Chapter 1 - The Start

"Today's date is October 29th, 2065. I have with me Elias Crowe, better known as Prometheus. The 65 year old geneciodal manic that was killed over 7,000 people as Prometheus," a young man spoke as he started a tape recorder

Sitting across from him was a man who seemed inhuman. Chained to a bolted-down steel chair. The man who stood at six feet, easily weighing 240 pounds of muscle that bulged through his straight jacket and long, greying hair that reached his shoulders.

"Alright, Mr.Crowe, why don't we get started...I'm sure the world wants to know the story behind what you did and why," Spoke another female detective as he pulled up a stack of files.

"I sure...the world knows why I did what I did," Elias spoke he voice raspy and deep

"Yes...We know what you claim to be doing it for, but let's start from the beginning. About your first kill and why you started," A third and final person, a young man, a profiler, added

It all starts in the year 2014. I was a young boy running home from school in the heavy rain, forgetting my umbrella.

As I turned on the street, my house was one that's when I saw it. My mother and father are standing outside speaking with a man. He was well dressed with another man who stood by his side and held his umbrella.

I slowed my running to a walk, and what I started set off a chain of events: the well-dressed man. As he hugged my mother, I saw the look in his eyes. The predatory look. My father must have realized as he pushed the man back. Never seen my father violent before, but it seemed like he was going to kill the man.

Anyway, the man stared at my father with a pissed-off look and got back in his car after handing my mother a small card. With that, they went inside. I was confused as a kid. I never understood why my father was so angry, the look on the man's face, or the situation.

But that didn't matter. My understanding. All I knew was that two days later, my father was hit by a car. Police saw it was an accident. A hit and run, the guy was never caught by the police.

I was confused. Why could something like this happen? I never thought about the man, I just sat outside my father's hospital room with my sister and brother. Praying he would get better.

It was not even a week before I saw the man appear again. He appeared at the hospital. Feaining sadness as he consuled my mother. That's when it really started with him and his 'visits. Checking on us, making sure he had what we needed. You see, my father was the breadwinner of the family. So when that happened, my mother was burdened with caring for the house and paying the hospital bills. So when he offered him a job as his assistant, she took it.

It was good at first; she was doing less stressful work, getting paid more, and spending time with us. But slowly she started staying later for work. Sometimes, even spending the night out. I was a kid, right... What did I know? Except that my mother was taking care of us.

Then the business trips started. Leaving for a few days, then a week, then two weeks at a time. That's spending more time at the house. While my father was dying in a hospital bed. My mother was bringing that man over. I thought nothing of it until I heard the sounds. The sound of her sins.

But you know, I wasn't an idiot. I soon found out from my sister that my mother used to date that man a long time ago. I get it, you possibly lose the man you love, then a man you used to love comes and solves all your problems. It's natural. But what I didn't understand was the fact that my father was still alive, struggling every day in agony, while he indulged in her lust with that man in our own home.

I ignored it for a while until my father passed. His injuries were too severe. He fought for months but could not withstand it anymore and passed away in his sleep. My hatred grew then because she did something unforgivable. She didn't even come to the funeral. Had a 'Business trip' that could not be pushed back. While my father was being buried before me, she was off doing God knows what.

"So you hated your mother for abandoning you... that's the cause of what you're telling us," Detective Baker asked

No...thats just the start. Soon after, our mother barely came home. Stayed on trips for weeks on end jsut sending us money to take care of ourselves. My sister Evangeline, the oldest, had to take care of everything. But she was hurt. Our father, who was the closest to her, was dead, our mother was gone, and there was the stress of school and volleyball.

It was too much for one person to handle. So when he boyfriend, the captain of the baseball team, offered her some weed to calm down, she tried it. It worked; she was able to balance it for a bit, but the stress only continued to grow.

Soon enough, the weed turned to strooms, then stronger and stronger. I could see her getting paler, skinnier, and sicker. That made everything worse. She was kicked off the team she worked with since her freshman year. The school expelled her for having drugs on her.

And that so-called boyfriend left her. Got her hooked on hard drugs, then dumped her like trash on the side of the road. She left home soon after that. Jumping from crack house to crack house.

My brother, who was just seventeen, had to tell me the news. That our sister, a smart, beautiful woman with her whole life ahead of her, was found dead in a back alley. Overdosed on heroin.

That really broke my brother. In a year and a half, we lost our Father, mother, and sister. But he found a way to get by. His grilfirned. They had been dating for three years, and she was the main thing keeping him going.

So when he found the truth, I wasn't surprised that he did what he did. His girlfriend had been cheating on him for a year. With his friend. When he found out, he went to the roof of the school at the end of the day... he jumped.

And by some twisted play of fate, I was walking outside as he jumped. He fell right in front of me. I watched as the life faded from his eyes. Watch him struggle to say his last words as he coughed up his own blood.

"What about your mother?"

She didn't even come to the funeral. A family friend planned it. I don't even think she knew. She changed her number so much that I doubt anyone could get in contact with her.

"So you lost your whole family. The pain causes you to take revenge on the world?"

Close but not quite. I did get my revenge on each person who caused my family to shatter. I continued my work because I was exposed to the horrible truth of this world. I had taken a step towards the evil the fill this world. The stench I just couldn't stop smelling. I consumed darkness and smell. Consumed by the flames of Prometheus.

"I see...why don't we start with your first case...Alexander Graves..."
