Chapter 10 - Difference

Caspian's POV

I stood there arms crossed, jaw locked, blood still drying on my skin.

Like a guardian from hell, waiting,watching- letting them work on her ,except I was there to make sure that she lived.

I strained my eyes to the point it was watery, like if I blinked wrong she'd disappear.

Kiara lay unconscious on a cot, still too still for my liking. Too pale. Bandages were already wrapped around her thighs. There was dried blood in her hair.

One of my healers, Mara, glanced up at me.

"Alpha."

I didn't respond.

"Alpha," she tried again, sharper this time. "ummm, we needed a little space."

"You have space!"I exclaimed, astonished.

She stared at me.

"Breathing space."

"I'm not even breathing that loud."

The woman rolled her eyes. "Alpha, we need to breathe. You are crowding around our working space."

I blinked at her.The audacity! I just realized, I wasn't respected,rather, feared enough!
