Originally, the Blood God's gift, the [Eternal Hunt], was dismantled by Kenmyo Isayama and integrated into the [Summoning System].
Only then could Kenmyo Isayama boldly summon three Flesh Hounds at once in front of his uncle without worrying about the consumption of mana points.
Unlike the equipment effect, the biggest gain from integrating it into the [Summoning System] was that the mana points consumed by Kenmyo Isayama to summon each Flesh Hound into the real world were the same, and there were no subsequent costs.
The limit for the Flesh Hounds Kenmyo Isayama could control was four, because he had only just unlocked five [Summoning Slots]. One was occupied by the Norn Queen, leaving exactly four slots to fill with Flesh Hounds.
Sacrificing the fifth Flesh Hound allowed Kenmyo Isayama to sustain the cost of having four Flesh Hounds fighting simultaneously.
He thought it was quite worthwhile. Currently, summoning four Flesh Hounds required 60X4, which equals 240 mana points, whereas the original [Eternal Hunt] equipment required 420 mana points.
This was a difference of a full 180 mana points. The most important resource for a Psyker is mana points; every bit saved counts, and this meant Kenmyo Isayama could cast several more Psychic Spells.
If the mana points run out, even an Alpha-level Psyker can only stand there helplessly.
As for Kenmyo Isayama's fourth Flesh Hound, he secretly hid it in Yomi-nee's shadow. The incident involving Sister Mei had also served as a warning to him.
Kenmyo Isayama did not want to lose his only older sister again, so he provided Yomi-nee with insurance.
"Sir, we have arrived."
Hearing the driver's words, Kenmyo Isayama immediately stopped pretending to sleep, opened his closed eyes, and glanced out the window.
"Alright, Master, just let me off on the side of the road."
Kenmyo Isayama got out of the taxi. Before him was a vast expanse of mountains completely covered in lush trees, prompting him to sigh in surprise.
"Is this really Tokyo?"
The road sign next to him read "Enzanroku," so it must be correct. He had called a taxi based on the location given by Suguru Geto.
"Tokyo actually has such remote places. It looks almost like the countryside."
Next to the road was also a sign for "Private Second Ise Grand Shrine Academy," but it looked dilapidated, making one wonder if the sign hadn't been replaced in decades.
Who would have thought that this seemingly dubious shrine academy was the location of the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High School, one of only two Jujutsu education institutions in Neon?
That shrine academy, advertised externally as a private religious school, was the cover for Tokyo Jujutsu High. It appeared at first glance to be a deceptive institution, but it was actually the cradle for training Jujutsu Sorcerer.
Kenmyo Isayama came to Tokyo Jujutsu High to find a solution for the unusual Cherry Blossom Carving on his arm and to find out the origin of this object.
The Killing Stone incident made Kenmyo Isayama realize the importance of knowledge. It is said that the collection of books at Jujutsu High is no less extensive than that of any of The Big Three Families, so he came here to try his luck.
"Let me take a look."
However, Kenmyo Isayama encountered difficulty before even heading up the mountain, struggling to find a possible intersection based on the map.
There was nothing he could do; the map on Kenmyo Isayama's phone was so simplistic it looked like a child's scribble.
Crooked lines vaguely showed the way, a few rough sketches of landmarks, and the little figures marking the "destination" made up this messy map.
This thing was drawn by Suguru Geto's friend—the white-haired, sunglasses-wearing youth who liked to show off last time. Hearing that Kenmyo Isayama was visiting for the first time, he enthusiastically drew this map to guide Kenmyo Isayama up the mountain.
As for the two of them, they couldn't come down the mountain to meet him because they had tasks assigned by their teacher.
The only part of the map Kenmyo Isayama thought was decent was the two little figures: one wearing sunglasses and one with a bun hairstyle. Both figures were happily waving, seemingly welcoming Kenmyo Isayama's arrival.
"Sigh, I just feel like this isn't reliable."
Kenmyo Isayama sighed.
The map indicated something like: from the big rock, the third tree from the left has a fork in the road, and that's the entrance.
But who knew which big rock it was? After searching around, Kenmyo Isayama finally found the marked entrance on the map through guesswork.
"I finally see it."
After Kenmyo Isayama squeezed through a spot, the view instantly opened up before him.
A rustic staircase path paved with white stone bricks appeared before his eyes. Above the path, vermillion Torii gates followed one after another, and both sides of the road were lined with subsidiary shrine buildings.
Kenmyo Isayama looked up the mountain. Utility poles were hidden among the trees. This small path led straight up, and he could see that the entire route was lined with these Torii gates. Judging from the map, he just needed to follow this path up the mountain.
"This path is really long. It feels like I'll be walking for a while."
"Never mind, I'll just treat it as exercise."
The moment Kenmyo Isayama first stepped onto the stairs, a drowsy entity located in a magnificent palace deep beneath Tokyo Jujutsu High sensed his arrival and seemed quite intrigued by it.
After Kenmyo Isayama passed an unknown number of Torii gates, he finally reached the summit, where someone was already waiting.
Upon seeing Kenmyo Isayama's figure, the person waiting immediately approached, looking very enthusiastic.
Kenmyo Isayama noticed that the person approaching was an energetic young man with thick eyebrows and large eyes, wearing the Jujutsu High uniform.
"Are you Isayama-san?"
Kenmyo Isayama nodded.
"That's great! Since Geto-senpai and Gojo-san suddenly asked me to do this, I was worried I wouldn't make it in time."
The student sighed in relief, smiled, and began to introduce himself.
"Hello, my name is Yu Haibara, a first-year student at Jujutsu High."
"I was entrusted by Geto-senpai and Gojo-senpai to be your guide."
Hearing that Geto had sent him to meet him, Kenmyo Isayama nodded and replied:
"Hello, Haibara-kun."
Kenmyo Isayama said,
"There's no need to be so formal. You can just call me Kenmyo."
"No, no, that won't do. Isayama-san is the same generation as Geto-senpai and the others."
Hearing Kenmyo Isayama say this, Yu Haibara quickly waved his hands in refusal, looking flustered.
Kenmyo Isayama then realized that the concept of hierarchy is particularly strict in Neon.
He did not insist but continued:
"Then, Haibara-kun, just call me Isayama-senpai."
"That works."
Yu Haibara accepted the title and continued:
"Isayama-senpai, you truly are a very kind person."
Kenmyo Isayama asked,
"Why do you say that?"
"Hahaha, because I'm quite confident in my judgment of people."
Yu Haibara scratched his head and said.
"Kind?"
Kenmyo Isayama rubbed his chin. "Your judgment of people is really... inaccurate. Even I'm afraid of the things I've done."
"Isayama-senpai, please stick close to me. Our school is quite large, and it's easy to get lost."
Yu Haibara said.
