Chapter 52 - CHAPTER FIFTY TWO

At first, Si Tian had thought that once he apologised properly, things would gradually return to normal. Perhaps Yu Weiwei simply needed some time to calm down.

But the days passed.

Then more days.

And Yu Weiwei still refused to speak to him.

At first, Si Tian didn't think much of it. He continued trying to approach him whenever he had the opportunity, thinking that eventually Yu Weiwei would get tired of being angry.

But he couldn't get through to him. Instead, Yu Weiwei became even more distant.

His mother's words also made things more complicated.

She had told him several times that Yu Weiwei should be more understanding. Si Tian had already admitted his mistake, after all. There was no reason for him to keep lowering himself when Yu Weiwei refused to even give him a chance to explain.

Si Tian didn't completely agree with her.

At least, not at first.

But hearing the same thing repeatedly inevitably left a mark.

Especially when the people around him began noticing what was happening.

His friends would occasionally tease him about it.

"Still haven't made up? Figures, you did him dirty because of that Yu bitch."

"Didn't you two used to be inseparable? The Yu Weiwei I knew should have forgiven you by now."

"How long is Yu Weiwei planning to ignore you?"

They usually said it jokingly, and Si Tian would laugh it off.

Sometimes, he even joked along with them.

But there were moments when their words lingered in his mind longer than they should have.

He had never expected Yu Weiwei to hold a grudge for this long.

And lately, there was something else bothering him.

Yu Weiwei was changing.

Si Tian had been paying attention to his movements these past few days, though he wouldn't admit that he was deliberately keeping track of him.

His strength was increasing at an alarming rate.

His movements were sharper.

His aura was more stable.

Even the way he carried himself had changed.

It wasn't something that could be easily explained, but Si Tian could feel the difference.

Yu Weiwei was becoming stronger.

Much stronger.

At first, Si Tian was happy about it.

After all, Yu Weiwei becoming stronger was a good thing. Because finally, Yu Weiwei would be worthy of standing beside him.

But the longer he watched, the stranger that feeling became.

There was a faint sense of uneasiness whenever he realised that Yu Weiwei had once again surpassed his expectations.

It wasn't jealousy.

At least, Si Tian didn't think it was.

He simply found it difficult to adjust.

The Yu Weiwei he remembered had always been close to him.

He had always known where Yu Weiwei was, what he was doing, and what he was thinking.

Now, that familiarity was slowly disappearing.

Yu Weiwei had started walking his own path.

And Si Tian wasn't sure when he had stopped being part of it.

That thought bothered him more than it should have.

He told himself it was because they had known each other for so long.

Anyone would feel strange if a person they had grown up with suddenly became distant.

That was all.

So whenever his friends made another joke about Yu Weiwei ignoring him, Si Tian simply smiled and changed the subject.

He didn't want to admit that the jokes were beginning to irritate him.

Nor did he want to admit that when Yu Weiwei walked past him today without even looking his way, there was a small, unpleasant feeling in his chest.

Perhaps Yu Weiwei was simply being stubborn.

Perhaps he was deliberately trying to make him feel guilty.

Si Tian occasionally had these thoughts.

Then he would dismiss them.

After all, he had been the one who made the mistake.

He should be the one to apologise.

He understood that.

But understanding something didn't necessarily make it easy to endure.

Especially when the person he was apologising to seemed to have already moved on.

"Weiwei... where were you throughout today? I couldn't even find you in the library."

Si Tian looked at him, trying to change the topic. Yu Weiwei was always in the library whenever he couldn't be seen, so it was surprising that he wasn't there today.

Seeing him still ignoring him, Si Tian felt a little annoyed, but he calmed down when he thought of those engagement gifts.

He had always thought they were his, and it was only a matter of time before they would become his.

Yu Weiwei's engagement gifts were something even the royal families couldn't come up with.

He had used a quarter of those things on himself, which had improved his mental power and his physique. Returning the engagement gifts had almost caused his father's company to collapse.

"I was wrong, okay? I shouldn't have listened to Yu Yuan..."

He spoke sincerely enough, but there was a trace of fatigue beneath his voice.

He had apologised so many times that he no longer knew what else he could say.

Yu Weiwei didn't respond. Instead, he simply stared at him with undisguised dislike.

Si Tian's smile slowly faded.

For a moment, he felt a little frustrated.

But he quickly suppressed it.

He shouldn't be angry.

Yu Weiwei was still upset.

He just needed more time.

That was all.

"Weiwei, can you at least let me finish?"

"No."

Yu Weiwei's answer was immediate.

Si Tian's expression froze for half a second.

Then he smiled again, though the smile was slightly more strained this time.

"You're really angry."

Yu Weiwei gave him a flat look before trying to move towards the signing machine.

Realising this, Si Tian tried stopping him. If he allowed Yu Weiwei to go this time, he might not be able to catch him again.

Yu Weiwei didn't glance at him. Instead, he used his Dimension Authority to trap him in that spot.

After signing out, seeing Si Tian still stuck there, Yu Weiwei had a wicked thought.

'Should I just leave him there?' Yu Weiwei thought.

And he did.

He would just let him go tomorrow when he came to school.

Before Yu Weiwei disappeared, his villainous snicker could be heard.

Si Tian stood there dumbfounded before realising what was going on.

He tried contacting his personal terminal, but he couldn't move because the space had restricted him.

Si Tian, realising what was going on, started to shout, but no one could hear him.

It was already night, and the boarding students' curfew had already passed. Only the day students could leave the school at this moment, but most of them had already gone home.

Realising this, Si Tian fell into despair.

Zayn, who had seen this because his mental power was covering the whole school, couldn't help but laugh.

He would have really loved to leave him there, but Yu Weiwei would get punished for it, so he decided to leave him there for an hour or two.

The days went by, and Yu Weiwei was able to adjust to the school's pace. The most significant thing that happened was that some students came to apologise, and Yu Weiwei made two new friends. Though it was one-sided, Yu Weiwei had absolutely no intention of having friends.

"Weiwei, did you know the Inter-Orbit Tournament is starting soon? In three weeks' time?" Yule, one of Yu Weiwei's one-sided friends, commented as he stared at the glowing Yu Weiwei.

"Inter-Orbit Tournament?" Yu Weiwei was a little confused before he realised what it was.

It was a tournament between kingdoms, or you could say orbits. Different departments bring their best students forward, and they compete with the other schools' best. Once the winners of each department emerge, they compete for their kingdoms. And the winning kingdom is able to get resources.

The winners themselves are also entitled to 10% of these treasure resources, making it one of the grandest events ever known, as it includes every race and kingdom.

"Weiwei is definitely participating. After all, Weiwei is the best in our department." Lisa, Yu Weiwei's other one-sided friend, commented with admiration written all over her face.

Yu Weiwei is currently in the Mecha Repair Department. As for why he ended up in this department, it was all thanks to Yu Weiwei's former infatuation.

Si Tian is a Mecha Warrior, and the people closest to Mecha Warriors are their doctors and their Mecha Mechanics.

Yu Weiwei wanted to become a military doctor so he could be near Si Tian, but he wasn't allowed to because he hadn't come of age.

To be honest, Yu Weiwei is currently the youngest student in the academy, while others enter the academy at the age of twenty-five, while even geniuses enter at the age of twenty-three. Yu Weiwei got here at the age of nineteen.

At that time, the person presiding over the Medical Department wouldn't allow Yu Weiwei into his department at such a tender age, even though he had the best results out of all the students that participated that year.
