Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight — One Punch Man

If this had been his previous self, Zeus would definitely have known better.

Unfortunately, he had only just transcended into this body. The memories of the original owner had yet to fully merge with his own, leaving gaps at the most inconvenient moments. Concepts that should have been instinctive now felt unfamiliar, distant—almost slippery.

Still, even if his cultivation knowledge was lacking, Zeus retained one invaluable trait from his previous life.

His skin was thick.

Rolling his eyes, he let out a faint scoff and said lazily, "What? You don't believe me? It's not that I don't want to guide him—it's that none of you trust me. If you're unwilling to follow my guidance, then don't blame me for the outcome. Luna, let's go. This kind of gamble is meaningless."

He turned as if to leave.

"Hold it right there!" Lycoris barked.

His brows knitted together tightly. He could tell exactly what Zeus was doing—throwing out exaggerated claims so others would lose confidence and allow him to retreat gracefully. But after going to such lengths to corner him, how could Lycoris possibly let this opportunity slip away?

"We trust you," Lycoris said loudly. "Go on. Enlighten us."

Zeus halted mid-step.

"…That…"

Seeing that escape was no longer an option, he could only grit his teeth. Summoning the book compiled by the Omniscient System once more, he reviewed the twelve flaws carefully.

If I'm going down, he thought grimly, I might as well go down swinging.

His eyes finally stopped on the last flaw.

Grinding his teeth, Zeus lifted his head and spoke, "The punch routine you used just now is structured for right-handed practitioners. Here's my suggestion—use your left hand to strike the stone pillar."

The moment those words left his mouth, the crowd erupted.

"Left-handed?"

"This is supposed to be guidance?"

"Is he joking? Everyone knows the left hand is weaker!"

"If he switches hands, won't it completely ruin the routine?"

Looks of disdain flooded the area. To everyone present, this suggestion was absurd beyond belief. Liu Yang's previous punch had clearly demonstrated that he was right-handed. Asking him to switch now was nothing short of sabotage.

Lycoris froze for a moment—then his eyes lit up with delight.

He hadn't expected Zeus to say something so ridiculous.

Suppressing his excitement, he waved his hand and shouted, "Atherwood , follow Teacher Zeus guidance. Let him give up properly!"

In his mind, the outcome was already decided.

Atherwood had produced sixty-two kilograms earlier using his dominant hand. If he switched to his weaker left, the power would surely drop drastically—perhaps not even reaching thirty kilograms.

A student performing worse after receiving guidance?

Zeus reputation would be utterly destroyed.

"Yes!"

Atherwood let out a cold snicker and stepped forward again. He was well aware that he wasn't left-handed. This so-called guidance was nothing but nonsense.

Still, the bet had been made. He had no choice.

Executing the Soaring Flower Fist once more, he adjusted his posture, reversing the flow of movements. At first, the unfamiliarity threw him off balance, but years of practice quickly kicked in.

The punches flowed.

The wind stirred.

Yet from the outside, it was clear—the force and sharpness were inferior to his earlier attempt.

Watching this, Zeus heart clenched.

Could it be… that the System is wrong?

Other transcenders had wise mentors, ancient spirits, or powerful artifacts guiding them step by step. And him?

A mysterious System filled with words.

If it was wrong, he wouldn't just be humiliated—he would be expelled.

Hu!

The routine ended.

Atherwood tepped up to the stone pillar, raised his left fist, and struck.

Weng!

Numbers flickered into existence.

"One—hah! I knew it! Even reaching the tens is—"

Lycoris burst into laughter, but his voice abruptly died in his throat.

His eyes widened until they nearly popped out.

"123?!"

"123 kilograms?!"

The entire crowd froze.

A suffocating silence followed as disbelief rippled through everyone present.

Earlier, Atherwood's right-handed punch had reached sixty-two kilograms. Now, using his left hand, it had skyrocketed to one hundred and twenty-three.

Nearly double.

That wasn't improvement.

That was a miracle.

Even the top-ranking teachers in the academy couldn't achieve such results with a single round of guidance.

"I… I…" Atherwood stared at the stone pillar, his mind blank.

He knew his own body. He knew his limits. He had never believed his left arm could produce such power.

Yet the numbers didn't lie.

The silence shattered into an uproar.

Zeus nearly laughed out loud.

It's true.

At that moment, every lingering doubt vanished.

The Omniscient System was real.

Its records were absolute.

The ability to perceive flaws—precise, merciless flaws—in any skill or technique was nothing short of heaven-defying.

"So?" Zeus said calmly, folding his arms. "Your guidance resulted in a twenty percent improvement. Mine resulted in a hundred percent. Teacher Lycoris , do you have anything else to say?"

Lycoris face drained of color.

It felt as though he had been slapped across the face in front of everyone.

Without another word, he pulled out a jade token, bit his finger, and let a drop of blood fall onto it.

"Atherwood," he said stiffly, "I revoke your status as my student. You may now acknowledge Teacher Zeus as your instructor."

Turning to Zeus, his eyes burned with resentment. "Don't get too smug. You were lucky this time. Next time, I'll make sure your reputation is completely ruined."

With that, he turned and left.

Not only had he lost face—he had lost a student, and to the very man who had scored zero in the Teacher Qualification Examination.

"Teacher… Teacher…"

Atherwood's expression darkened. Even though the results were undeniable, he still believed this had been nothing more than luck.

"All right," Zeus said casually, tossing him a jade token. "You're my student now. Take out your identity card."

Though reluctant, Atherwood accepted the token as rejecting him will mean rejection from every other teacher.

He dripped his blood onto the token, completing the verification.

"Meet here tomorrow for lessons," Zeus said simply.

After that, he turned to Luna, nodded faintly, and left the canteen.

Back in his lecture hall, Zeus immediately sank into his mind, focusing on the Omniscient System

After careful examination, he finally grasped its function.

As long as someone executed a skill or martial art before him, the System would automatically compile a book detailing all of their flaws.

"Haha… I've really struck gold this time."

With this ability, how could he ever fail again?

The humiliation of scoring zero, the ridicule, the despair—it all felt distant now.

As joy surged through his chest, Zeus clenched his fists.

As a transcender, he finally saw a future worth looking forward to.

"Yesss… now let the fun begin."
