Despite being scolded by his best friend now, his heart swelled even more at the sight of someone who cared so much about him besides his biological parents. Instead of pouting, he gave a small smile as he looked at his friend, who was even more adorable even in her pajamas. He briefly touched his friend's hand to free him from the awkward situation, which had made him body stiffen even more.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be so secretive. But I suddenly had something important to attend to regarding my adoptive family."
"Then why did you two have to meet at a bar? You could have turned him down and asked him to meet at a cafe or somewhere else." A heavy sigh escaped her lips. "I didn't mean to be a nag at you. But I have to take responsibility for injuring your right hand to the point where you can't do anything today."
Flint momentarily released the touch of her tiny hand. "So you're acting like this because you feel guilty?"
"No. I just want you to love yourself first."
