Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Lap Pillow

Judging by its appearance, this would undoubtedly qualify as an elite-tier weapon in an RPG game.

Most crucially, this long sword was entirely forged from precious Chakra metal.

White Fang's iconic white short sword was also crafted from Chakra metal.

Since weapons made from Chakra metal possess the highest efficiency in conducting Chakra, this material is extremely valuable on the market. Its price surpasses even gold, and it consistently remains scarce despite high demand.

Even with Mikoto's substantial family wealth, she couldn't possibly give away such a weapon casually as a gift.

Hayato Ren was just about to politely decline, considering he and Mikoto were merely friends and couldn't possibly accept such a precious present.

However, Mikoto seemed to anticipate what Hayato Ren was going to say and spoke first:

"Ren, you can't refuse this, or I'll be really sad. Besides, I'm not very skilled with sword techniques myself, so I have no use for it."

Hayato Ren wanted to say that he didn't know any sword techniques either, but under Mikoto's gentle smile, he kept the words unspoken.

Although Mikoto usually appeared easygoing, once she made a decision, she would never change her mind.

Meanwhile, in a luxurious residence within the Uchiha compound.

Uchiha Tajima was rummaging through cabinets and drawers as if searching for something.

But after searching for a long time, he still hadn't found it.

Then, Uchiha Tajima called out toward the inner room:

"Dear, have you seen my silver long sword?"

Soon, a gentle response came from inside the house.

"You mean the one hanging in the living room? I think Mikoto took it with her when she went out."

Hearing this, Uchiha Tajima stroked his chin and showed a pleased expression.

"Could it be that Mikoto has finally come around and wants to inherit my Uchiha Swordsmanship? Haha, that's my daughter for you."

Uchiha Tajima thought proudly, though one wonders how he would feel if he knew the real purpose for which his precious daughter had taken the sword.

After accepting the long sword, Hayato Ren's body suddenly shivered, as if he was being watched by something.

However, he paid it no mind and continued recounting his "glorious exploits" from the battlefield under Kushina and Mikoto's admiring gazes.

For the following week, Hayato Ren spent his time wandering around the Leaf with Kushina and Mikoto, hardly doing any training at all.

Finally, one day, Hayato Ren felt he couldn't continue being so "degenerate" any longer.

Thus, he resolutely resisted Kushina's temptations and went to Tsunade's house.

Since Kushina was always at his own home, he simply had no time to practice Ninjutsu there.

Because Nawaki was still fooling around in the Rain Country with Orochimaru, the spacious mansion was occupied only by Tsunade.

Seeing this unexpected visitor, Tsunade couldn't help but remark with sarcasm:

"Well, look what the cat dragged in. If it isn't Konoha Jonin Hayato Ren? What brings you to my humble abode? Has your Kushina failed to satisfy you?"

Hearing the thick resentment in Tsunade's tone, Hayato Ren quickly moved behind her and began diligently massaging her shoulders.

"Teacher, you've got me all wrong. The reason I haven't visited recently is because I didn't want to disturb your research on new ninjutsu. But I found I couldn't control myself - tossing and turning in bed every night, haunted by your image. Today, I simply couldn't suppress these feelings any longer..."

After listening, Tsunade curled her lips in a disdainful smile.

"Save those lies for naive little girls like Kushina. They won't work on me. Tossing and turning in bed? More like tossing and turning while holding Kushina in bed, I'd wager."

Hayato Ren immediately protested:

"Teacher, that's unfair. I swear to heaven, Kushina and I have never crossed that line. We haven't even reached the stage of being completely open with each other."

Since her house was very close to Kushina's, Tsunade knew for certain that Kushina hadn't returned home since she came back.

And if Kushina wasn't at her own home, there was only one other place she could be.

Yet seeing Hayato Ren's seemingly genuine expression, Tsunade said uncertainly:

"A little pervert like you, being so well-behaved? I don't buy it."

Hayato Ren responded with complete confidence:

"Because my heart belongs entirely to you, Teacher. Only a perfect woman like you can bring out the darkness hidden within me. No one else will do."Truth be told, Hayato Ren did want to take things further with Kushina, but the shy girl always maintained her boundaries."

And since Hayato Ren wasn't the type to force others, despite being able to hold Kushina's soft, fragrant body every night, their actual progress had only reached second base.

"I'll take your word for it this once. But did you come here for something specific?"

Tsunade reached up and patted Hayato Ren's head.

He responded with a beaming smile:

"What, can't I just visit my dear teacher?"

Seeing his shameless expression, much of the resentment Tsunade had accumulated recently suddenly dissipated.

She waved her hand dismissively.

"In that case, go find somewhere cool to stay. I need to continue developing the Yin Seal."

With her emotional knots untangled, Tsunade had gained new insights about the Yin Seal.

She no longer had time to waste with Hayato Ren.

Seeing that Tsunade was genuinely busy developing the Yin Seal, Hayato Ren pulled up a stool and sat beside her, picking up the scroll on sealing techniques of the Uzumaki clan to study.

Though Hayato Ren showed little talent for ordinary ninjutsu, he possessed remarkable aptitude for sealing techniques, much like when he first learned Medical Ninjutsu.

What others found obscure and difficult to comprehend, he understood at a glance.

His learning progress was so rapid that even Kushina exclaimed he must be the true Uzumaki clansman.

Perhaps he had been playing a bit too enthusiastically this past week, for Hayato Ren began to feel drowsy after just over an hour of reading.

He glanced at Tsunade, who was diligently writing, and softly said:

"I'm a bit sleepy."

Then, he promptly collapsed onto Tsunade's lap, achieving the "lap pillow" milestone.
