"Ugly, filthy, cross-breed freaks."
Darian's words hung in the air, dripping with contempt.
Arlong stared at him. For a moment, the sawshark fish-man was too stunned to speak. He had spent years preaching about the superiority of his race. To hear a human—a 'lower lifeform'—call him the inferior one was a shock to his system.
"You..." Arlong's voice was a low growl, his shark eyes bloodshot with rage. "You dare insult the noble fish-men?"
Around the pool, the other fish-men stood up, weapons drawn.
"Brother Arlong! Let us kill him!"
"Yeah! Tear him apart!"
Arlong held up a hand, silencing them. He stepped forward, towering over Darian. The killing intent rolling off him was palpable, a physical weight that would have made a normal man's knees buckle.
"Lowly human," Arlong hissed, baring his jagged teeth. "I'll give you one chance to beg for mercy. Maybe I'll make your death quick."
Darian didn't flinch. He looked at Arlong, but in his mind, he saw Nami. He saw eight years of her forced smiles. He saw her bleeding fingers as she drew maps for this monster. He saw her crying in his arms on the boat.
A fire ignited in Darian's chest. It wasn't just anger. It was hatred.
"Beg?" Darian laughed, a cold, sharp sound. "You misunderstand, fish-face. I'm not here to beg."
He clenched his fists. The air around him began to hum.
"I'm here to make sure you never make my wife cry again."
Darian stomped the ground.
"Heavenly Path: Gear Boost - Second Gear!"
VMMMM!
A white aura exploded around Darian. Unlike Luffy's steam-based Gear Second, this was a mechanical overclocking of his Devil Fruit abilities.
* Strength: 10x Multiplier
* Speed: 10x Multiplier
* Vibration/Lightning Output: 10x Multiplier
The stone pavement beneath his feet shattered into dust.
Boom!
Darian vanished.
He moved so fast he was invisible to the naked eye. He crossed the ten-meter gap in a fraction of a second.
Arlong was still sneering, his brain not yet processing that his opponent had moved.
WHAM!
A fist moving at supersonic speed slammed into Arlong's face.
Darian's base strength was around 2 tons. Multiplied by ten, he hit with the force of 20 tons.
Arlong's nose crumpled. His indestructible teeth shattered like glass. His neck snapped back, and his entire massive body was launched backward as if shot from a cannon.
CRASH!
Arlong smashed through the stone wall of Arlong Park. He flew through the air, crossing the entire compound, and slammed into the forest a hundred meters away.
BOOM!
A mushroom cloud of dust rose from the trees.
The other fish-men stood with their mouths open, staring at the empty spot where their captain used to be. Then they looked at Darian, who was standing there, fist smoking.
"Impossible..." Chew whispered. "He... he sent Brother Arlong flying with one punch?"
"Kill him!" Kuroobi roared, snapping out of his shock. " avenge Brother Arlong!"
"Fish-Man Karate: Thousand Brick Fist!"
"Water Cannon!"
Dozens of fish-men attacked at once. Punches, swords, and high-pressure water bullets rained down on Darian from all sides.
Darian didn't dodge. He didn't even block.
"Hungry Ghost Path: Devour."
A faint, translucent barrier appeared around him.
The attacks hit the barrier and... vanished. The kinetic energy of the punches, the force of the water, the sharpness of the blades—all of it was absorbed instantly, sucked into Darian's body like water into a sponge.
"Thanks for the recharge," Darian muttered.
He felt his stamina bar fill up.
"My turn."
He raised a hand to the sky.
"Asura Path: 30 Million Volts - Thor's Hammer!"
KRAKOOM!
A massive pillar of blue lightning descended from the heavens, striking Darian and expanding outward in a devastating shockwave.
ZZZZZT!
"GYAAAAHH!"
The screams were cut short. Every fish-man within fifty meters was electrocuted instantly. Kuroobi, Chew, and the rest of the crew convulsed and fell, smoke rising from their charred bodies.
Within seconds, the elite Arlong Pirates were reduced to a pile of twitching bodies.
"Lightning," Darian mused, looking at his hand. "Truly the power of a god. No wonder Enel had a god complex."
CRUNCH.
From the forest ruins, a figure emerged.
Arlong dragged himself out of the crater. Half his face was caved in, blood pouring from his mouth. But he was alive. Fish-men were tough.
"You..." Arlong wheezed, his eyes burning with insanity. He looked at his fallen crew. His brothers.
"YOU KILLED THEM!"
"I didn't kill them," Darian said calmly. "I just gave them a taste of what they did to Nami. Does it hurt, Arlong? Seeing your family destroyed? Nami watched you kill her mother. Eight years ago."
"Nami?!" Arlong roared. "That traitorous bitch! I'll kill her! I'll kill everyone in Cocoyasi Village! I'll make her watch them die!"
Darian's expression went blank.
"Wrong answer."
He vanished again.
He reappeared above Kuroobi, who was groaning on the ground.
SQUELCH.
Darian stomped down. Hard.
Kuroobi's head vanished into the pavement.
"NO!" Arlong screamed.
"You like pain?" Darian asked coldly. "Let's see how much you can take."
"I'LL KILL YOU!"
Arlong went berserk. He grabbed a massive serrated sword—the Kiribachi—and lunged.
"Shark On Darts!"
He launched himself like a torpedo, spinning rapidly, aiming to drill a hole through Darian's chest.
Darian stood his ground. He pulled his right arm back. A white sphere of vibrating light formed around his fist.
"Heavenly Path: Tenfold Vibration Fist!"
He punched forward.
Fist met Sword.
CRACK!
The air itself seemed to shatter like glass.
The Kiribachi disintegrated into dust. The shockwave continued, slamming into Arlong.
BOOM!
Arlong's bones shattered. His internal organs ruptured. His indestructible shark skin split open.
The force of the punch blasted through him and hit the main building of Arlong Park behind him.
The multi-story pagoda—the symbol of his tyranny—crumbled. It collapsed into rubble, burying the legacy of the Arlong Pirates forever.
The ground shook. The pool water exploded into the sky.
When the dust settled, Arlong lay in a heap of rubble. He wasn't moving.
Darian stood amidst the ruins, panting slightly. The 'Second Gear' took a toll on his stamina, but thanks to the earlier absorption, he was fine.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
He heard footsteps behind him.
He turned around.
Nami stood there. She was staring at the ruins of Arlong Park. The tower where she had been imprisoned for eight years was gone. The monster who killed her mother was defeated.
She looked at Darian. Her eyes were wide, filled with tears.
Darian smiled, though he looked exhausted.
"Nami," he whispered. "You're free."
Nami's lip quivered.
"Yes," she sobbed.
She ran to him, throwing herself into his arms. She buried her face in his chest and cried—not tears of fear this time, but tears of relief.
"It's over," Darian murmured, stroking her hair. "It's finally over."
