Chapter 50 - CHAPTER FIFTY

"Hahahaha, not everyone knows this, but God Xu's main profession before he became a god was actually a mecha constructor, also known as a Forge Master."

Zayn chuckled.

"Besides, we already have a God of Mecha, we can't have another one."

"Gasp!"

Yu Weiwei's eyes widened.

"You mean..."

His mouth fell open in realization.

"That's right."

Zayn nodded.

"He's the forge master."

"Waaah!"

Yu Weiwei couldn't help exclaiming in surprise.

The Forge Master had created hundreds of legendary mechas throughout history. His name was practically engraved into the history of mecha development.

He had even been involved in the creation of the physical bodies of the Three AI Guardians.

Even Yu Weiwei, who wasn't particularly interested in the history of the mecha gods, knew about him.

Zayn couldn't help laughing when he saw the astonished expression on Yu Weiwei's face.

He really was too easy to surprise.

After enjoying his reaction for a moment, Zayn continued.

"Well, after God Xu ascended, the world remained stable for several hundred years."

His expression gradually became more serious.

"However, the God of Mechas eventually couldn't bear it anymore."

"God Xu was gaining followers at an increasingly frightening rate. Even many of the wandering ghosts began worshipping him."

Zayn paused.

"The God of Mechas became jealous."

Yu Weiwei blinked.

"Jealous?"

"Hmm."

Zayn nodded.

"No matter how powerful the God of Mystic Puppets became, he could never surpass the God of Mechas in terms of accumulated power. The God of Mechas had existed for countless years and had already established a deep foundation."

"He had followers, believers, and an enormous amount of accumulated divine power."

"God Xu, on the other hand, was still a newly ascended god."

"But despite that, his number of followers continued increasing at an astonishing speed."

Zayn sighed.

"Eventually, God Xu was betrayed."

Yu Weiwei's expression became serious.

"And after that?"

"His whereabouts became unknown."

"What?!"

Yu Weiwei stared at Zayn in disbelief.

"He just disappeared?"

"Yes."

Zayn nodded.

"No one knew where he went or whether he was still alive."

Yu Weiwei fell silent for a moment before suddenly thinking of something. He was sure god Xu was alive. He confirmed it from that red jade.

"Ah? Then we still have the God of Mechas as the only god?"

His expression became slightly worried.

"Wouldn't that bring his wrath upon us or something?"

There was a perfectly valid reason behind Yu Weiwei's concern.

Not all gods were compassionate.

In fact, most gods held grudges far more deeply than ordinary people could imagine.

Yu Weiwei knew this from personal experience.

He had once completed a mission where he himself had become a god, so he knew perfectly well what kind of people they were.

After all, one couldn't exactly expect people who had emerged from a dog-eat-dog world, fought their way to the top, and eventually become gods to suddenly turn into saints.

Power did not automatically make someone kind.

Sometimes, it only made their grudges more terrifying.

And the God of Mechas had every reason to be displeased.

The people of this world had gradually begun placing their faith in another god, even though the God of Mechas had not done anything to deserve the faith of most people.

Worse still, with God Xu's disappearance, the God of Mechas was once again the only true god connected to their world.

It wasn't difficult to imagine how he might view the situation.

The entire world was practically his territory.

And the people living within it had almost chosen someone else.

"You are perfectly right."

Zayn's expression became solemn.

"He did want to bring his wrath upon us."

Yu Weiwei's expression immediately became tense.

"But God Xu had already predicted that possibility."

Zayn continued calmly.

"Before his disappearance, he cast a protection over this world."

"That protection is the only reason the God of Mechas hasn't been able to directly interfere with us."

Yu Weiwei breathed a small sigh of relief.

But Zayn's next words made his expression freeze.

"Unfortunately, it won't last forever."

His voice became heavier.

"Especially now that the number of wandering ghosts who cannot reincarnate has continued to increase."

"Once that protection weakens enough..."

Zayn didn't finish the sentence immediately.

He simply looked at Yu Weiwei.

Yu Weiwei's expression slowly became serious.

"So this peace..."

"Won't last long."

Zayn nodded.

"We don't know when it will end."

"Perhaps in ten years."

He paused.

"Perhaps in a hundred years."

His eyes darkened.

"But sooner or later, that protection will disappear."

"And when it does..."

Zayn's voice lowered.

"The God of Mechas will remember this world."

