I didn't like the way this was going.
Not just because of the messages, or the picture, or the fact that someone had been close enough to Ava to take it without her noticing. It was everything together. The timing, the blog posts, the party, Brielle showing up out of nowhere, and now this.
It didn't feel random anymore.
I leaned back into Noah's couch, staring at nothing in particular while he continued typing on his laptop. The room was quiet except for the sound of his keyboard, and usually that wouldn't bother me, but right now it was making everything in my head louder.
I kept thinking about the picture.
The angle.
The distance.
Whoever took it wasn't just walking by. They were watching her. That meant they knew where she was going to be, or they followed her long enough to get the shot. Either option made my stomach turn.
"I need you to tell me everything you have," I said.
Noah didn't look up. "I already told you what I have."
