Ava's Pov:
I didn't realize when Leon laid down next to me. I could feel his hands wrapped around me. His warmth almost made me forget the crippling fear I had due to that message.
I slowly lifted his hand and moved away from him. I picked up my phone from the bedside table and checked through my messages.
There was nothing new, but I still read through the previous text. There was something chilling about it thar I couldn't shake off.
Sure, it was a random spam text. People get threatened all the time, but it didn't feel like that was all there is to this person.
Leon moved slightly, forcing me out of my thoughts.
"I didn't mean to wake you."
I dropped my phone down and shifted my attention back to him.
"Well you can get back in bed with me." He pulled me close.
"Yes, I could but you have to be at work in…" I checked my phone for the time. "less than ten minutes. So you better start getting ready."
"Ugh do I have to? I'm literally the owner."
