossak-Rome couldn't find anyone to do his bidding.

This time, to deal with this high-ranking Imperial official who had appeared out of nowhere, Tossak-Rome had to act personally to be safe, as he didn't have any skilled assassins capable of such a mission under his command.

"Can't wait until night?"

Hearing the movement inside the bedroom, Tossak-Rome sneered.

He had received some intelligence: this official had not left his room, staying with his secretary. What else could they be doing?

But just as he was about to open a crack in the door, intending to pour colorless and odorless poison into the room's air to kill the despicable pair, a dark gun barrel silently appeared in his line of sight from the other side of the door.

"How is that possible!"

Tossak-Rome's eyes widened instantly. He saw the muzzle flash as the bullet exited, and the sense of danger in his heart immediately reached its peak.

Then came two loud 'bangs' of gunfire and the sound of flesh tearing, followed by the explosive shattering of the wall. These horrifying sounds intertwined, immediately attracting the security personnel outside.

But as they hastily burst through the door, their expressions tense, they were stunned to see a surging heatwave, visibly rising, accompanied by a shockwave from an explosion.

As the explosive flames, like a fire dragon, were about to engulf them, time seemed to flow backward. The endless fire dragon gradually receded, leaving only scorched ground and ceiling panels. These violent flames rapidly moved inward.

Finally, they converged into a small fireball in the center of someone's palm, a dazzling white light filled with terrifying heat.

Kenmyo Isayama, rubbing the fireball with one hand, held a bloody, intact severed arm in the other, examining the blasphemous tattoos on it.

Tossak-Rome, caught off guard, had decisively detonated the powerful bomb he carried, its force so great that Kenmyo Isayama's room was completely destroyed. Thanks to Kenmyo Isayama's psychic powers, neither he nor Elena sustained any injuries.

But under the cover of the explosion, Tossak-Rome, leaving only a bloody severed arm, had vanished.

Kenmyo Isayama coldly ordered the bodyguards below:

"From now on, seal all entry points to the middle tier. No one, absolutely no one, is allowed to leave."
