The ride home was quiet, mostly because Clara was anxious. She feared the meeting might go wrong, and that would spell the end of her relationship with Damian.
Usually, Damian would have comforted her, but he did not think it was necessary right now. Once she stepped into his home and saw everything for herself, she would understand there was nothing to worry about.
It did not take long before they arrived, but Clara was left stunned as they drove into the massive, secluded compound. She stared out the window, taking in the full view of the silent yet breathtaking surroundings that framed the mansion.
"You live here?" Clara's head snapped toward him, shock written all over her face.
She had always assumed he lived better than her because of his position, but this… this was beyond anything she could have imagined. Not even a senior partner could afford a place like this.
"My girls love space, so yeah. We live here." Damian shrugged, as though it were nothing.
