Chapter 70 - Sign

"I can just sign it, kid."

Fushiguro Toji, with an expression of annoyance, held a parchment-like object covered in blood-red patterns, examining the text on it carefully.

Fushiguro Toji had now fully recovered to his state before fighting Kenmyo Isayama; he was very healthy, and aside from his tattered clothes, his spirit and condition were at their peak.

However, the only troublesome thing was Fushiguro Toji's "Ugly Treasure"; this ugly little Cursed Spirit had become dispirited and weak.

Thanks to Kenmyo Isayama's treatment, Fushiguro Toji was out of life-threatening danger.

But his old partner, "Ugly Treasure," which had been kept as a weapon arsenal for many years, was still in critical condition.

At the very top of the parchment were two words, "Contract," written in a sacred-looking font, emphasizing its solemnity and seriousness.

This was a "Non-Aggression Pact" drafted, no, soon to be formally signed, by Kenmyo Isayama for Fushiguro Toji. Once signed, Kenmyo Isayama and Fushiguro Toji would each mind their own business, going their separate ways with no further obligations to each other.

Kenmyo Isayama's obligation was to heal Ugly Treasure after the contract was signed.

Fushiguro Toji, however, had to abide by the following stipulations and could not violate any single rule. Once violated, the penalty mechanism would take effect.

Below are all the clauses:

Clause 1: Fushiguro Toji's assassination mission against Isayama Yomi is canceled, and he cannot accept any future missions that would harm Isayama Yomi.

Clause 2: Fushiguro Toji may not accept any mission to assassinate Kenmyo Isayama.

Clause 3: Fushiguro Toji's Cursed Tool, the Soul Release Blade, will temporarily belong to Kenmyo Isayama and will only be returned after a ransom of 500 million yen is paid. It may not be seized during this period.

Should Fushiguro Toji violate any of the above clauses, he and his family will be executed.

"That's right. If you are certain, then sign your name at the end of this contract."

Kenmyo Isayama smiled at Fushiguro Toji, his smile was truly eerie, and his gaze at Fushiguro Toji was very unsettling, as if he were looking at a clown about to sign a "humiliating and rights-ceding" contract of servitude.

This was quite abnormal, because the contract clearly stated only three clauses in black and white, and besides the last clause about owing 500 million yen, which was more painful than being killed for Fushiguro Toji, the other two were within acceptable limits.

Why Kenmyo Isayama's expression was like that was truly perplexing.

But at this moment, Kenmyo Isayama was already using his mind-manipulating ability to induce Fushiguro Toji to sign his name on the final clause.

Fushiguro Toji looked at Kenmyo Isayama's smile; although he felt a bit uneasy, it quickly dissipated, because in his opinion, this contract had no possibility of being established.

Especially Clause 1 and Clause 2.

The assassination missions arranged were originally insignificant. When Fushiguro Toji kills someone, does he really need to be constrained by a mission?

Can't Fushiguro Toji occasionally do some charity and just kill whoever he wants?

This kid is truly naive.

He originally thought this kid would use the Reverse Cursed Technique to drive up the price, but he never expected such few clauses.

"Ugly Treasure" absolutely had to be healed; only when "Ugly Treasure" served as Fushiguro Toji's weapon arsenal, wrapped around him, was he the terrifying "Heavenly Restraints Tyrant."

"This kid really has a lot of tricks up his sleeve."

Only after Fushiguro Toji repeatedly confirmed that it was harmless to him did he sign the contract.

Actually, Fushiguro Toji also felt a bit ridiculous inside.

He himself was an owner of Heavenly Restriction; without discussing how a Cursed Technique-generated contract could supervise him, there was even a question of whether it could bind him.

But this was exactly what Kenmyo Isayama wanted to see. After all, to reassure Fushiguro Toji, he had even covered the entire contract's structure with Cursed Energy exchanged from mana points. If this guy still didn't sign, then he was truly ungrateful.

Perhaps if Fushiguro Toji refused to sign, Kenmyo Isayama would kill him on the spot.

Fushiguro Toji's life was given by Kenmyo Isayama; killing him again, would it be difficult?

"Should I teach this simple kid a good lesson later?

Fushiguro Toji shook his head. Forget it, after all, he wasn't a bad person.

"The kid is so simple that I feel bad bullying him."

Thus, the two, each with ulterior motives, wrote their names on the contract.

"Contract established!"

A majestic voice appeared in the ears of both Fushiguro Toji and Kenmyo Isayama.

"Hahahahaha."

Kenmyo Isayama's smile became even more irrepressibly wide. Once this contract was completed, it would be irreversible.

"What's so funny?"

Fushiguro Toji still didn't know.

But the next second, the parchment suddenly burst into green flames, burning away all the text on the surface of the contract.

Sacred? Now the contract looked completely different, filled with an ominous, bloody aura.

The originally simple three rules had expanded to nearly a hundred.

When Fushiguro Toji saw the second clause, which originally stated he couldn't harm Kenmyo Isayama, it had transformed into: 'Priority must be given to obeying all of Kenmyo Isayama's commands.'

This absurdity in his heart was beyond words.

"It's not over yet."

Kenmyo Isayama revealed a malicious smile; his words in Fushiguro Toji's ear were no less than a devil's whisper.

So, the next moment, the single parchment contract suddenly split into layers, each layer of text glowing as if on fire.

Rip, rip, rip... The contract parchment began to separate, and eventually, nearly thirty ultra-thin contract parchments were pulled out from within, each wrapped in a blood-red aura.

Each one contained hundreds of clauses; it was truly difficult for Kenmyo Isayama.

Fushiguro Toji nearly collapsed in despair at this sight. He had clearly signed one contract, so why did all these contracts bear his name?

This wasn't waste paper; it had become his contract of servitude.
