Chapter 1 - Rebellion.

Ashfel and Grandfel were always fascinated with ghosts.

They've always went to abandon houses to try to find ghosts, but they always end up finding a weird looking man...

Now, they're currently in a run down looking town, waiting for someone.

The place is quite weird, everything and everyone looks gloomy and dark.

"Why is there even a broken clocktower?"

"No idea."

"But dude, did you actually get us lost? Everything smells like dogshit!" said with a joking tone.

"You think I'm that dumb? No chance I'm losing out on finding ghosts, we just have to wait for him."

"It sure looks like we're lost.."

They continue to walk around while waiting for someone,

When suddenly, Ashfel called out for Grandfel "Yo, Grand, come look at this. Don't you think this door is too clean to be in a place like this?"

"Honestly? Yeah it shouldn't be here. Wait hold on, maybe this is some sort of gate to a ghost dimension??"

"Holy shit, I didn't think of that! Lets go in it!"

They went in the door.

"What the? What is this place?"

"Lets go back out, now."

THUMP!

Grandfel slammed his whole body onto an overly saturated yellow wall.

"What the fuck is this? Where's the door??"

"Holy shit, we might've actually went into a ghost dimension!"

"This is serious! What if we get hurt or lost??"

"Sigh...Stop being so serious, we're just going on a small adventure, aren't we?"

"b-but"

"No buts, we're already stuck in here, so why not have some fun?"

"Man, I wanted normal ghost stuff, not weird ghost dimension."

They walk through this weird looking house.

Everything is over-saturated and grainy, like in the late 2000s.

"Grand! Come over here!!"

"Coming!"

As Grandfel runs though the hallway, he gets a glimpse of what seems to be a blurry man.

The blurry man seemed to have a foggy coat that steals all the saturation and color around him.

He brushes it off as it could've been a hallucination

"Dude, look at this! Doesn't this feel familiar to you?"

"Hmmm, yeah actually, but i don't remember whats familiar about it."

"same, same."

"Anyways, I found another door! Lets totally go through it!"

"Bleh, how lost do you want us to get."

"Just follow me."

They walk through the door into a playground.

Although its a whole different place, it still has that grainy, over-saturated, and a new foggy look.

For some weird reason, Grandfel and Ashfel seem to have grown older--they look around 14-15

"I feel bitter."

"I feel the same. Why do we feel this way?"

"No idea. Lets look around."

"The world seems blurrier and noisier."

As they walk around the playground, They both somehow come across a road that splits in three.

Ashfel chuckles

"ahahhaha, what the hell."

"Whats funny about this..."

"Sighh"

"I don't have good luck. Lets choose middle."

"Yeah sure, I've been leading this whole time, maybe its your turn."

They went into the fog.

He is left behind, looking at the playground.

He, for some reason, feel grief as the playground disappears.

"So beautiful.."

"Hey! Wait up!"

"Maybe you should walk faster instead of me walking slower, lol."

"Hmph, I don't like you leading!"

"Hey, Ash, doesn't that look like a poppy?

"Hmm, Yeah it does!"

"Lets get a closer look."

As they run towards the poppy, It seems to get further and further away.

They feel an unnatural desperation while sprinting towards it.

The poppy gets lost in the fog.

"Grandfel, why are you crying?!"

"Am I?"

"Woah, did you really run so fast that you started crying? Hahahaha."

Both of them sits down with a perplexed but somewhat pensive facial expression.

"Hey, ash. What would you do if there was a raging fog coming for you?"

"Hahaha, what?"

"...."

"Okay, fine."

Ashfel thought for a few seconds, and for a split second, Ashfel let out a saddened expression, but pulled it back and went back to his cheerful self.

"Well, I'd dance!"

"You promise that you'd dance?"

"Promise!"

Grandfel let out a bittersweet smile.

Ash saw it. He, despite his cheerful and somewhat dumb self, saw Grandfel's bittersweet smile.

"Please, Ash, please dance till the end."

Grandfel stood up and walked into the fog.

Grandfel is now lost in the fog.

Ash cried.

He cried, cried, and cried.

He cried for an immeasurable amount of time.

"Grandfel, I promised that I'd dance, but I can't dance anymore."

"Why couldn't you have stayed with me?"

"Why couldn't you have danced with me?"

Ashfel then walked into the fog, getting lost, just like Grandfel, he said

"I'm sorry, Grand. Sorry for breaking the promise."

He, too, cried, as he walked out of the fog. His heart burned as he bent down to pick up the shattered pieces of Ashfel and Grandfel's promise--shards of a dance that will never happen again, tucked into his coat, which smelled like poppies.

"Don't be sorry. Even in the fog, the dance was beautiful."
