Chapter 3 - the rules of bloody night

Jay POV

Morning at Hell University didn't feel like morning.

There was no warmth. No normal noise. Just silence that felt heavy on my chest. I woke up early, staring at the ceiling, replaying last night in my head again and again.

This place didn't sleep.

It waited.

"Jay, you awake?" Lia whispered from the next bed.

"Yeah," I replied, sitting up.

The pills were placed neatly on our table—small, white, harmless-looking. I didn't like them. Not one bit.

"Do we really have to take these?" Percy asked, holding one between his fingers.

"Yes," Aries said calmly. "It's a rule."

Rules.

That word already felt dangerous.

I swallowed the pill without another thought. If this place wanted to test me, fine. I wasn't scared of tests. I was scared of traps.

We headed out for our first classes, the hallways now filled with students. But something was wrong. People looked alert. Tense. Like everyone was watching everyone else.

No laughter. No comfort.

Just suspicion.

That's when I noticed them.

Five tall figures standing at the end of the corridor.

Masks covering their faces. White. Blank. Lifeless.

I felt my body tense instantly.

"The Five Masked Men," someone whispered behind me.

"If blood falls," another voice said softly, "they come."

My fists clenched.

So this was real.

In class, no one focused. Professors taught like nothing was wrong, like death wasn't written into the rules of this place.

Then, just before evening, the announcement came.

A sharp bell echoed through the campus.

"Attention students," a cold voice said through the speakers. "Tonight marks Bloody Night."

The room went dead silent.

"After 7 PM, all students must be inside their rooms. Any violation will be punished."

My heartbeat picked up.

"Remember," the voice continued, "only special individuals can control the Masked Men. Interference is forbidden."

Lia grabbed my arm. "Jay…"

"I'm fine," I said, though my stomach twisted.

As we walked back to the dorm, everyone moved faster. Doors slammed. Locks clicked.

At exactly 7 PM, the lights outside dimmed.

That's when I felt it.

A strange pull.

Like something inside me was waking up.

I didn't understand it yet, but I knew one thing—

This place wasn't just watching us.

It was choosing.

And Bloody Night was only the beginning.

I sat on my bed, staring at my hands.

If Hell University thought it could control me…

They were wrong
