Chapter 81 - Waggggh!

The Zerg swarm's airdropped pods slammed into the ground amidst the Orcish artillery fire, and as the pods ruptured, Zerg worms large enough to flood the plains poured out.

The bony spikes of the hydralisk, the claws of the springtail, and the acid of the cockroach—these strange insects immediately held up the front line.

Numerous aerial support units, including wyverns, corruptions, guardians, and serpents, emerged from Leviathan's body, while the queen behind it began spewing out large amounts of purple creep.

However, to Zagara's surprise, the alien insect's creep seemed to have an extremely good absorption capacity for orc spores. The orc spores that originally covered the entire plain surface became the best nutrients for the alien insect's creep, and the creep surged into the distance at a rate far exceeding the normal growth rate.

Commissar Cassius, standing frozen on the front lines of the distant warehouse position, observed that although this swarm looked completely different from the previous Tyranid swarm, their essence was exactly the same: a frenzied and pure killing machine. They had no formation, no tactics, only the purest instincts of biological cooperation, tearing apart any non-friendly units.

The orcish giants turned and charged toward the insect army. Several enormous beasts poured out of the pouch, their thick bony plates covering almost all their body parts, and a pair of huge forelimbs with sharp blades in front attracted everyone's attention.

"Sir! What...what should we do?" a PDF sergeant asked, trembling beside Cassius.

Cassius swallowed hard, then immediately grabbed the communicator and roared, "All personnel retreat to the second line of defense! Let them kill each other!" Having fought these orcs for so long, he knew the greenskins' characteristics very well; as long as there was a fight, they wouldn't care who their opponent was.

Sure enough, the orcs in the distance unleashed a deafening "Waaaagh!" sound, abandoning the cowardly and boring human shrimp and turning to pounce on the Zerglings.

Warboss "Giant Claw" Grog raised his powered claws, his eyes gleaming with ecstatic joy: "These new purple shrimp are even more awesome! Kids, chop them all down! Wagggh!"

"Waggggh!" A large group of green-skinned boys, each wielding a machete in one hand and a large-caliber semi-automatic pistol in the other, charged toward the swarm of insects, led by their leader.

The Greenskins' headquarters was filled with buildings made of garbage and waste. Inside, the tech-savvy kids were frantically hammering away at broken machines. More orc machines were being assembled from the junkyard and, piloted by the kids, spewing black smoke, rushed toward the swarm of insects.

Two torrents of purple and green collided on the plain. Both sides were excited. One side could finally shout "Waggggh!" and go to kill the enemy. The other side could finally go crazy and devour fresh and delicious biomass after many years.

In near-earth orbit, the tentacles of a dozen Leviathans swayed slightly, while the green-skinned orc ships were instantly destroyed the moment they warped into real space.

Zagara stood beside the swarm's mother hive inside Leviathan, quietly observing the chaotic battle through the swarm's web.

It discovered that these organisms had a very strange structure; they were more like plants than living organisms, and their cells were abnormally active, making some fatal injuries to ordinary life insignificant to them.

There is a peculiar biofield among these strange creatures, and when they die, they release a large number of spores, which are the best nutrition for the fungal carpet of the insect colony.

"Interesting biomass." The queen's appendages tapped lightly on her carapace, then commanded the swarm to speed up the devouring of the green-skinned orc's corpse, giving these genes rich in fighting instincts to Abathur, which might cultivate an even more ferocious insectoid variant.

Time continued to pass, and all the beastmen on the surface of Planet Dobol III joined this frenzied war. The purple fungal carpet of the swarms had covered half of the land, and they had never devoured such nutritious matter.

Except for the warehouse in the middle of the equator, the ground was filled with endless battles. Swarms of insects and orcs clashed constantly, and tens of thousands of green-skinned boys died in the war. Before long, new green-skinned boys would grow out of the ground and charge towards the swarms again with a "Waaaagh!"

Those who survive countless battles grow into even stronger and larger Greenskin leaders, and the leader of all the Greenskins, "Giant Claw," grows larger and larger in the endless battles. Its strength is even enough to lift a Thunder Beast and then slam it heavily to the ground.

More heavy armor was added to its body, and it roared excitedly once again as it charged into the battlefield. This continued until the Zerg swarm's mother hive was completed, at which point the swarm would end everything here.

More and more alien insects joined the battle, and the green spores that could have been revived were constantly devoured by the fungal carpet, while fresh, energy-rich biomass was continuously provided to the nest.

The Greenskinned Orcs' defeat was inevitable. Even the mighty Warboss could not withstand the onslaught of the Zerg swarms, which tore at it from the air, the ground, and underground.

Finally, with a resentful "Waaaaagh!", its massive body crashed heavily onto the fungal carpet. The next moment, countless swarms of insects rushed forward and began to devour its body. When the nearby green-skinned boys saw that their leader was dead, the massive Waaagh energy field suddenly weakened, and the countless green-skinned creatures scattered in a panic.

As the war drew to a close, the swarms of insects were carrying out their final sweep. Before long, all the green-skinned beastmen had turned into biomass, and even the spores underground became their nourishment.

One by one, the swarm of insects began to enter the digestive tract, becoming the basic biomass in the dough. The flying units returned to Leviathan's abdominal cavity, accompanied by several roars that echoed through the sky. The Zerg swarm left this world satisfied, having eaten their fill this time.

Commissar Cassius of the Astral Army watched the battle with an indescribable emotion from beginning to end. The two sides fought fiercely and even forgot about humanity as their enemy. It was hard to say whether they were glad or not.

Cassius originally thought that if one of these two forces won, they would be next, and they would have a very difficult time dealing with either the more powerful Warboss or the endless swarms of insects.

Just as he was trying to figure out how to deal with it, the war was over. The terrifying swarms of insects had almost crushed all the greenskins. When Cassius heard the news, he was completely stunned.

He had thought they were doomed, but the insects simply scurried away, leaving behind only a pile of metallic debris and not a trace of organic matter.

Looking at the desolate plains and the garbage everywhere, Cassius didn't know whether to be happy or sad. "What a mess..." He sighed and began to let the Astra Militarum clean up the mess.
