Chapter 1 - The Mundane

As I fall into emptiness surrounded by loneliness, I feel the sudden urge of jumping down the abyss.

Whenever I reminisce about the past I feel emptiness, and when I look up at the future I see thorns.

The path ahead seems to only hurt, but I will never know until I

Reach The End.

I lean forward, while the force against my feet seems to lighten. My sight is not clear and all my other senses tingle, as if the wind tickles me all over.

As my body twists, along with my experience, I, at the end of it all, feel everything.

Then nothing.

-

This ENDING is SO ass - he mutters upon finishing what could only be considered peak fiction. He closes the book in his hands, and turns his head to his right, towards a dark and empty hallway.

The hallway, no more than three meters long, has two brown doors on the left and one hole on the right. A perfectly rectangular hole, a door without the door. A Doorway.

He throws the book in his hands towards the empty hallway and falls backwards on something hard as wood, the floor.

"owow" >_<

He lies on the floor, like a pig on its back, staring at the ceiling, tracing every line in his sight.

"I could swear there was like a sofa or something here"

thought the boy, before he closed his eyes.

Minutes pass by, and the boy is exercising his skinny, but fat, body. Push-ups, sit-ups, squats and a few steps around the small and empty room.

"Smaragd!"

"Coming!"

The boy, Smaragd, confidently walks towards the doorway on the left side of the hallway.

He reaches the doorway. He then enters the doorway. He goes down the stairs in front of him.

But he can't reach the steps. It's like the steps are running away from him.

In reality, the boy was actually floating upwards... Attempting to run downwards.

Like gravity was not in his favour.

The stairs seem to get smaller.

My body is larger, but I feel lighter.

I flail my legs back and forth. The legs on my body move, but they don't feel like my own.

Legs tiring out. Heart beating faster and kicking at me, wanting to

escape.

Everything is smaller than usual, while myself larger than usual.

Hands quickly drawn to the top of my chest, clenching,

I look up.

My eyes dry and redden as I stare at what is above.

-

I wake up at what seems to be a wooden desk, cramped with books and metal gadgets.

In front of me is a note which reads:

the world ended. there was not enough aura.[1]

[1] aura.
