Because now Yeongjae was above me, hovering, caging me in with his arms, looking at me like I was something he intended to devour completely.

“Did you have fun playing with me?” he asked, the corner of his mouth lifting in a dangerous smirk.

“I—I wasn’t playing with—”

“Shut up.”

Before I could react, his hand was on my jaw, holding me still as his mouth crashed into mine. His tongue swept inside, deep and claiming, stealing every ounce of control I thought I still had.

“Mmm—” I tried to protest, but the sound dissolved into a helpless moan when his body pressed closer.

I was already lost.

Before I could even adjust, he added another, curling them just the right angle while his thumb began rubbing tight circles.

The moment the words left my mouth, I knew I’d made a mistake.

“Then I guess I have work to do,” he said quietly. “I’ll just have to convince you.”

Before I could react, he shifted down the bed, his hands sliding along my thighs as he spread my legs apart.

“Yeongjae, wait, I haven’t—fu…”

I closed my eyes and ran both hands over my face, the tension in my shoulders tightening like steel cables. The weight of everything—River's death, my grandparents' rage, the ever-growing web of secrets surrounding Sora and Uncle Isaac—weighed on me until it was almost unbearable. 


I let out a long, shaky sigh and finally muttered, "Can we stay in your penthouse tonight, Jiho? I… I need a place away from all this."


Jiho nodded without hesitation. "Of course. Yuri, go grab your things. Just for tonight—we'll wait in the car."


Yuri's face was pale but determined. She nodded and quickly left to fetch what she needed. Jiho and I stayed in the car, but none of us spoke. Not a word.


By the time we arrived at Jiho's penthouse, the quiet had become unbearable. The tension seemed to thicken around us. 


Finally, Yuri blurted out, her voice sharp and insistent, breaking the fragile silence.
