Chapter 31 - Chapter 9: The Reunion

The ruined town was silent.

Broken buildings leaned like tired giants. Smoke drifted slowly into the sky.

Sai walked through the destruction casually, carrying Fura over his shoulder as if she weighed nothing.

He yawned.

"Ahh..."

His eyes scanned the shattered streets. No panic. No guilt. Just quiet observation.

After walking for a while, he reached the edge of the great sea.

The waves moved gently, reflecting the evening light.

Sai lowered Fura carefully onto the sand.

He crouched beside her and flicked a small splash of water onto her face.

Fura's eyes snapped open.

"What's happening!?"

She sat up abruptly, looking around in confusion.

Sai leaned closer, hands in his pockets, faint blue light glowing in his eyes.

"Well… the fight ended," he said calmly. "You can go back home now."

Fura's expression hardened immediately.

"How can you order me like that?!" she shouted. "I want revenge on humanity! I will wipe them out! I will rule the world!"

Sai sighed.

He sat down beside her.

Then gently placed a finger over her lips.

Silence.

Fura froze.

Her cheeks turned red again.

"Now stop talking," Sai said softly. "Because of me, you're still alive. If it were anyone else, they would have killed you."

Her anger wavered.

Slowly, she removed his hand.

"Wait… what are you doing?"

She hesitantly placed one leg into the water.

Her mermaid tail shimmered faintly as it touched the sea, wiggling slowly.

Her voice softened.

"Is it… safe for me?"

Sai gave a small smile.

"Sure. This is your home. The wild life deserves it."

He looked toward the horizon.

"Trust me. If someone like Blu saw you, he'd kill you without asking twice. This is for your own safety."

Fura placed her other leg into the water.

The waves embraced her.

Her expression changed.

"This feels… warm."

She moved deeper.

Then with one graceful jump, she dove fully into the sea.

Before disappearing, she glanced back at Sai — still slightly angry, but not the same hatred as before.

"Goodbye."

Sai raised his hand and waved slowly.

He smiled faintly.

Then he turned and began walking toward Paras City.

Scene: Yuki's House.

Inside a pink-themed bedroom, Yuki sneezed into a tissue.

Honokage gently patted her head.

"If you're feeling ill, don't go to the concert tonight."

Yuki shook her head stubbornly.

"I have to go. My fans will be waiting. They like my songs."

Honokage smiled softly.

"Whatever you decide… just take care of yourself."

Scene: Jungle.

Wano slept peacefully under a large tree.

Nearby, Uraka bounced around in her pink slime form, observing animals curiously.

"So this is what wildlife looks like?"

She stared at a rabbit.

The rabbit stared back… then ran away.

Uraka sweat nervously.

"I think they see me as a monster."

Wano slowly woke up, stretching with a small yawn.

"Didn't you sleep?"

Uraka shook her head.

"No. I was just watching animals."

Wano blinked.

"You should sleep. It's good for your health."

Uraka nodded.

"I know."

Suddenly—

Her body began glowing.

Wano raised an eyebrow, her snake tail shifting slightly.

"What are you doing?"

The slime form began reshaping.

Her body shifted into human form.

Long pink hair fluttered in the wind.

Crimson eyes glowed faintly in the jungle light.

She now wore a golden sweater with a pink scarf wrapped gently around her neck.

Uraka blinked twice and hugged herself briefly.

She smiled brightly.

"Now I feel better."

Wano stared, jaw slightly dropped.

"You… actually look really beautiful in human form."

Uraka winked playfully.

"And you too."

Wano laughed lightly.

"So you can use powers like that?"

Uraka nodded and sat on a nearby rock.

"Yes. But I don't like using them unless there's a threat."

Scene: Sai's Dojo.

Astra was lifting heavier weights than before, sweat dripping down his forehead.

He glanced at Aoi.

"Hey… where did Sensei go?"

Aoi looked slightly worried.

"I don't know. Maybe he's fighting. But he'll return soon."

Meanwhile…

Sai walked calmly through the streets of Paras City.

Suddenly—

Crash.

A girl collided into him at full speed.

Both of them fell backward.

The girl blinked in panic.

"I'm sorry! I'm in a hurry!"

Sai stood up, dusting himself off.

He gave her a small smile.

"Don't worry. You can go."

She nodded quickly and ran away.

Her name was Suro.

As she ran, her thoughts raced.

I need to find Sai as fast as I can. My childhood best friend… The Water Clan is in danger because of Mermaid Queen Fura. He's the strongest. He has to help us.

Mid-run—

Her heart suddenly tightened.

She stopped.

"Wait…"

Her eyes widened.

That guy I crashed into… he looked like Sai.

She turned around.

Sai was already gone.

Her pupils shrank.

Was that really him?

Why couldn't I recognize him immediately…?

We haven't met for years…

She clenched her fists.

"I'm sure. That was him."

Her voice trembled slightly.

"But… does he even remember me?"

She took a deep breath.

Then ran toward the direction Sai had walked.

"Please… don't go too far."
