Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Getting Started

Alex naturally wouldn't ignore this point; in fact, he had already begun to lay out his plans.

Entering the field of "Human Enhancement"!

In this field, there are quite a few competitors, such as the well-known Osborn Corporation, Rose, the Military representative pursuing the Hulk, and Killian of Advanced Idea Mechanics, who is a pioneer in the research and improvement of Extremis!

However, the Osborn Corporation had been researching in this area for many years without much success; all the data for the Spider Serum was destroyed by the Parkers when they escaped, and the dangers of the Green Goblin Serum had not yet been resolved.

General Ross, needless to say, firmly believed that capturing the Hulk would solve the problem and allow for the development of more Hulks, not to mention the Military's research into the Super Soldier Serum and so on.

As for Killian of Extremis, he was probably still working on overcoming the flaws of Extremis.

It could be said that this was a huge market; he only needed to solve the problem of his company and products potentially being taken over by underhanded means, and then there would be no issues.

And for Alex, this was precisely not a problem at all.

Whoever laid a hand on him, he would just eliminate them directly; this was a real-life commercial war!

More importantly, he was a foreigner, possessing something with an almost infinitely large market share; if America became unbearable, he could just go somewhere else.

You say America is the most free and just country, protected by existing private ownership and the Constitution, so such a situation couldn't happen?

Even if Alex wasn't a foreigner, in the face of immense profit, private ownership and the Constitution were merely toys for capitalists and financial magnates.

Once the above problems were resolved, countless orders from the U.S. Department of Defense would pour in; many high-ranking officials in the Military were very interested in biotechnology like human enhancement technology.

"What a headache, but it feels alright…"

Alex was currently looking at a book whose cover was titled "Introduction to Hypnosis Techniques."

Then, ten minutes later, he had already put down the book and started learning online.

Half an hour later, Alex was contacting high-ranking officials in the American Military.

Speaking of contacting, it was actually just obtaining information on these high-ranking Military officials through hacker techniques, and then Alex selected a General with the same rank as Rose.

An hour later, Alex successfully infiltrated the other party's home and had a face-to-face meeting with him.

"Who are you?"

General Kelson D. Sweet looked at the man sitting on his sofa, wearing a black trench coat, sunglasses, and with a slicked-back hairstyle, and did not rashly alert the guards outside, because a pistol was naturally placed on the sofa next to the man's leg.

"Please sit, General Sweet."

Alex smiled, and Sweet frowned. Alex exuded an aura of confidence; he had never even seen such confidence in a few people. If he wasn't being arrogant, then it meant he was extremely confident.

And someone who could infiltrate his room without alerting his guards was clearly not the former.

He sat down, his gaze fixed on Alex, his back straight. His face was one that commanded respect without needing to show anger, full of the vicissitudes and toughness of a soldier.

This was a true veteran, so this demeanor was not surprising to Alex.

"I'm here to bring you benefits, General; no need to be nervous."

Alex said this, but he had already begun to use verbal and gestural cues and inducements to guide Sweet into a hypnotic state.

In fact, in the Marvel Universe, there are very powerful hypnotists, right in HYDRA, who can make a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, who has undergone various trainings, wander back and forth on the road and then crash into a truck and die, just by twirling a ring on their finger.

One could only say it was a bit mystical.

And the hypnosis performed by Alex, a Kryptonian, was even more mystical.

"General Sweet, I need you to contact the other influential Generals…"

It would be foolish not to use one's abilities, and Alex certainly wouldn't not use them.

This suggestion based on hypnosis was just Alex's method of brainwashing, but it was enough to turn several Military Generals into his own people; this was the best way to solve things once and for all.

Thus, Alex then smoothly persuaded several Generals in the Department of Defense to make his Monarch Company's soon-to-be-released flagship product—the [Super Soldier I] drug—a Military sales transaction!

Super Soldier I was a derivative of Alex's research into his own cells, not Kryptonian cells, just as Superman could research a Superman Drug that allows humans to gain Superman's abilities.

The difference was that Super Soldier I could only increase physical strength by two times and enhance the user's metabolic function and all bodily functions. But don't let its seemingly small effect fool you; in reality, even for an ordinary person, a mere doubling of physical strength would manifest in a very exaggerated way.

It was basically on par with Captain America and the Winter Soldier, Bucky.

So the Military was very happy, but this Super Soldier I was very expensive to produce, as Alex said, and therefore the selling price was naturally not cheap either.
