Damian opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling.
For several seconds, he remained still, enjoying the unfamiliar sensation spreading through his body. His mind was clear, his limbs felt light, and the exhaustion that had plagued him after Zepar's attack had disappeared completely. Even the lingering discomfort from his damaged soul seemed less noticeable.
He had slept well before, but this was different.
It felt as though he had been stripped of every burden weighing upon him and allowed to rest in a way he had never experienced before. His body was refreshed, his mind sharp, and his energy reserves felt considerably fuller than they had the previous night.
Damian exhaled contentedly.
'Now this is what sleep should feel like.'
He sat up and rubbed his eyes, his long hair spilling over his shoulders. The familiar bedroom came into view. Sunlight filtered through the windows, illuminating the room in soft golden hues.
His gaze eventually settled on the sofas near the windows.
