Leon's POV:
As I hung up the phone with Noah, I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in."
My last guess was Ava, but there she was. I thought she was still in a mood from yesterday, but she seemed nervous rather than upset.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
She walked closer to me. "I really think this is a bad idea, so I need you to assure me that you're going to be safe."
I felt my heart flutter. No one has ever cared for me as much as she does.
"I promised, remember?"
"Okay then, I'll just… leave."
"Ava—"
The door closed before I could completely call her name.
I really didn't know what I felt for her or why it was so hard for me to be direct. I didn't feel this with Brielle, and I felt a lot of things with her.
I decided to go out and take my mind off it. I got to a coffee shop near the house and sat down beside the window. I didn't exactly get the peace and quiet I wanted, but it was still calming.
