Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: Green Goblin Strikes, Target: Immortality

Oscorp Tower. CEO Office.

"Connelly! Oscorp belongs to my family! I won't let you taint it!" Harry Osborn roared.

Connelly looked at Harry with pity.

"Oscorp is a public company, Harry. Your father treated it like a kingdom for too long. Now, it has a new king."

Connelly smirked. "The Board has voted to remove you as CEO. With your shares, you still keep a seat on the Board, of course."

"Hmph. I thought you bought 51%. Turns out you're just a proxy," Harry sneered. "Mr. Connelly, you're still just a dog."

Connelly was unfazed. "You have no idea how powerful the new boss is. Maybe if you sell your shares to him, for old times' sake, he might help you get revenge."

Harry froze.

Someone I know?

He remembered Peter mentioning Vincent Hall buying shares days ago. Harry had dismissed it then. Vincent was just a quiet, rich kid. A nobody in the grand scheme of things.

"Vincent Hall?" Harry demanded.

"I'm sure you can find him," Connelly said cryptically. "He has high expectations for you."

Just then, Peter Parker walked in.

"Harry, are you okay?" Peter asked, then nodded respectfully to Connelly. "Good evening, Mr. Connelly."

Connelly glared at Peter. "Parker, you're fired."

"What?" Peter feigned shock, though internally he was screaming. Damn Hydra! You said you'd help me take Oscorp!

"Security, escort them out. Revoke their access immediately," Connelly ordered. "Oscorp is cutting ties with the old regime."

Harry stared coldly at Connelly. "Let's go, Peter."

As they left, Harry whispered, "Wait for me. I need to handle something."

Peter nodded. Harry was useless now. But he would let him live for a bit longer. Once he returned from the Hydra labs, New York would be his.

Long Island. Vincent's Estate.

Vincent lay on a beach chair, watching the sunset over the Atlantic.

His wealth had jumped by $3 billion thanks to Stark Industries stock rebounding.

"Connelly has made his move," Vincent noted.

Suddenly, a screeching noise tore through the sky.

Harry Osborn, clad in green armor and riding a glider, descended from the clouds.

Since injecting the unfinished serum, his senses were superhuman. He locked onto Vincent instantly.

"Hehehe... Die!"

Boom!

The Green Goblin fired a missile at the beach.

Sand and fire erupted. But when the smoke cleared, Vincent was still sitting there, untouched. A shimmering barrier of water protected him.

"My beach," Vincent sighed, looking at the crater.

Harry stared in disbelief. "Impossible."

"Is that how you greet an old classmate, Harry?" Vincent took a sip of beer.

"You stole my company!" Harry screamed, diving toward him.

Vincent raised a finger. The ocean behind him surged.

A massive water dragon rose from the depths and swallowed the Green Goblin whole.

The dragon smashed Harry into the seabed, the crushing pressure nearly snapping his spine. Then, an invisible hand threw him onto the shore, coughing up saltwater.

Vincent tossed a cold beer at him.

"Calm down, Harry."

Harry ripped off his mask, gasping for air. "How... how do you know who I am?"

"You're wearing a mask, not an invisibility cloak," Vincent rolled his eyes.

Harry crushed the beer bottle in his hand. "I will take Oscorp back."

"No, you won't. I own 51%," Vincent said simply. "It's mine. But I'll make you a deal."

Harry glared at him.

"Sell me your remaining shares," Vincent said. "And I'll tell you who really killed your father."

Harry froze. "Connors?"

"No. Connors was a colleague. He didn't kill Norman," Vincent lied smoothly (or rather, misled him). "The truth is worth billions."

Harry's inner demon screamed. Kill him! Take it!

But his rational mind knew he couldn't beat Vincent.

"Fine," Harry spat. "I'll sell. But if you lie to me..."

"Smith will contact you with the papers," Vincent turned his back.

Harry jumped onto his glider and flew off into the night.

Later that evening.

Black Widow leaned against a sports car outside Vincent's villa.

"My dear Natasha, what wind blew you here?" Vincent spread his arms.

She dodged his hug. "The cold wind from Central Park."

Vincent chuckled. "Ah, that. I was just taking a walk when thirty soldiers tried to turn me into swiss cheese. I had to defend myself."

"Thirty lives, gone in an instant," Natasha said.

"Blame Ross," Vincent led her inside.

"What did you say to him?" Natasha asked bluntly. "Fury wants to know."

"I told him the truth," Vincent poured two glasses of whiskey. "I reminded him that the US relies on its 11 carrier strike groups to project power. If we go to war, I will sink every single one of them."

Natasha's eyes widened.

Destroying the US Navy? It would end American hegemony overnight. It would trigger World War III.

And looking at Vincent—a Chinese national with god-like power—she realized he didn't care. He could just fly back to Asia and watch the West burn.

"You're making yourself a global target," Natasha warned. "The politicians will panic. They'll try to kill you."

"Let them come," Vincent smiled. "I am a demon who feeds on desire. Chaos makes me stronger."

"You're bluffing," Natasha pushed him against the wall, staring into his eyes. "Tell me the truth. Why did you buy Oscorp?"

Vincent looked back at her, his expression unreadable.

"Immortality."
