Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Reborn

[AUTHOR NOTE: A friend suggested that I ask readers for powerstones and reviews. It will help my fic reach more people. I know that readers are lazy. So I will give 3 extra chapters for 15 good reviews. 1 chapter for 5 review. And 1 extra chapter for 100 powerstone. I think this motivation is enough. Have a good day.]

The sheer violence with which Darian shoved the strange fruit down his throat left everyone stunned. Nami froze. Even Bakal, the bloodthirsty butcher, paused mid-step, confused by the boy's suicidal desperation.

Darian choked, his throat bulging as the fruit lodged halfway down.

"You idiot!"

Nami snapped out of her daze. Thinking he was choking to death—or perhaps just losing his mind—she wound up and slapped him across the face.

SNAP!

The crisp sound echoed through the night. The force of the slap dislodged the fruit, sending the bulk of it flying out of his mouth and onto the deck. But it was too late. Darian had already swallowed a chunk of it.

In the world of Devil Fruits, one bite is all it takes.

As the pulp slid down his esophagus, an unprecedented, foul taste exploded in his mouth. It tasted like rotting garbage mixed with chemicals.

Darian, who was already nauseous from the sight of the decapitated pirates, couldn't hold it back. He retched violently. But as he gagged, a strange, warm current began to spread from his stomach, racing through his veins like liquid fire.

"Hahahaha!" Bakal burst into laughter, recovering from his surprise. "Kid, if you wanted to die, I would have given you a quick stab! Did you think choking yourself was a better way out?"

Ignoring the pirate's mockery, Nami pounded on Darian's back, torn between concern and anger. "Idiot! Even if you're scared, there's no need to commit suicide!"

Darian couldn't answer. He was on fire.

Every cell in his body was screaming, tearing apart and knitting back together.

"Darian, say something!" Nami reached out to grab his shoulder again.

ZAP!

A jagged arc of blue electricity shot out from Darian's skin the moment she touched him.

"Ah!" Nami shrieked, recoiling as her hand went numb.

She stared in horror, but the horror quickly turned to awe. The power of the fruit was overflowing, rewriting Darian's biology in real-time.

The changes were instantaneous. His skin, previously roughened by wind and sun, shed its dead layers, revealing a surface that was fair, smooth, and glowing with an ethereal sheen. His facial features shifted, aligning into perfect symmetry. His muscles tightened and defined themselves.

If his appearance before was a respectable 70, he had just shattered the scale, soaring past 100.

He wasn't just handsome; he was captivating. A mysterious, almost supernatural halo seemed to flow over his skin, an intrinsic charm that demanded attention.

"Darian..." Nami whispered.

The dim light of the oil lamp seemed to bend around him. As Nami looked at his face, her heart began to pound—not from fear, but from a sudden, overwhelming attraction. For a moment, she forgot the danger, the treasure, and the pirate captain. She just wanted to look at him.

Darian inhaled deeply. The fear was gone. The nausea was gone. He felt light, yet filled with an endless, surging power.

He stood up and looked at Bakal.

Even Bakal, a man who preferred the company of women, felt a strange stutter in his heartbeat when he locked eyes with Darian. The boy's charisma was weaponized, similar to the legendary Boa Hancock. It was a charm that transcended gender.

But while Bakal was momentarily distracted by Darian's beauty, Darian was already moving.

He didn't need to think; the instinct was implanted in his muscles. Darian raised his right hand, palm facing the giant pirate.

Crackle.

Arcs of electricity danced between his fingers.

"Disappear," Darian whispered.

BOOM!

A bolt of blinding blue-white lightning erupted from his palm.

The air instantly superheated, expanding with a deafening thunderclap. Before Bakal could even blink, the beam slammed into his chest.

"ARGH!"

Bakal howled as he was blasted backward. His chest turned black, smoke rising from his skin, and branching Lichtenberg figures etched themselves across his torso. The lightning punched through him, slamming into the cabin wall behind him and setting the wood on fire.

In the captain's quarters, the remaining prostitutes screamed, huddling together in terror as the ship shook.

But this was the One Piece world. Humans here were monsters.

Despite taking a direct hit from a lightning bolt, Bakal didn't die. His eyes rolled back in pain, but he planted his feet.

"You... little...!"

Bakal was a veteran. He ran on rage and adrenaline. Like a wounded tiger, the pain only made him more dangerous.

"Die!!"

Bakal roared, leaping forward with his massive broadsword raised high. He put every ounce of his strength into a downward cleave, aiming to split this glowing boy in two.

"Darian! Dodge!" Nami screamed, the lightning's flash snapping her out of her trance.

But Darian didn't dodge. He didn't even flinch. He just stood there, watching the blade descend.

Bakal grinned savagely. He's frozen with fear!

The blade, sharp enough to cut through solid rock, struck Darian's raised forearm.

THWACK.

There was no spray of blood. No severed limb.

The blade hit Darian's skin and stopped dead, as if it had struck a tire made of diamond. The skin depressed slightly, absorbing the impact like high-density silicone, then rebounded. Not even a white mark was left on his fair arm.

"How... how is that possible?!"

Bakal's eyes nearly popped out of his skull. He pushed down with all his weight, but the sword wouldn't cut.

Darian looked at his own arm, surprised but pleased. So, this is the body of the fruit.

"My turn," Darian said calmly.

He pulled his arm back and clenched his fist. A sphere of translucent white light formed around his hand, vibrating with a terrifying hum.

He punched Bakal square in the chest.

CLICK.

The sound was small, like glass breaking, but the effect was catastrophic. The very air in front of Darian's fist cracked like a mirror.

CRASH!

The vibration force erupted.

It wasn't just a punch; it was a shockwave. Bakal's ribcage collapsed. The kinetic energy traveled through his body and exploded out his back.

Bakal was launched backward like a cannonball. He smashed through the burning wall of the cabin, smashed through the exterior hull of the ship, and flew out over the dark ocean.

SPLASH!

A massive geyser of water erupted where he landed, far in the distance.

In the year 1520 of the Sea Calendar, the notorious pirate "Butcher" Bakal, worth 15 million Berries, was defeated in a single exchange. He vanished into the cold night sea, his legend ended by a rookie with a strange pink fruit.
