Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 – Spoiler

~Sometimes the most dangerous person isn't the one trying to control you… but the moment you start believing the thoughts they planted are your own.~

I don't know whether the feeling overwhelming me is real… or something Misaki has been slowly planting since the first day we spoke. There was a brief moment — very brief — yesterday, when she laughed so hard after seeing my unusual reaction.

She laughed until tears came out.Laughed as if I had done something right.Laughed as if she were… proud.

"See… not that hard, right?!"

That's what she said while holding back her laughter. The joke wasn't funny, yet she laughed like she was watching a brilliant performance from someone she had trained for a long time.

I didn't know what she meant.I didn't know what she actually saw in me.

But the sound of her laughter slipped into my head and stayed there — echoing until now.

1. A Feeling That Shouldn't Exist

I looked at Misaki from head to toe.For a moment… I felt like I was seeing something she had been deliberately hiding.

Raw emotion.No filter.No mask.

As if for the first time… she showed her true self.

It made me wonder:

Is this feeling really mine?Or… was it planted by her?

I didn't realize that since that day, the boundary between my thoughts and hers had slowly begun to blur.

2. The Direction She Controls

"Just admit you're happy if you're happy."

"Life is short. Just enjoy it."

Her words were clear, but something felt off.She wasn't giving advice.

She was… shifting my perspective.Subtly.Very subtly.

I listened, thought about it — and without noticing, I began to believe her.

I started to feel that my old way of thinking was wrong. That I needed to be more open.More reckless.More… free.

But the freer I felt… the more I was pulled into Misaki's orbit.

As if the "freedom" she offered… was already defined by her.

3. Suri — Really Just a Coincidence?

"So, you're not curious about what happened to Suri?"

The question pierced me like a cold needle.

I had thought the twists and turns of her questioning were over. I was naive. I thought once I answered her earlier question, I would be free.

In reality, that answer wasn't an ending — just another step pulling me deeper into something that never intended to let me go: curiosity.

I tried to act casual.Tried not to show my interest.Tried to deny any connection between Misaki and the incident.

Maybe Suri just fell.Maybe she was being dramatic again.

But Misaki smiled —that smile. The same one from two days ago.

The smile that made the back of my neck prickle.A hint… and a warning.

"Do you really think coincidences like that happen?"

The question wasn't meant to be answered. It was a trap.

And I fell into it without realizing.

4. Seeds of Doubt — Exactly What She Wanted

After hearing her words, my thoughts began racing, forming connections that had never existed before.

I admit it — I hated Suri for what she did to me, and I felt relieved she wasn't here.

But…Did Misaki do it?Was this her will? Was this the answer to my "wish"?

My rational mind tried to reject it.Impossible.Not someone her age.Not someone like Misaki.

But the whisper remained.

Small.Soft.Repeating.

And I didn't realize that over time… it began to sound more and more like Misaki's voice.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. The Question That Shakes Everything

I swallowed and finally asked:

"A… are you connected to all this?"

Misaki didn't answer immediately. She walked closer.Slowly.Too slowly — circling me.

Until there was barely any distance left between us. Then she leaned in, close enough that her breath touched my ear.

"What do you think…?"

The whisper locked my throat.I shivered — not from cold, but from something deeper.

Fear.And an irrational attraction.

A poisonous combination.

6. A Fall Without a Push

Misaki laughed again.Light. Casual.

But none of her laughter was ever truly ordinary.

"How could I possibly do something like that?" she said.

The words left her lips like a wandering whisper — too soft to be a denial, too clear to fully trust. There was a faint tremor at the end, as if she were convincing herself as much as me — creating distance between the girl before me and something slowly growing behind her eyes.

I wanted to believe her.I needed to believe her.

So I forced a small laugh — as if it could drive away what was forming inside me.

In truth, it did the opposite.

My laugh cracked what little sanity I had left.

7. An Invitation I Couldn't Refuse

Suddenly, in the middle of everything — between unfinished words, unsteady breath, and colliding thoughts — Misaki cut in:

"Are you free tomorrow? Come with me somewhere."

The question felt out of place — wrong for the moment.

I panicked.I refused.I made excuses.I tried to keep distance.

She didn't stop.She never stopped.

"My friend knows something about Suri."

The sentence pulled at my neck like a thin string — drawing me one step closer.

"But it's up to you. No one's forcing you to find out."

She didn't need to force me.Because by now… my thoughts were already moving in her direction.

I weighed it.Refused.Weighed it again.

And finally… gave in.

I accepted.

Even though every part of me knew —it was dangerous.

8. The Secret She Plants Deep

Just before returning to class, she stopped and turned slightly. In a voice almost indistinguishable from the surrounding air, she said:

"Don't tell anyone about our plan tomorrow."

Her tone was soft. But impossible to refuse.

"And don't mention my friend who knows about Suri."

She said it like a small request.Like it wasn't important.

But behind the words…there was a gentle pressure.

Something pressed against my chest.Something demanded obedience.

And without realizing it, I answered:

"Okay."

Just like that.No long thought. No logic.

Like an automatic response.A reflex. Not my own will.

9. Closing — The Day Changes… So Do I

The bell rang.Misaki returned to class without looking back.

I stood alone on the terrace. My head full of unease. My heart sinking deeper.

Day after day changed —but this feeling didn't fade.

It grew stronger.Tighter.

And without realizing it —I could no longer tell the difference:

which thoughts were mine…

and which belonged to Misaki.
