The drive back to the estate felt endless. Every second stretched into eternity while Sienna's mind replayed the image of Isabella—her tiny body in that incubator, being carried away by armed men, disappearing into the darkness.
"Faster," Luca growled at Gia.
"I'm already doing twenty over the limit—"
"I don't give a fuck, Gia. Faster."
The van's engine roared as Gia pressed the accelerator. Sienna sat there, frozen, her hands clenched into fists so tight her nails drew blood from her palms. She couldn't think. Couldn't breathe. Could only see her daughter's face, hear the phantom sound of her cries.
"She's alive," Luca said, his hand finding hers. "Alejandro needs her alive as leverage. He won't hurt her."
"You don't know that."
"Yes, I do." Luca's voice was absolute certainty. "This is business to him. Isabella is an asset, not a target. As long as we don't make a move, she's safe."
