Chapter 22 - 22

Axiom exited the spaceship with Shitaki, seeing a giant crowd of many different aliens with a single path forward, leading toward a massive coliseum-like building.

As he walked, a tall alien burst from the crowd, holding a gun at Axiom. Clearly, he didn't want this empire to have another ruler like Frieza or Cold.

But before he could fire, Axiom appeared in front of him, punching a hole through his head before he could react. "Let this be a lesson — any hostility against me will be reciprocated many times over." He infused ki into his voice, making sure everyone heard the warning, before walking forward once again, swiping his arm downward to remove the blood.

Arriving at the coliseum-like building, Shitaki stopped and bowed to Axiom, not being permitted inside.

Upon entering, Axiom saw that the building was filled with important-looking figures — all representatives of the Planet Trade Organization. Some were leaders of multiple worlds, others important members of the army.

Axiom walked to the center of the room. One of the figures spoke up — a short blue alien wearing armor and a long red robe.

"We are all here for the coronation of the newest heir of the empire! He is the last remaining relative of the late King Cold and has shown power greater than the late Frieza's at only four months old! Everyone who is in favor of this coronation, bow your heads!"

Many of the figures bowed their heads, including the one speaking, although a few remained seated with their heads held high.

One of them — a round purple alien with spiked protrusions on his arms and a third eye on his forehead — spoke up. "What is your plan for the Ogar defectors?"

Axiom did not know who these Ogars were. "Any defectors are to be given a second chance. However, any crimes committed by them shall be judged as harshly as possible."

A few aliens nodded, seeing that this ruler would be reasonable, and bowed. Now only three figures remained unsatisfied.

One of them — a mountain-like individual, easily triple the size of the surrounding aliens — spoke next. "What is your plan for the Torgan pirates?"

Axiom thought for a moment. "Any pirate attacks made against us will be met with overwhelming force. Any who survive will be personally prosecuted by me."

The aliens whispered among themselves. One of those who hadn't bowed yet lowered his head in acknowledgment. Then the giant alien spoke again.

"And by us, do you mean the entirety of the Planet Trade Organization, or simply those close to you?"

Frankly, the question was disrespectful, but Axiom kept his composure. Even ruling through fear required a strong foundation to maintain loyal subjects.

"The entirety of the Planet Trade Organization will be under my protection. Anyone who is part of our organization shall be defended from any external threats."

The massive alien and the final dissenter bowed their heads. All the figures in the hall now acknowledged him as the new emperor.

The blue alien who had first spoken addressed the hall again. "Everyone here has acknowledged the heir of the late King Cold as the new Emperor! Now, my lord, what is your name?"

Axiom smiled at his new subordinates. "My name is Tundra!" He made sure everyone heard it clearly.

The blue alien nodded. "All hail the new Emperor, Lord Tundra!"

All of the figures in the hall bowed. The blue alien spoke once more.

"Everyone here, remember this day! The day the fractured Planet Trade Organization was reformed under the rule of Lord Tundra! Etch this day into your calendars and inform your people. All hail Lord Tundra!"

The coronation ended with everyone offering praises before departing.

Tundra smiled — genuinely smiled — out of excitement. It was a happiness he had never felt before in his life, not even when eating the greatest food he had ever tasted.

__

Several days passed, with Tundra being visited and presented with gifts by many who wanted to gain his favor, though he destroyed all of them, having no need for such offerings.

On the seventh day, he was assigned a tutor to ensure he could rule effectively. The tutor was the same blue alien from before. He introduced himself as Sorbet before beginning Tundra's instruction.

The first lesson involved Sorbet assessing the extent of Tundra's abilities and philosophy. Sorbet was understandably shocked by the depth of Tundra's knowledge — it was as if he had already had a tutor, though perhaps not for long.

But something about Tundra's philosophy made Sorbet smile. A meritocracy? That aligned perfectly with the ideals of the Planet Trade Organization.

Thankfully, Sorbet realized he could skip the basic and intermediate principles of rulership — lessons that would normally take months of nonstop teaching. Instead, he only needed to instruct Tundra on how to properly assign value to planets.
