Damian crossed his feet and rested his chin against his left palm, his expression calm as his gaze slowly swept across the court. He could see the lingering excitement on the faces of the ministers and officials, but beneath it were other emotions that they tried desperately to hide.
Some were relieved to see him alive. Others were still trying to comprehend how he had survived his battle with Duke Dantalion. There were also those who had quietly hoped that the battle would be the end of him.
Damian's gaze eventually settled on the Kitsune, Negan, and Succubus officials, and the faint smile on his lips widened.
"I'm sure so many of you were hoping Dantalion would be my last day. I can see how disappointed you all are." Damian said, his tone carrying a trace of amusement.
