Chapter 57 - Chapter 56: Scarab Occult Terminator

"All is dust... All is dust... All is dust..."

Imagine dozens of fully armed Rubric Marines, gathering with lumbering steps around their Sorcerer master. Their low war cries and heavy footfalls beat like the drums of death.

Protected by psychic barriers, their armor is indestructible amidst the fires of war, immune to enemy artillery.

Wielding inferno bolters imbued with psychic power, the Rubric Marines unleash deadly attacks in all directions amidst twisting flames.

These blue "cans" are the most despair-inducing enemies on the battlefield.

Originally heavy armor of the Imperium, they have long since been twisted beyond recognition by the powers of Chaos, covered in forbidden runes.

The Rubric Marines' design draws from ancient Egyptian culture and mummy artifacts. With blue and gold striped headdresses resembling Tutankhamun's death mask, bird-like decorations, and hieroglyph-like runes, combined with the simpler base of Space Marine power armor, they possess a unique artistic impact.

And the one Kenmei obtained is an elite among them.

The Scarab Occult Terminators were once known as the Sekhmet and Magnus' Veterans. They were the battle-brothers of the Thousand Sons Legion and served as the honor guard for the Primarch Magnus the Red.

The Scarab Occult were also among the few elite infantry units capable of standing toe-to-toe with the Emperor's Custodes.

After being corrupted by Chaos, these warriors donned variants of the ancient Tartaros Pattern Terminator Armor—an even more formidable power armor covered in blasphemous inscriptions.

Each suit is a precious relic of the Legion.

With the fluctuation of their own psychic power, they can not only deflect solid projectiles fired by the enemy but even deviate so-called high-tech beam weapons.

"Uncle Blue," as Kenmei calls him, isn't just a tool for chores.

Despite the extreme damage to its durability causing its power to fall across dimensions, the Scarab Occult Terminator remains Kenmei's biggest trump card!

It grants him the power to fight high-level Cursed Spirits beyond his current tier. Combat is the best way to test strength, and worrying about experiment progress only leads to hair loss.

So, Kenmei went out.

Late at night in an abandoned industrial park in North Ikebukuro, an extremely evil Cursed Energy fluctuation distorted even the moonlight.

A dark black, one-eyed giant, about ten meters tall and covered in pustules, wandered among the rusty old pipes of the chemical plant, seemingly searching for something.

The massive scarlet eyeball in the center of its huge head rolled around, constantly scanning in all directions.

Terrible dark green pus secreted from wounds all over its body dripped onto the asphalt, corroding deep pits with a sizzling sound.

"ROAR!!!"

Suddenly, the cyclops moved. Raising its hands high, it smashed down heavily on an abandoned oil tank, punching a large hole through the hard steel with crushing force.

The dilapidated steel structure screamed as it twisted and deformed, and a cloud of dust completely engulfed the massive cyclops.

But judging by the Cursed Spirit's reaction, the strike must have missed entirely; otherwise, it wouldn't be so enraged, attacking the abandoned chemical equipment indiscriminately.

Instantly, high-concentration yellow-green Cursed Energy gathered in the cyclops's mouth and was released in one breath.

Boom, boom, boom.

A destructive, corrosive beam surged from the cyclops at extreme speed. As its body turned, the straight beam swept continuously across the abandoned park, causing massive explosions with every hit.

The Cursed Spirit's logic was simple: remove all these eyesores, and the little mouse it was looking for would naturally appear.

Continuous explosions lit up the entire park, setting fires everywhere with the cyclops's Cursed Energy cannons.

Moreover, due to the specific nature of its Cursed Energy, the burning yellow-green flames produced white smoke that was highly toxic and corrosive.

"To cause this level of destruction, it must be a high-level Cursed Spirit, around Grade 1."

Kenmei Isayama sat on the edge of a towering chimney, legs dangling freely in the air as the wind blew through his hair.

He looked precarious, with no safety measures.

Whether in front or behind, there was a drop of nearly a hundred meters. falling would mean instant death.

Kenmei looked down with interest at the tall cyclops amidst the pale yellow flames, stroking his chin as he spoke slowly.

"Otherwise, using up durability on this would be a waste."

The "little mouse" the enraged cyclops was looking for was Kenmei.

Lacking a way to judge Cursed Spirit grades, he had to harass it first to enrage it. Seeing the destructive power of its impotent rage allowed him to estimate its grade.

"Let's end this quickly."

Seeing the flashing lights of fire trucks in the distance, they would arrive soon.

Kenmei didn't like dragging innocent people into this, so he didn't delay any longer.

He finished the last bit of beer in the can, then refilled it with concentrated psychic energy.

Raising the can over his head in a throwing stance, he launched it precisely onto the head of the cyclops looking around.

"Where the hell are you looking, big guy?!"

After a brilliant white flash, a violent explosion occurred on the Cursed Spirit's bald head.

"I'm right here."

The smoke from Kenmei's psychic explosion lasted less than a second before a straight yellow-green beam pierced through it amidst an angry roar that echoed through the sky, slamming into the chimney where he sat.

Sensing the destructive power close at hand and the weightlessness as the entire chimney shattered...

The unprecedented thrill and sense of danger made the corners of Kenmei's mouth twitch upward uncontrollably.

"This is how it should be!"

Kenmei didn't wait for the tower to collapse. Instead, he opened his arms and leaped from the towering chimney.

Watching the ground approach and the stone debris crumbling around him, Kenmei calmly spoke four special syllables.

"All is dust!"

Instantly, a rectangular pale blue light screen with a flashing Rubric symbol in the center appeared in the void before the falling Kenmei.

He reached out and touched the screen. Behind it, as if in another space, the phantom of the Scarab Occult Terminator armor appeared.

Passing through the screen, a massive, metallic cobalt-blue armor faintly appeared on Kenmei's body, carved with sharp blue and gold lines, claw decorations, and various forbidden runes resembling hieroglyphs.

After passing through the screen, Kenmei had completely donned this final relic of the Thousand Sons Legion, merging with it to become the terrifying Rubric Marine that made enemies tremble on the battlefield.

With red light glowing in his eyes, Kenmei turned his body in mid-air. He gripped the curved blade that suddenly appeared in his hand and slashed viciously toward the cyclops!

"Die!"

This is the other use of the [Rubric Marine - Scarab Occult Terminator].