"Ah?! What do we do?" Yu Weiwei asked, his voice carrying a hint of anxiety.

"And that's where you and System 001 come into play."

Zayn said this while gently stroking Yu Weiwei's head, his eyes filled with complicated emotions.

"Huh?"

Yu Weiwei was slightly stunned.

He hadn't expected himself to be connected to this matter in such a way.

"Sigh..."

Zayn let out a long sigh before continuing.

"The only person capable of bringing god Xu back is someone who can tear through dimensions."

His expression became solemn.

"And for countless years, the only person capable of doing that has been Yu Weiwei."

Yu Weiwei's eyes widened slightly.

"But even the God of Mechas knows this."

Zayn's voice became heavier.

"Naturally, he won't allow you to grow to the point where you can threaten him. So, he colluded with the Heavenly Dao."

"Huh?!"

Yu Weiwei's eyes widened in disbelief.

"How could the Heavenly Dao do something like that? Wouldn't doing so bring catastrophe upon its own people?"

He was genuinely confused.

Every Heavenly Dao he had encountered existed for the sake of the people under its jurisdiction. Even if the world itself was threatened, the Heavenly Dao would normally protect its people.

If it knew that its actions would eventually cause countless people to die, it should never have agreed to such a thing.

"You're right."

Zayn nodded.

"The Heavenly Dao wouldn't willingly do something like that."

He paused, his fingers still gently running through Yu Weiwei's fluffy hair.

"But, Weiwei, there's a reason the Heavenly Dao can always be replaced."

Yu Weiwei's expression became serious.

"Sometimes, they become corrupted without even realizing it."

"Corrupted?"

"Hmm."

Zayn nodded.

"When malicious beings interfere with the Heavenly Dao, their influence can slowly seep into it. And the frightening part is that the Heavenly Dao itself might not even realize that it has been corrupted."

"Ah?"

Yu Weiwei was stunned.

He had heard about Heavenly Daos being corrupted before, but he had never personally witnessed such a thing.

"So..."

Zayn's eyes darkened.

"You are someone who doesn't entirely belong to this world."

"Even though this world's Heavenly Dao has already been corrupted, it still instinctively recognizes you as an outsider."

"And because of that, it has only one thought."

"Eliminate you."

Yu Weiwei's expression stiffened.

"But the problem is..."

Zayn sighed.

"That thought became deeply rooted within it."

"The corrupted Heavenly Dao wants to eliminate the very person who can save this world."

Yu Weiwei sat silently, trying to digest everything.

"Yu Weiwei, we couldn't prevent your terrible fate."

Zayn's voice softened.

"So your father, Lin Zhe, suggested that we travel to different worlds and accumulate enough power to change your fate."

"With enough power, you would be able to bring God Xu back."

He paused.

"And if you couldn't do that..."

His gaze became complicated.

"You could become a god yourself."

Yu Weiwei's eyes widened slightly.

"But there was one major problem."

Zayn's expression became serious.

"Could we actually move from one world to another without restrictions?"

"And more importantly..."

"Could we travel between worlds without being detected and destroyed by the Heavenly Daos of those worlds?"

Yu Weiwei's expression became increasingly complicated.

That was indeed a problem.

Every world had its own laws.

Its own Heavenly Dao.

Its own rules governing life, death, reincarnation, and everything in between.

A foreign existence suddenly entering another world would naturally be considered an anomaly.

"So Yin Li, your father's friend, came up with an idea."

Zayn smiled faintly.

"He asked, 'What if it isn't a living being that moves from world to world?'"

Yu Weiwei blinked.

"If an inanimate object could travel between worlds, perhaps the Heavenly Dao wouldn't detect it as an invading lifeform."

"And from that idea..."

Zayn paused.

"System 001 was created."

Yu Weiwei's eyes widened.

"So the system..."

"Yes."

Zayn nodded.

"System 001 was designed to travel between worlds while avoiding detection by the Heavenly Dao."

"It could collect information, guide its host, and accumulate resources and power from different worlds."

"And who else could possibly be more suitable as its host?"

Zayn looked directly at him.

"Who else could travel through dimensions without being restricted by the laws of a single world?"

His hand gently patted Yu Weiwei's head.

"That's you."

"Yu Weiwei."

"The Dimension Master."

Yu Weiwei sat there completely stunned.

His mind felt as though someone had soaked a piece of bread in water and then tried to force it back into its original shape.
