Sora's POV
Yejin and Hanna did what they did best: kept the table alive.
They bounced questions back and forth, shared ridiculous stories, and teased Logan about his patients and their very dramatic owners.
Slowly, the tension I'd been holding in my shoulders loosened.
Even Yeongjae seemed different.
The sharp edge from earlier had dulled. He was smiling now and even laughed when Logan told a story about a Chihuahua that needed three adults and a sedative just to get its nails trimmed.
Maybe he was just hungry earlier. Or maybe… he was nursing the same kind of headache I was from our disastrous drinking session last night.
Last night... flashed briefly in my mind.
I pushed the thought away and focused on my plate.
At some point, the conversation settled into something easy. Comfortable. Eating became enjoyable again instead of a survival activity.
