Chapter 10 - I Am Heisenberg

Pfft!!!

Splatter…

Blood sprayed freely, rising high enough to barely reach the ceiling.

Heisenberg took two steps back and frowned.

"A bit messy," he said. Then he exhaled a breath of white mist.

In just a moment, Kingpin's massive body, along with the still-spraying blood, froze into a gruesome, horrifying ice sculpture.

Only after the cold spread through the room, and Barbara instinctively shivered from that chill and terror, did she seem to snap back to her senses and shout.

"Damn it, why did you do that?!"

"Let me give you a piece of advice. If you want to live happier, ask 'why' less. As for why I did it?" Heisenberg turned around and patted Bullseye's shoulder again.

"Buddy, tell this woman the 'why' she wants."

"Yes!" Bullseye nodded immediately. Then, trembling slightly, he climbed up from the floor and walked over to Barbara, stopping three steps in front of her.

Bullseye's face still showed hesitation, but that hesitation was nothing compared to his fear of Heisenberg, and his obedience.

He spoke in a low voice.

"Kingpin ordered me, his sharpest blade, to hurt the Boss. This was all started by Kingpin."

"He wanted to kill the Boss. The Boss killed him. That's the why you want."

"Hahahaha!" Heisenberg laughed on the spot.

Bullseye really was an excellent subordinate, just like Heisenberg had judged.

He'd already started calling him Boss, that fast.

As for whether Bullseye switching sides so quickly meant he was used to betrayal and not worth cultivating, of course not.

After being subdued so easily, Bullseye still stabbed out with that last knife at Heisenberg.

That knife had already shouted all of Bullseye's loyalty.

When he was pressed down to his knees like it was nothing, did Bullseye not understand how strong Heisenberg was?

Even when the enemy was that terrifying, even knowing the assassination might fail, Bullseye still chose to assassinate.

Did he not know he could die?

So wasn't a person like that loyal enough?

As for Kingpin dying and Bullseye calling him Boss right away, was that betrayal?

Of course not. That was simply maturity.

What's more, on Earth in the Marvel movie universe, aside from that bald old woman who hides away from the world, who even had the qualification to hurt Heisenberg?

Compared to those so-called superheroes in superhero comics, Heisenberg, to some extent, preferred a villain like Bullseye, someone who served as a subordinate and an executor.

Look across all superhero movies and you'll find a unique feature.

Every superhero team is always the team with the most infighting, the messiest themes, the least clear goals, and the worst execution.

Those "superheroes" with huge personalities, heads full of freedom and hope, yet who act with endless hesitation.

If they didn't have plot armor, they wouldn't deserve to win at all.

And the opposite were the supervillains.

Bullseye under Kingpin was still a bit low-level. After all, he was basically just a thug, not exactly classy.

But look at other villains.

For example, Crossbones in Hydra.

Loyal to Hydra, follows orders the moment they're given, never once argues with leadership's decisions. No matter how dangerous the mission is, Crossbones won't complain even once.

On the other hand, Captain America, as a soldier, constantly brings up his boss Nick Fury's little secrets and makes a big deal out of them.

Black Widow holds back when she works. Pay isn't in place, and she can't crush a gang. Pay is in place, and she can even crush Corvus Glaive.

Hawkeye is a professional "controlled guy," constantly brainwashed, constantly flipped, part-time "sending off teammates," meaning Quicksilver.

And those are S.H.I.E.L.D.'s own agents.

Not to mention Iron Man and the Hulk. The two of them can barely even control themselves.

Yes, they're heroes, and they're smart too.

But the smarter someone is, the more self-centered they become, and the more trouble they bring.

Wasn't the terrifying Ultron created by the two of them with their own hands?

Heisenberg had his own plans for coming to this Marvel universe.

He knew he wasn't suited to be a lone-wolf superhero.

Maybe he had enough pity in him to reach out and help lonely old people and helpless children.

But that pity only went so far.

He wasn't kind enough to love all things like the real Superman.

So the role he assigned himself in the Marvel universe was an outsider, a player from beyond.

After all, everyone has a hero in their heart, and his "owl" might very well be seen as a big villain.

At the same time, Heisenberg understood his own nature better than anyone.

Deep down, he carried the slyness and weakness of an ordinary commoner.

And because of more than a decade in business, he'd been tempered into something properly petty, worldly, and greedy.

Before transmigrating, he'd sold sealing materials, run small loans, owned an excavator, delivered river sand, wholesaled beer. Those who know, know.

From the son of a regular worker, to a small-town boss making close to 2,000,0002,000,000 a year.

He…

That was about as far as his ability went.

Schemes, grand strategies, plotting from afar?

He couldn't do it.

Managing even a few dozen employees already wore him out.

But for him, creating an organization that served him was extremely necessary.

Yes, he had Superman-level power, hearing that could practically catch every sound in an entire city, and eyesight that could see people hidden behind walls from kilometers away.

But could he do that all day?

So he needed people who served him, to handle things that were inconvenient for him to personally do.

Not everything could be solved by smashing it with two fists.

So if he wanted to build an organization like that…

He definitely couldn't do it alone. If he personally handled management, he could use strength and intimidation to keep subordinates from betraying him.

But would those subordinates be his people, or his burden?

Could those subordinates spread an intelligence network from the North Pole to the South Pole?

