Chapter 4 - Ch3 - Spy Among Us

The siblings managed to secure the imposter with a rope, Sylvie carried the imposter on her shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"Wait.. why am I supposed to carry her?!" She retorted.

"The script says so," Felix replied — walking beside her while looking at the script.

"But you're the man!" She turned to face him.

"Says who?" As it turns out.. Felix had used the script to grow out his hair, mimicking a girl's hairstyle.

He would indeed do anything to avoid responsibility.

Sylvie and the imposter stared at Felix with disappointment. She pinched her temple, trying to soothe her secluded mind.

She stepped towards her brother, looking up at his face with an indifferent — gaze mirroring his.

Without a warning, she pulled at his long hair, making his head sideways.

"Ah-! Ahhh! You're burning my scalp! Stop!" Felix begged.

In the end, Felix's hairstyle returned to normal and he was forced to carry the imposter on his shoulder instead.

And yet we couldn't help but wonder, has the admin finally taken responsibility?

"Tch... for the record, I still hate the narrator," Felix said.

Suit yourself. Oh, look, flying boulder.

"Where?!" He exclaimed, looking in every direction possible.

Finding none, he realized that he had fallen to the oldest trick in the book. To a non-physical being.

Felix gritted his teeth; at a glance, it seemed like he was going to lash out at something that didn't exist.

But before he did, Sylvie was already writing in her script, she wrote; "Mute 'the narrator' for two chapters.." wait, hold on that's not—

[Narrator has been muted ]

Felix looked at Sylvie, confused yet amused. He hadn't expected his sister to do something nice for him.

He nudged playful at her sister's arm, offering her a brotherly smile.

However, Sylvie felt embarrassed at her brother's affection. She returned the nudge with more force than necessary as Felix and the imposter on his shoulder were sent crashing into the nearby wall.

"Owch!" He yelped, his face pressed against the concrete wall.

"Oh.. uh, sorry for that. Are you ok?" Sylvie asked softly, there was a hint of guilt in her voice.

Felix turned to face his sister. Blood was trickling from his head down his chin, perhaps he accidentally hit his head a bit too hard on the wall.

"Brother! You're bleeding!" She rushed forward, checking on her brother if there were any other injuries.

"Are you okay? Can you walk?" She asked, concerned.

For a moment, Felix didn't respond. But then...

He raised his hand slightly and showed a thumbs-up gesture. Indicating that he is alright.

Sylvie let out a sigh of relief and nodded. She then led her brother to the staff lounge.

Once they arrived, Sylvie told him to toss the imposter anywhere as she searched for a bandage inside the drawer.

"Found it!" She exclaimed.

She then started to wrap the bandage on his brother's head — stopping the bleeding. She attends to her brother and puts up with his occasional antics.

In this tender moment, a lonely individual watched the interaction between the siblings. The imposter observed their every move and tried to break free.

Yet the rope was way too tight and durable to break free from.

Suddenly, the imposter whistles.

"Hey, are you two just going to let me rot in here looking pretty? If you're going to interrogate me, let's not waste each other's time."

The siblings looked at the imposter's direction then looked at each other. They nodded in a silent understanding before approaching the girl.

"So uh.. how do we get this mask off you?" Felix asked, trying to find any zippers or design flaws to remove the mask.

"You can't, only I can remove this mask. But only after you guessed who I am. That is, if you can." The girl said smugly.

"And how do we do that? I mean even your disguise was impressive. It would definitely have fooled me if you hadn't slipped up." Felix confessed.

Sylvie raised her eyebrow and pouted.

"Hmph! Didn't you say you would recognize me no matter what?" She reminded him as if personally hurt.

"Wait no, that's not what I meant—!"

"Hmph." Before he could even finish, even the imposter started pouting at him.

At this point, Felix was internally confused as he paced back and forth between the two girls.

"Not you too! Ugh.. now how do I know which one is the real Sylvie..? Both of you could be fakes."

He looked at the 'real Sylvie' for a moment, tapping his chin.

Suddenly, an idea struck him. "I've got it!" He announced proudly.

The two girls' gaze fell on him as they watched with curiosity.

In the next second... Felix also tied up the 'real Sylvie' and put her beside the imposter.

"Felix le Fay! Let go of me this instant or I swear I'm going to kill you once I'm out of this restraint!" The 'real Sylvie' retorted.

"Great, now I can start by interrogating both Sylvies."

"Hold on, how do we know you are not the actual spy?" The imposter questioned.

"Hm.. yeah, I guess you could say that such things are not entirely impossible. Let's try this again."

Felix agreed to switch the role again.

Now he is the one bound by the restraint as the two Silvies loom over his figure.

Meanwhile the 'real Sylvie' shook her head in disappointment at how ridiculous this mystery is.

"Sigh.. are we seriously going to waste our time on this? She is clearly the faker!" The 'real Sylvie' pointed at the imposter.

"Your point?" The imposter asked.

'The real Sylvie' turned away from them and paced around the room.

"Must I explain further? You portrayed my character almost flawlessly, you know about our family's past. And you even told us to figure out your true identity. It's clear that you're someone we personally knew... Or someone who wanted to test us."

She looked over her shoulder.

"Isn't that right? Dr. Iris?"
