The Great Hall of the Academy was really overwhelming. There were thousands of students standing in rows. The Awakening Ceremony was a deal at the Academy. It was not something that the students did at school. The Awakening Ceremony was like a day when everyone found out what would happen to them. The students were all very scared. They were also hoping for the best. The faces of the students showed how scared and hopeful they were. The Awakening Ceremony was an important day for the students, at the Academy.
"Jin-woo! Over here!"
I saw Soo-yun waving hard. She was sixteen but Soo-yun had this way about her that made people look at her from all the way, across the room. Soo-yun just had a lot of elegance. When I got to Soo-yun I could feel the other students staring at me in a way. To them I was some kid that the Cho family was helping out. The Cho family is really well known and respected. I was living with them, which made some people at school treat me badly.
"You look like you have seen a ghost " Soo-yun whispered to me her eyes looking at my face that was really pale. She asked me if I was feeling nervous. Soo-yun wanted to know if something was wrong, with me.
"Something like that " I said, my mind was still over the place. I did not know how to tell her that I was a person who came from a different world, a transmigrator, from another world.
The lights in the room started to get really dim. Then this huge crystal thing, in the middle of the stage started making a noise. It was vibrating in a rhythm. This thing was called the Awakening Stone. The Awakening Stone is a piece of the core that broke off when the Cataclysm happened.
The instructor yelled out "Next Kang Jin-woo", in a voice.
The room went silent. I felt Soo-yuns hand give my hand a squeeze before I stepped forward. My heart was beating fast like a bird that wants to fly away. If I do not get a rank the Soo-yun world will be a tough place for me I thought to myself. I really need to get a rank or I will be in big trouble, in the Soo-yun world.
I reached out with my hand. The moment my fingertips touched the stone everything just stopped. The world stopped. I mean the world, with all its noise and movement it just stopped.
BOOM!
A big column of lightning shot out of the stone. It went through the ceiling and, into the sky. The force of it was so strong that it made the teachers fall to their knees. The air became thick. It smelled like electricity and something very old and powerful. The students. Covered their eyes because the bright red light was too much to look at. The crimson lightning was really scary. It made everything feel heavy. The students were afraid of the lightning and what it could do.
The Headmaster said "What is this power?". He sounded really shocked. He was shaking over. "Is this an SSS-Rank power?" the Headmaster asked. "Are we seeing the birth of a Sovereign today?"
The storm stopped just as fast as it started. The red light went away. All that was left was a weak glow, on the stone.
The instructor looked at the readout and his face changed. He was excited. Then he felt sick. He coughed to clear his throat. Said in a loud voice making fun of something:
"Kang Jin-woo. Rank: F. Potential: None."
People started laughing loudly it was, like a big burst of water suddenly coming out when a dam breaks. The laughter just came out at once it was so funny that everyone couldn't help but laugh. Laughter was everywhere it was a happy sound.
"All that show for an F-Rank?"
The stone has to be broken. That guy is a big talker who always loses.
I was standing there not moving all. This was not because I was feeling sad or anything. The reason I was not moving was that there was this window that was a light blue color and it was floating right in front of me just a few inches from my nose. The weird thing about this window was that nobody else could see it it was like it was invisible, to everyone but me.

"I am fine Soo-yun " I said, my voice is very calm. Soo-yun I want you to know that I am really fine. I have never felt better than I do now Soo-yun.
As I walked toward the exit my eyes were fixed on the notifications that were popping up in my vision. The notifications were really getting my attention. I mean the new notifications were what I was looking at.