Could those subordinates solve all kinds of daily hassles for him, and maintain his external public image toward the masses?

Could those subordinates bribe American officials and build him a golden body that could walk sideways through governments around the world?

If it were only him, then even if he dragged a group of subordinates along, he'd probably be worse off than working alone.

So in a short moment, Heisenberg decided he would absorb enough talent for himself.

Even Superman needed an alliance, the Justice League, to face more and more dangerous enemies.

And him?

Could he really harvest Origin Matter from the entire Marvel universe like cutting chives, all by himself?

One person is never as efficient as a group.

Back when Heisenberg was still on top of the Triskelion and heard that the one talking with Barbara was Kingpin, he already had the idea of killing Kingpin.

Kingpin's men were such a perfect foundation.

Think about it. Kingpin was America's underworld emperor, New York's underground ruler. 40%40% of criminal actions across the entire United States were connected to Kingpin.

And Kingpin had held that position for more than ten years. In the comics, if Heisenberg didn't kill him, Kingpin was a crime emperor for sixty years.

His men had been drilled for over ten years. Their control of the underground had long since sunk into their bones.

As long as Heisenberg modified them a little, he could take over more than half of America's underground network intact. That was an unbelievably profitable deal.

Heisenberg nodded in satisfaction. He patted the uneasy Bullseye, then said to Barbara, who looked shocked and unsettled.

"Did you hear clearly? He wanted to kill me, so I killed him. Whoever's stronger stands. Whoever's weaker lies down. Pretty reasonable, right?"

After speaking, Heisenberg lightly patted Bullseye's shoulder and asked, "With Kingpin dead, his bastards will probably be in chaos for a while. Do you have the ability to take over what he left behind?"

"I can't do it," Bullseye said.

"Hm?" Heisenberg froze. That answer wasn't what he expected.

In Heisenberg's mind, since he'd subdued Bullseye and then given him a chance to prove himself, Bullseye should've seized that chance and worked hard to prove his value.

How could he say he couldn't do it?

He didn't consider that Kingpin was the underworld emperor. Bullseye at most was a top-tier enforcer.

Even if Kingpin died, the people who submitted to Kingpin back then might not submit to the one who killed Kingpin.

Bullseye explained to Heisenberg.

"Kingpin is domineering, vicious, brutal, and unreasonable, but the underworld rules he established have been running in America for over ten years."

"People are used to the night with Kingpin in it, but they will never get used to me."

"Even if Kingpin is dead, I don't have the ability to make his other subordinates submit willingly right away."

"Our positions used to be roughly equal. They aren't people I can easily suppress and control."

"I'm sorry, Boss. I really want to prove my value to you, but without at least a year, I'm destined to fail your order."

"Alright, alright." Heisenberg said helplessly. "But I can't wait a whole year."

He had to admit, the dead fat guy with no head beside them really did have some ability.

After thinking for a moment, Heisenberg said again, "How about this. We won't deal with Kingpin's mess for now. Let them fend for themselves."

"As for you, I won't let you be unemployed. At minimum, I'm about to have a nightclub."

"Ever been a nightclub manager? If you haven't, then try it. I'll find someone else to deal with the rotten mess Kingpin left behind."

"Yes!" Bullseye nodded rapidly, but he still couldn't hide the disappointment inside.

In his heart, he held big expectations for this new boss.

First, this new boss seemed to have some mysterious connection with S.H.I.E.L.D.

Second, this boss's power was far too strong. With that kind of foundation, he could absolutely build something bigger than Kingpin ever did.

And lastly…

This boss's "career" clearly looked like it had just started. Bullseye might even be this boss's first subordinate. That was a huge opportunity.

How could he tell Heisenberg was just starting out?

Well…

At this moment, Heisenberg was still only wearing Nick Fury's pants. His bare upper body looked no different from those retired Vietnam War veterans and homeless drifters in America.

And Second Bazaar was also this boss's first nightclub…

Wasn't that "starting out"?

So Bullseye gritted his teeth, stepped forward, and spoke with a serious face as he volunteered himself.

"Boss, I can absolutely manage a nightclub, but management and operations aren't my specialty."

"If you grab any manager off Wall Street, they'd be qualified to replace me in a nightclub."

"But I'm confident my talent can eliminate most trouble for you. Of course, your power is great, but a big figure like you doesn't need to stand in front of every little person."

"I want to take over Kingpin's current enforcer team. They were also my subordinates for more than ten years."

"And I can use my team's strength to chew out enough benefits for you from Kingpin's former territory!"

As he spoke, Bullseye grew more and more tense.

"Please believe me, Boss. Even if you already have other comrades who are more suitable than me to replace Kingpin, my actions will only make it easier for them to take over Kingpin's position, not harder."

Thud.

Bullseye dropped to one knee and shouted at Heisenberg, "Please allow me to contribute my strength to your cause, Boss!"

The moment Bullseye finished, Heisenberg's heart surged with excitement.

This scene, this feeling, were things he could never have experienced before transmigrating.

What kind of creature is a man?

Power. Money. Only the weakness and submission of others can touch a man's true G-spot.

Bullseye had scratched Heisenberg right where it itched.

Heisenberg suppressed his excitement and nodded lightly.

"Do as you said," he told Bullseye.

"No matter what difficulties you face, don't be afraid, because your Boss is me."

"And I am Heisenberg."
