Chapter 11 - 11

Chapter 11

Ella Whitmore

My eyes swept over the man for half a second. He was tall, but not as tall as Kael.

He didn't look as scary as Kael, but that won't deceive me. He was still a werewolf. They were dangerous creatures.

A lump formed in my throat, and I swallowed hard, my fingers tightening at my sides as I backed the wall, my back pressing into it.

"Alpha… We need to talk," The man spoke, his eyes didn't leave mine, like he couldn't wait to eat me up.

Wait! Did he say Alpha? Kael wasn't just a werewolf, but their alpha?

Kael glanced at me before going over to meet the man.

"She needs to leave," the man said in a low tone, but I heard him anyway.

His voice was filled with rage, his gaze burning.

"You can't bring a human here. You know it's forbidden," he continued.

Yes, please. Let him take me out of here. I really need to get out of this place, please.

"You know this is against the Pack's rule. How can you trust her? She's a human! What if she's a spy? Humans are vile creatures. You can't—"

"Storm!" Kael's voice thundered through the atmosphere, and my knees buckled beneath me.

The man's face flashed with fear for a moment, then he lowered his gaze, "I'm sorry, Alpha. It's just that—"

"She is my mate…"

Mr Storm… Wait… should I call him Mr? What do they call each other here?

Well, whatever… Storm lifted his gaze to Kael, his flashing with shock, his lips parted, and a slow 'what' escaped them.

"It doesn't matter if she's a human. She is my mate, and I'm not going to let her leave,"

My stomach twisted with unease, cold seeping through my body.

"How sure are you that he's your mate? Forgive me, Alpha… but I think you must be mistaken. How could the moon goddess pair you with a mere human? They're noth—"

"Storm!" Kael's snarls echoed in the atmosphere again, his veins pulsing, lips parted, breath rough, and fingers growing into claws.

My knees weakened.

Kael doesn't look like he's ready to let me go, and I will never stay back here… not with these monsters.

Maybe I could use this opportunity to escape while they're arguing.

With that in mind, I tiptoed towards the door, even holding my breath so it won't get his attention.

I'm sure the wolves out there won't stop me. They would rather be happy that I was leaving. Kael is the only one who wants me here by the way.

Just as I reached for the door handle, a harsh wind gushed behind me, and the next second, Kael stood before me, blocking me from the door.

I backed away.

"You can't leave, Ella. You're my mate,"

I scoffed, my breath shaky, "I am not your mate. Stop saying that. It doesn't make sense," but my voice wasn't firm, as if I wasn't sure of what I was saying.

"Nothing makes sense here. I don't belong here. Please let me go,"

"You're mine, and that makes this place your home," His voice was firm, yet gentle.

My eyelids fluttered, lips parted, but no words came out.

"This… You know this is wrong, right? This is abduction, and you'll be punished heavily if I report you to the cops,"

I sure looked like a fool saying that. Who threatens werewolves with cops?

A smirk curled his lips as he backed away, "the cops?"

"You can't keep me here! It's a crime! Let me go!" I snapped, pushing him back roughly.

"Open this damn door! I refused to be stuck here with you," I threw kicks on his chest, but he didn't say anything.

He suddenly grabbed my hand, slamming me gently into the wall, pinning my hands above my head with just one hand as he leaned in, face hovering over me.

His breath warmed against my face.

I pressed harder into the wall, my fingers fisting at my sides.

"... Don't try too hard, Ella…" his hand moved to my face, fingers brushing my skin, and thumb hovering over my lips. But he didn't touch it.

My pulse quickened, not with fear, but something strange. Something I couldn't explain.

My gaze dropped to his parted lips, and my core tightened.

I subconsciously leaned into him, as if something was pushing me.

I could hear my heart pulsing, my body burning with desire, aching for him as I stepped forward, pressing into him.

I surely shouldn't be doing this… I should fucking look for a way to get out of here, but here I was, melting in his arms.

My hand subconsciously moved to touch him, but just before it did, he backed away, his eyes didn't leave mine.

"You can't escape…" Then he turned away.

My eyes followed him, flickering behind to Storm. He stood there, glaring at me.

I didn't know he was still here.

"Leave us," he said to Storm, and he glanced at me before leaving.

Kael turned to me once it was just us, and said, "the mate bond won't let you,"

I stiffened.

How did I go from getting cheated on by Jasper, to getting my fate tangled with this man who keeps saying what I don't understand… or perhaps what I do not want to understand rather.

"This is your new home," he added.

I scoffed, swallowing hard, "and what if I say that I don't want this?"

He paused and stared, his eyes conflicted… as though he was being tortured… like he was at war with something I had no idea of.

"What if I do not want to be your mate? What if I don't want this life? What if…" I stepped away from the door, eyes locked on him, "what if I want to leave here and go back to my normal life?"
